The first thing I did was turn off the fishing mini game. I am not hurting my hands and wrists for a game so you do whatever makes you feel comfortable playing.
The reason you catch so many old shoes is that the tanner/cobbler used to live there (away from town because of the tanning stink), and when his cusotmers bought new shoes, the old ones were thrown in the pond.
Hey Shelab, I’m playing along with you, and making friends with the villagers gets you a lot of valuable gifts, on top of fulfilling the social pillar. I got a free iron pickaxe
Shelab, your farm is coming along very nicely. And as for the fishing, I am glad that you turned off the fishing mini game. You don't need sore wrists. I have bad wrists, and it is terrible when you need to do things. The fishing is so much easier to watch. When you were catching all those old shoes, I was thinking how many bodies were thrown in your pond. I guess I watch too many murder mysteries. 🙄 Oh, I always forget to ask if you can fish in the mine? I know that there is water down there.🎣💐
Hi loving the series ! Don't ever feel the need to apologize for something like turning off the fishing minigame. The accommodations are there in the first place for situations like this ! I decided to watch someone play instead of play it myself because I also have hand pains! Keep up all the great work 😊
I have no issue with turning off those features. When I get this game, I'm turning off item decay, the fishing mini game, and all aging and diseases in my first playthrough. I love that you can customize your game like that. I can do hard mode later once I learn the game.
Loving the series! Not sure if your'e into a tonne of backseat gaming but a tip with the fridges I used was to store extra ice in a fridge, so when you get more fridges or miss a day of gathering ice you have backups. Also, start hoarding leaves. From shaking bushes or trading with children, you'll thank me later
I do not mind you going down the mine ramps to the lake (and back from the lake to the surface) in the dark.... once you enter the next room it does get very hard to see anything.
No shame in turning off the fishing mini-game. Save those wrists!! I've turned mine off as well since I have carpal tunnel and I need to be careful of what types of repetitive motion activities I put my hands through.
Thank you for turning off the fishing mini game. Only need to see that once to get the idea and then it is not needed again. It can become very repetitive when fishing all day. I am really enjoying your series. ETA: Yes save your wrists. There is no point in hurting yourself. And you get paint from the ship on Sundays in the harbor
wait till you get the double artisan... it has saved my life... almost want to turn off age curve i dont wanna lose it still havent died but worried. i get 2 per for everything crafting even iron. actually almost never fails sell the frogs there worth a bit... have 2 catch too... so scared for the kid to take over... Will admit if my kid loses everything ill make them eternal. im capped out on fishing went wide net and rod maitenance but i got the rainbow rod so not sure if that was important. capped on farming animal wisper / breeder cap on socail haggler/ check the back.. i must be blind cuz for the second trait on this one i havent noticed anything new... for crafting this is the one you WANT!!! covers dried goods to! start with Artisan which gives a chance for a higher rating... but the second stage is a life saver... callled Waste Not which gives double refine items.... yes iron so you get 2 for 3 ore!!!!! i have maxed out 4 but foraging and cooking lag behind...
as a long-time sufferer of carpal tunnel syndrome, i agree that turning off the fishing minigame is a good call.
Love that you turned off the fishing. Also, loving the Echoes videos. Thank you so much Shelab!

I hope I’m not overstepping, but I believe you get paint from the Pirates and the sailors on the weekends.
Updating the wiki, this is huge help, thank you.

Why not put seeds, soil, worms, etc out in the helper chest? Would free up some inside storage.

Oh, if you give your hubby the tool to be repaired before you go to bed (pre-midnight), you appear to get the repaired tool when you wake up.

Yes you can fish in the mines!

Double smelter helps SO much.
