Great video as always Chris!!! I had to laugh when you mentioned understanding the market. When my wife catches me scrolling comics on eBay and asks me, "Haven't we (the royal we) already hit the comic budget limit this month?"...I just tell her..."Absolutely babe--I'm just studying the market." But seriously...I've sold books (actual books, not comics) on eBay before and I found that clear photos, a detailed description of any defects, and bulletproof packing got me 100% positive feedback. I'm going to be selling comics on eBay soon and plan on following the same process. Pro tip to sellers...Please, for the love of Gawd...ease up on the tape. I've received books that required the hands of a surgeon and an X-Acto blade to free them from their tape sarcophagus. Additionally, anytime I ship a book, I put it inside of a ziplock polybag (purchased on Amazon). Sooner or later, if you have a box coming to a house and left on the porch, it's going to get rained on. I have an overhang but a T-storm can blow rain sideways and soak a box. Had a buyer thank me for waterproofing a book because that very thing happened to him. And finally, as a buyer, I would suggest sellers stop putting this phrase in their description..."I am not a professional grader..." If you're not comfortable assigning a grade, max out the allowable # of pics and make sure they're crystal clear, not shot with a Polaroid from 6 feet away.
haha studying the market! Yes! I also agree about the tape! This is why I always encourage sellers to use painter's tape. Scotch tape overkill is so frustrating! lol.
Excellent video. This was my third time watching your channel. I’ve been selling books on EBay for the last two weeks. You’re input has been very useful. This was a perfect video for what I was lacking. I’ve got you on my notifications now. Great content. You clearly know what you’re talking about. Thanks so much.
This was informative and delivered well. I think for anyone who has this on their mind it is a must see video. I'm still trying to figure out how I want to play my hand in the near future regarding my comics. Thanks for taking the time to outline the process.
Wow these are very interesting variables on how to properly sell your books I think you will informed some collectors to know how to properly sell your books silver all things is very very good👍
@@JernosComicsPopCulture ok might do that. I have to inventory a lot I have still. Tried cleaning and pressing a few of my PC which was a fun time. I've been watching your videos for a year now on and off always proper info.
Excellent video. Thanks for the info. I’m want to sell and invest by buying key books and can make a profit in. Any suggestions on how to be a good buyer. Do you have a video on this?
Thanks for the comment! The biggest tip as a buyer is to always be informed, use multiple sources to check values, and always have patients. I'll have to do a video addressing this specifically soon!
Can you scream #3 from the mountain tops please? The lack of effort I have seen in local (OfferUp) and eBay posts are ridiculous. From one single picture of the book....still in the bag..... to pictures taken with the book at a weird angle. Almost all these posts have a blank description or poorly worded with a lot of grammatical errors. Shipping problems..... Jesus, don't get me started on the problems I have had and seen when getting a book. A cheap vanilla mailer with the comic in a bag and board isn't going to cut it. I have even received a book that was tapped to cardboard that smelled like it was taken out of a dumpster. A LOT of sellers put in the minimalist amount of effort and expect no problems with the highest possible returns. I learned my lesson, I just stop buying from people who have posts like that. It is just not worth my time to deal with those people. I list and ship comics like I would want to see and receive them, others should do the same, but most do not. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
I hear you! Pictures of books in bags kills me. I've done a solid handful of videos opening up books that were so horribly packaged. Thanks or sharing!
Question Hey Jerno, I'm a huge fan, and props for doing what you do. I have about 7500 books in my collection, and over time, I have accumulated maybe 200-300 dupes and overage of books that I no longer want. They are from all eras except the Golden age, and no keys are involved. I aim to trade these books for new stuff even If I don't get the best "exchange" rate, but I don't want to get raped. For some reason, I don't think an LCS is an answer since they are in business. Any ideas or thoughts? Many Thanks!
Two banger vids back to back! Everyone make a circle around this man and protect him!
Thanks for the support!

What's your take on tucking the bag flip inside the bag itself?

Thanks, Chris! I do have a few comics that I would like to try and sell to get some money for the hobby. I think I would try eBay first.
I might be getting some books to sell soon as well. Not really my thing, but I'm going to test that waters with some doubles!

I feel for people who just bulk sell. But sure it’s effort time risk of holding and work.
well explained

It’s about 20% in fees to eBay and I find FB market place easier for me to sell and no fees “Yet”. And don’t forget to use 130point.com for avg sales
