Brian wrote the song about his own troubles, but Freddie had that wonderful skill to adopt anybody's song and to fill them up with his own emotions. I love when somebody is able to sing 'big' and Freddie's voice was soaring here.
Hi OGO, This was originally released in 1992 and sung by Queen guitarist Brian May, it's on his solo debut album called Back to the Light 😀😀 This version is absolutely amazing as well 😀 😀 👌 👌This version is on Queen's 1995 album Made in Heaven!! 😀 😀 RIP Freddie 🙏 🙏
Three versions (kinda) Brian May penned this beauty drawing from his own experiences ! So, there’s a version with Brian singing which is very heartbreaking! Another version Freddie sings giving it a different emotion especially with what Freddie was going through. And, I’ve seen a third version where Brian sings with Pavarotti this same song live in Italy. Fascinating!!
Too Much Love Will Kill You fu eseguito dal vivo da May alla voce e tastiera (accompagnato da Spike Edney, anch'egli alla tastiera) durante il Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert del 1992, venendo in seguito registrato in studio e incluso nel suo album Back to the Light.
You have to listen to Brian May's version. This is the only time where I think Brian May sounded better because of the personal nature of the song to him. He has three children and was going through a horrible divorce.
I love this song written by Brian May (guitar). While this is excellent with Freddie singing it, the best version, in my opinion, is Brian's own video of this song. The emotion is so strong, he is pouring his heart and soul out as he sings it. It is Brian's heartbreaking story about the crumbling of his marriage. Brian was in pieces at the prospect of no longer being able to live with his wife and children and torn between his desire to save his marriage, after his wife had decided she could no longer hold on, and moving on with someone new, into a relationship that still had possibilities. It was never a matter of Brian or his wife not loving each other, they both really did, but Brian's life was on the road for 9 months out of the year then 3 months in the recording studio, then out on the road again for another 9 months. Fidelity was never going to be possible, his wife knew this and so did Brian.
Well, Brian's marriage crumbled because he was having an affair with the woman who later became his second wife, sooo ... much more heart in soul in it with Freddie singing it when he knew he was going to die from AIDS. IMO.
@@bbbfst No, Brian had been having affairs with women on the road for years. He and Chrissy were already on the rocks when he started seeing Anita. Brian kept trying to get back together with Chrissy but it just kept failing because Chrissy knew that he would be on the road again and the same thing would happen. Chrissy got pregnant during one of those "try again" times with their 3rd child, Emily Ruth. Chrissy finally took the kids and headed for their home in California. At that time, Anita was just another one of Brian's indiscretions, he was a broken man and not ready for much of anything in the way of a relationship. Brian was so torn at that time that he was suicidal. When he realized that there was no use in trying again with Chrissy because she wasn't going to have it, he finally let himself fall in love with Anita, but he and Chrissy remained married until after Emily was born before pursuing a divorce. Publicly, Brian takes all the blame and does not mention that Chrissy was the one who called it quits, not him. He is very careful to protect his children and Chrissy in this way. At the time that it was all going on, it was all very public and in all the tabloids which is part of the reason Chrissy took the kids to California. If you listen to the song "Why Don't We Try Again" on Brian's solo album, it is all pretty much all laid out there as well. Brian also was cheating with another woman when he had been with Anita for many years. He had an affair with his secretary, Julie. He and Anita had been on again, off again for nearly all of their time together before finally getting married in 2000. Brian was asked why he and Anita didn't live together all those years that they were dating and Brian said that at the time, he wasn't sure that he loved her in that way. So while the Brian and Anita story has a happy ending, most of the other stuff we hear about their relationship is not really all that factual. Even to this day, both Brian and Anita admit that they fight constantly about everything, even the most stupid of things.

Freddie recorded this while he was dying
Freddie la canta excelente pero tienes que escucharla por Brian, es su canción 👑🌠
As for me, Brian's solo version is better
I just wrote that.
Apologies
Certain songs can be the soundtrack of any one’s life
I prefer the one sung by Brian May
