I’ve been terrified of how they would handle Wii Rainbow Road basically since the DLC began, but they absolutely nailed it. They took a mediocre tour remake and turned it into how I always remembered the original being. You can tell they took their time to make it as faithful to the original as possible.

I’m hoping they’re teasers for 9 or whatever’s next. Same with a bunch of power ups that appeared through it like the mega mushroom, rock mushroom, double cherry and power moon.
Honestly, all 8 of them impressed me more than I thought! Wii Daisy Circuit‘s ok, but the other 7 are absolutely amazing, especially the last 2, what a way to end 8 Deluxe, the very first game with a Bowser Castle, with a shockingly good music remake, man, and the best incarnation of Rainbow Road to exist, it certainly shows! 😄
Kinda sad they didn’t put Mario saying “thanks for playing my game” in the credits. Also did you notice that alts characters now put the icon of the last alt you chose in the selection menu. For example, we see that Ryder last used yellow Yoshi, Shyguy and birdo.
The wave is easily the best. My opinions may change, but this is how I'd currently rate them. 1. GCN DK Mountain 2. Wii Rainbow Road 3. Tour Rome Avanti 4. SNES Bowser Castle 3 5. 3DS Rosalina's Ice World 6. Tour Madrid Drive 7. Wii Daisy Circuit 8. Piranha Plant Cove I expected Athens Dash to stay as my favorite city track, but I am really loving Rome Avanti. Plus, Rome Avanti should have 100% been the Spiny Cup city, Madrid's route is not the best and it just feels too simple for the grand finale. Rome Avanti on the other hand keeps you on your toes the entire time. I was honestly disappointed with Cove. It just feels way too long and way too empty.
8:01 GBA Luigi Circuit wouldn't have worked. We already have GBA Mario Circuit in the game. It's unquestionably clear that Nintendo wanted one "circuit" from each game, and that's what they gave us: SNES Mario Circuit 3 N64 Royal Raceway GBA Mario Circuit GCN Yoshi Circuit DS Mario Circuit Wii Daisy Circuit 3DS Toad Circuit They gave us multiple circuits across the Mario Kart series, but only one represented each entry prior to Mario Kart 8.
Daisy Circuit is the worst track of wave 6 pisses me off that we could have gotten Wii Dry Dry Ruins,DS Airship Fortress or DS Luigi's Mansion instead but we got a damn circuit track in the final wave of the BCP
We could have gotten a mission mode, a Double Dash mode, 16 new battle tracks and a whole new huge open world story mode, but instead we got a damn music player
I guess Mario is over for me now. There’s no more Mario Kart Tour, no Mario Kart 8 DLC, no more Charles Martinet, and there’s no Dianna Mustard. It won’t ever be the same again.

I feel like Daisy Circuit was the track that replaced Piranha Plant Pipeline.
3DS Rainbow Road is still the best one.
The final wave of MK8D has begun, for now my favorite track is Rosaline Iceworld as a Rosalina main.
