So I remember that there was a defense segment on this mission, but I don't remember it being that HARD! I tried to beat it for over 2 hours and I just couldn't no matter what I did so I just did the entire mission again off screen, but this time without letting a unit die or spending gold and keeping the infernal! Feel free to laugh at me!
Don't feel bad - Tomoraider has confirmed that current patches of the game result in a bug making several AIs much harder than intended (though it's not specified which ones, I'm guessing this one is probably affected). Aside from that, they've also said that difficulty in a few places is just too high in general, so while I have no idea when, they do eventually plan to go back and do a touch-up of the AI, likely to fix the bug, and generally tweak difficulty.
