    Hi John, great topic.
I am pretty much in the same position as you’ve been at the beginning, family, a new born baby and still working full time. I have always been tempted to study to become a valuation surveyor however setting aside the financial commitment and the time consuming it is the mentor aspect that I am reluctant about. How can I find mentor once I have started the study?would it be ok to phone some of the surveying companies in my area and offer myself to be mentored a couple of days a week for free?

Hello, thanks for your message. Yes, we would suggest calling or emailing some local firms to ask if they are happy for you to shadow them. We can provide a template email for you to use if this helps. Please feel free to email us on hello@sava.co.uk if you would like this or if we can help with anything else.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Do you need any additional qualifications, GCSE etc in order to qualify?

Hi Matt, you do not need any other qualifications but we recommend that you are able to work to a level equivalent of a GCSE C in Maths and English as a minimum
