3 minutes in and I just learned how to cut something/somebody out of a picture using photoshop. FINALLY.... I was looking for a tutorial about that but found nothing that showed everything step by step. Thanks Ian, you are amazing!
Just wanted to say you can go straight to the refine edge tool from your selection and it will automatically create a new layer with a transparent background, in stead of ctrl shift I (inversing), cutting, then refining edge. IF the background clashes really hard with the selection it might be useful to delete the background or part of it first, but it is unnecessary in most cases (in my experience)
Jesus! This is the first good editing channel I find, all the other ones are so boring and stale I lose interest in a couple of minutes, but yours have some humour and life to them. Most of the really basic editing stuff I know, I've learned myself because I just would fall asleep with the other tutorials I'd find. 1 more sub to the pile :D

Thank you for not only being a gifted editor, but able to properly convey things and edit your videos to retain the audience... I can't tell you how many videos I've seen where it's just a screen cap with a voice over and they go off on tangents that aren't relevant or interesting.

Anyway, 7 hours ago I was a complete noob at video editing, but now, after carefully following your steps, I feel like a freaking professional. I managed to make a decent (in my opinion) shooting star video of a friend of mine, but now I wonder how I can make it into a acutal video so I can share it and all stuff.
helpful tip i discovered.... If you want to duplicate, hold alt then click and drag what you are trying to duplicate, also works when you band things together. so (alt+click) then drag hope i explained well enough

Pro tip for you, you could just copy paste the selected area without making it a layer and then delete the background layer.
