arent you ashamed to say that , you are degrading yourself saying the clever indians are abroad y r u not clever. there are enough people in this country , are none of them clever .
The problem with Indian startups mainly they only think about selling to other Indians . But that's not how Chinese start-ups come up they think about selling it to the world from the beginning itself . And most of the start-ups if not many think about concept testing it and then selling it off to the higest bidder from abroad that's not how you look at your startups, start up is supposed to be your baby no one thinks about having a baby just to sell it .
If the only example you have are Alibaba and Tencent, then you're wrong. Even Oyo went multi national, so your argument isn't valid. Stop criticising for no reason lmao. We should not compare with other nations with different needs and having different talent.
True, I also feel this. Like in shark tank India, most startup comes doesn't have any plan to go outside Indian market. I am like ; arre duniya India se bhi bahar hai, go outside and expand your market there also. But nhi. Lenskart is example. They can easily have a presence in asean countries and if not Europe also. But they currently only work in India, Singapore, dubai and us.
No I don't agree, Startup is a business if someone is giving heigher bidding then why not ? I have other problem with Indian Startup ecosystem, that is they are too focused on valuation rather than profitability.
Mr OBJECTS MEDIA ..let me remind you India is 2nd in term of population of world that is 17.7% of total population of world And any startup growing outside will always target it's customer base in India while INDIANS will target Indian bcz of Ease of Doing Business we cannot target chinese population because of Economies of Scale hence India is a sovereign marketplace and a key investors paradise , we are growing at a rapid pace as we are firm believer of " Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam "

Turning a profit is not a must have requirement for a country's growth. When foreign VCs invest say $300million into one company, that money is transformed into hiring more employees and paying their salaries (which is taxed), paying contractors, suppliers, distributors, bigger office buildings etc. Even if the startup fails, the entrepreneur gains some knowledge and experience to start a new venture and usually most entrepreneurs succeed in their 2nd or 3rd attempt. So yeah, being profitable will help us grow a long way but it's not a requirement for country's growth because startups still account for only a small portion of the country's GDP.

Govt. policy often dictates the success of a startup ecosystem ag1. With support in the form of grants, accelerators, incubators, etc. a startup ecosystem can thrive. The opposite is also true: restrictions and bans can stunt an ecosystem's growth. We have seen GOI implement such an approach in the crypto space, and more oversight is needed in other domains like EVs and edtech. China has gone above and beyond though, with crackdowns/bans in crypto, edtech, social media, and also poor treatment of top startup founders/business leaders. Nice explanation but I think ground realities are totally different, some reasons to disagree are; 1. Infrastructure in India is around 30-40 years behind than China in all aspect, which is playing pivotal role goods transportation, so it will take decades for India to catch up. Just imagine that China used more cement just in 2013-14 than it was used entire century in US. 2. The technical labour force is not easily available so it will take at least 10-15 years to reach the basic requirements, and also women participation is very low as compared to China. 3. China has a very stable govt with no opposition, so, policies are consistent and long term while there are so many political parties in India and ruling different provinces so very difficult on mutual consensuses. 4. There are so many Economic zones in China which were started to developed around 40 years back, and now there are many economic zones, so different cities are famous for different products and more economic zones are being develop, which is not seen in India. 5. BRI is linked with more than 150 countries, which means billions of projects are underway and some are already giving benefits to the economy, but best yet to come. 6. Chinese companies are busy all over the world in infrastructure development, 5G, Telecom sector, Railways, dams, motorways, electronics. All top and most expensive infrastructures are being developed by Chinese companies, India is not 70 yrs behind. 7. 80% of world electronics are made in China, so it will take years to replace, and by that time Chinese mobile companies will be everywhere and apple is expected to go down. 80% of Iphones are made in China, some of it can be shifted to other, but not all. 8. China is leading 5G, AI, Drones, solar energy, wind energy, electric vehicles, electronics, space technology, high speed rail, nanotechnology, agriculture, batteries, etc, while India is far behind. 9. For the first time in history there more Chinese universities than US universities in world top 2000 universities, and this number increased dramatically in last 5 years, while India is so behind. 10. China is mostly self-sufficient while India is depending on outer world for many things. These are some examples and overall, still many fields where India is very behind, and there is no field except population where India can cross China in coming years.
Truth. I think the better way to look at this is not to rival China, but to just continue to grow fast. The government support for basic and higher education, skills has to drastically increase to take advantage of the demographic dividend.
@@SkpalTube i agree with this, comparison is so early..China has potential to achieve this goal but with system glitches will achieve this or not a big question..infrastructure is also so important

I have this very strong feeling that in next few decades India will become a colony of the US, with all the elite Indian living in the US and the rest poor ones making India another African country.
Do you see USA create a lot of products from scratch, like GM and Ford used to do, like create cars upfront, instead live at the mercy of Japan, Germany, Italy and other countries instead of putting money in dead investment like R&D ?? Three countries, USA, UK and NewZealand have Indians as politicians and can create laws for Indians and make asian-Americans come up all over the world, don't you think so ? A lot of Indians are mocked by not sticking to Indian culture. Is there a specific culture alone in India to stick to ? It's full of different cultures unlike China or for that matter, any other country, don't you think so ?? Can any other country be like India in the first place ??? 😀😀😀 Do you see Hinduism getting passed on all over the world unlike what China has done ?? By then, India would've gotten all the technology from all over the world like Tata does now and live just as USA does now. Look at the +ves alone and don't look at duplicating what other countries do. And India can make sure not to do the same mistake unlike world is doing by making sure their population is young. Lots of positives are happening for India. Chinese population is old unlike India. China went during 1850s to USA, Indians are going only during the past couple of decades. You can't do what other countries are doing in the same span of time. Think twice before saying what you're saying.
I think you assessment on China start up ecosystem was badly insufficient and in complete. You should look past Unicorn because this Unicorn thing is very recent. Unicorn is just a fad and not an end goal or a key to something. The value(not money related) and impact of Chinese semiconductor start up ecosystem for example easily beat the current and upcoming Unicorns + start ups in india.
@Pagleth Saxena m8 you think I don't know what's going on in india? Stop fooling people around thinking any stranger you met in the YT knows nothing about india. There's no such thing as semiconductor fabs from Taiwan worth usd 100 billion in india. Foxconn-vedanta proposed fab doesn't even worth that much and not even start construction yet.
@Pagleth Saxena I said it again please don't assume that a stranger you talked too is an ignorant on the subject. First of all tata isn't Taiwan company. Earlier on you were pressing on Taiwan semi fab investment in india in which only Foxconn who took the initiative. To build a fab for production of mature nodes at least an investment to a tune of USD 15 billion to US 20 billion is needed. And in the jv between Foxconn-vedanta to build a fab Foxconn will invest about $500 million. Secondly, your government target is to manufacture mature nodes chips bcus there's a huge market for such chips in india and globally. Thirdly, tata never being clear about their semiconductor roadmap. Especially beyond their initial target that's establishing OSAT business in india. Anything we heard in india beyond Foxconn-vedanta JV, IGSS Ventures, and ISMC in fab and tata in OSAT is mired in vagueness. Fourthly, india never had a plan to produce advance chips for smartphone and PC bcus they know it's an area that very tough to get into. Fifthly, let's we go back to my initial comment. My initial comment talked about Semiconductor startups ecosystem in China. I'm not talking about a big ticket venture like setting up Semiconductor fab. So I don't know why you bring fab investment in here. Lastly I don't know what you were talking /asking me about in hindi language there. Can you write in English please. If you wanted to write in hindi please used hindi language writing. Don't used ABC.
@Pagleth Saxena how I suppose to know what you're talking here? If you couldn't converse with other in a fantomable manner I can only say just stop replying.
@Pagleth Saxena semiconductor startups seek and get their funding from an investors. Serie A funding, serie B funding and so on. Those funds are then used by semiconductor startups for R&D activity, business expansion etc. Usually big ticket investment startups like Semi Fab newcomer need a huge government support to keep their business going forward but to see a startup in semiconductor foundry space is very, very rare today. Same with semiconductor manufacturing equipments space. China is witnessing the establishment of semiconductor manufacturing equipment businesses under the heavy support of Chinese government. There are some private semiconductor equipment startups exist in China that mostly focus on utility equipments. But the lion shares of semiconductor related funding goes to FABLESS SEMICONDUCTOR startups. Which only designing a chips. China has world's second largest chip design industry after US. Thanks to a thriving fabless semiconductor ecosystem in China lead by thousands of startups.
@8:09 The latest figures (as of November 2022) are : - China : gone up to 243 unicorns - India : back down to 85 unicorns By the way, it doesn't mean the Indian side is doing badly. This change may be due to the fluctuations in the stock market and the depreciation of the Indian currency.

You will be shocked by how divided society is in India. There are class divisions vertically and ethnic divisions horizontally. The whole country is in a mess, and the central government is even unable to effectively control localities.
As a Chinese, I am very funny every time I see this kind of video. The development of a country is not determined by the top few billionaires, but by the changes of everyone in the country, especially the middle and lower levels. The reason why India has not developed well is that, to put it mildly, it lacks Mao Zedong, the Cultural Revolution and the agrarian reform! The Western Propaganda Cultural Revolution is a heinous crime. Yes, there are many bad things, but there are also many good things. After all, China and India have a long history, and there are many bad things accumulated. It is particularly important to reshape the national values. For example, the place where men and women are the most equal in China is the place where the Cultural Revolution was the most thorough.
Agree. There are many regions in India and they use different mother tongues. English is treated as the common language among them. Therefore, I think that people in India are trying to develop their tribe rather than develop their country. It's hard for them to be aware of the nationalism so they do not see India as their nest and many Indians migrated to developed countries like US, UK,.. without thinking.
Lol you know sometimes quantity has its own quality. While Israel has really done well in agriculture, military hardware and software it lags behind the space sector of India and China by 20-30 years
India and China have fought economic and cultural technological wars for thousands of years without ever considering a military war. So this competition is very natural. India might have fallen behind in the past 30 years, we will fight from behind. So bring it on.
Interesting, but I think there are some misunderstanding about China in this video, especially the crackdowns and other means of control which are shown as some kind of 'evil CCP thing imposed on the people', while actually most if not all of these measures are actually welcomed by Chinese consumers... And that's the most important for an economy. Example: the crackdown on rogue influencers was a demand to protect consumers who could get fooled by crooks. France is (trying painfully to) introduce the same kind of measure due to rogue French influencers selling crap from their Dubai base... So keep aside political and moral judgements when assessing economies, what counts is the consumer growth.
Really, what exactly are the issues that Chinese consumers have against tech giants? Can you specify the reason why Jackma was targeted by Chinese authorities?
@@ecoideazventures6417 Before the crackdown, for small businesses if you use Alibaba platforms, you are not allowed to use other platforms like Tencent's.
Since this video is made by a foreigner...he/ she has a very myopic vision/ insight of Chinese companies growth in India and how Indians perceive China and the value preposition Chinese companies represent. India will do it's best to slowly but surely erradicate foreign competition from China and other global nations that wants to dominate various Indian market segments.
I am from India and now a days I am seeing many foreign Videos talking about India for some of their personal gains because India is the largest consumer of You Tube. UK became wealthy by looting and colonizing India for more than 200 years and then separated India in 3 countries. USA became wealthy from immigration of Indians. Russia became wealthy in Cold war and around during USSR. France also became rich by invading other countries like same as UK. And then india took its independence at 1947 when india was suffering from 12% literacy rate, 70% poverty rate & got separated in 2 countries which caused many communal riots & many lives ended. From there now India has reached to just 12% poverty rate, 77% literacy rate in which many states have 100% literacy. I have deep respect for Japan, China, Israel because without any external help or immigration they reached to this position. India is now doing pretty nice. Now lives have became smooth here. And don't forget India is a democratic country with most populous country unlike the so called democracy USA. I have request to non - Indians please don't make any video on India's infrastructure development. We have border dispute with China which will be solve by Indian govt. and not any big relation with china. Not hate china nor like china. Just minding our business.

I personally have lived here in India for almost 6 years, my wife is Indian, my life is in India, etc. so while I appreciate your concern regarding content creators capitalizing off of Indian viewership, we don't fit into that category in the same way that other foreign channels do. We are an Indian channel which happens to have a non-Indian as the face. Our goal in this video was to make a detailed analysis of the Chinese and Indian startup ecosystems, to understand how the world's #3 and #2 ecosystems compare, nothing more, nothing less - stirring hatred was not the goal. We cover startups on this channel, so exploring this topic seemed very appropriate and interesting for us, given how relevant the Chinese startup world has become in recent years (Chinese VCs buying ownership of Indian startups, Chinese apps/products being banned in the Indian market, etc.). -Caleb

But at the same time disadvantages for chinese people in the way that they are limited to one thought and one taste of way of living. India is somehow managing to balance all the forces within India and outside India. 30 states 7 union territories and all one have their own political powers and separate govt. even more than centre. 100s of opposition parties and all are always oppose their respective region govt. wheather they are doing good or bad. I came across your channel accidentally. I wish that people would stop comparing one country to another. China and India are two separate and unique countries and each are growing and thriving in their own ways. Your video is obviously one sided in favor of India. And that’s your prerogative. India has a large population with a lot of talented people and I have no doubt that in time, they will eradicate poverty/homelessness, rid of gender imbalance, rid of corruptions, build new infrastructures, clean city streets and so on for the betterment of its country and its citizens. Not too long ago, China had similar problems and in a decade they not only solved these problems but turned the country into prosperity. We want to strive for peace, not war! Global cooperation is the key. Since both China and India are part of BRICS, I can see great prosperity between the two countries now and in the future, in terms of trade and peace. Also, I would’ve given credibility and respect to you had you said CPC (Communist Party of China, the official name) instead of repeatedly saying ccp. Still India has managed to come this far in 75 years of Independence. Yes, we still have lot to achieve, but we are on a right track I believe we will be even mightier in next decade.
@8:09 It's a bit nonsensical to compare percentage rates of growth when the base is that far off. So for example, as of November 2022, China had 243 unicorns. So even if China adds 100 unicorns in 2023, it would still only be 41% increase. It would be unrealistic to expect China or the US to match India's growth rate.
Most of them are in loss which is not good

The video was suppose to compare India and China start up. However more than half of the video was on politics.
Govt. policy often dictates the success of a startup ecosystem ag1. Why would anyone want to become an entrepreneur if they're worried about being disappeared?

It's really hard to be objective about India right now without getting attacked. Looks like he surrendered. lol.
Nice explanation but I think ground realities are totally different, some reasons to disagree are;
As far as I know India is investing so much in infra from past 5 years. Ofc it's not as much as china but still India is following China's footsteps like the same way china followed west footsteps
@@prasanth2601 India has increased investments on infrastructure but its almost 5-10% of what China is investing, and remember China has already developed its infrastructure..only high speed network increased to 40000 km, highways, subways, metro lines, Ports etc are already developed..plus in China infrastructure costs so less because land is owned by govt so no compensations costs..

Hi Ankur, we also enjoyed doing the news series and we're sorry to discontinue it. However, we've spread ourselves too thin with so many types of content: top 10, news, case study, podcasts, etc. and realized it was actually hurting our channel's growth by focusing on multiple things instead of one thing. So we sat down as a team and evaluated the last 2 years, realising that news videos weren't going to help us get to where we want to go as a channel. We may revitalise the news format in the future in a different form (maybe more conversational content, similar to a podcast but tightly cut, less monologue/news anchor the way we've done it so far), but for now we're hitting pause and changing direction back to the content we were making pre-pandemic, i.e. podcast interviews. -Caleb

Do you see Hinduism getting passed on all over the world unlike what China has done ?? By then, India would've gotten all the technology from all over the world like Tata does now and live just as USA does now. Look at the +ves alone and don't look at duplicating what other countries do.
And India can make sure not to do the same mistake unlike world is doing by making sure their population is young. Lots of positives are happening for India. Chinese population is old unlike India. China went during 1850s to USA, Indians are going only during the past couple of decades. You can't do what other countries are doing in the same span of time. Think twice before saying what you're saying.

Unicorn is just a fad and not an end goal or a key to something. The value(not money related) and impact of Chinese semiconductor start up ecosystem for example easily beat the current and upcoming Unicorns + start ups in india.
@Pagleth Saxena there's no such thing as that.

You will be shocked by how divided society is in India. There are class divisions vertically and ethnic divisions horizontally. The whole country is in a mess, and the central government is even unable to effectively control localities.
And religion and language
Hahaha !! That's our unique ancient brahminical way to confuse the world and get our job done ! So don't worry about us !!

Truth be told, neither India nor China can beat the small nation of Israel when it comes to start-ups.

@oleh9799 we are not that behing 10-15 years behind.

Hi MY VOICE - we're a team of 4 (3 Indians, 1 Canadian) based in Bengaluru. -Caleb
@@backstagewithmillionaires Hi, Thanks for your reply. It was my fault that i became sentimental. But at the same time disadvantages for chinese people in the way that they are limited to one thought and one taste of way of living.
We in China know that the China haters/western countries uses “ccp” as a form of degradation.

Do you mean the US is nothing compared with China? Not quite right. The US is still ahead of China on market capitalisations of listed stocks and the stock exchanges turnovers. But McKinsey & Co has disregarded these as wealth assessments because these are highly inflated due to low interest rates and often leveraged with supporting debts. And this is why China is well ahead of the US on wealth ranking.

Folks remember one thing, India was colonized and looted by British a whopping $45 trillion!! Country was literally left in shackles and divided by British when they left in 1947.
Not because India is or is not growing fast. It is because of the nature of statistics itself.
A good growth rate can maximize the mythical effect of Indian freedom and democracy. This is the art of language. To make more people believe that one vote can change everything. 🤣
As a Chinese, we are ashamed to compare with India, no Chinese would like to compare with them, our target is America, we rarely care about India, and will not travel to India, international news is almost all America, no India, social media too

There are many aspects that you didn't cover.
