- Noel has cemented his position as one of the true great British songwriters. Back in 2021, Noel Gallagher joined Gary and Guy to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds. Speaking to Guy and Gary, he talks about his continued passion for song writing, his time in Oasis, those record breaking Knebworth gigs in 1996 and how the High Flying Birds took flight…Noel tells some incredible stories and this is another great episode. #noelgallagher #oasis
Through The Barricades was one of the most beautiful songs in my life so far. Stunning to my mind it was and still is. X
That was a beautiful track.
I was in my Grandmothers house in Cork Ireland when Elvis died too.
I was coming downstairs for breakfast and I heard it on the radio - I was 8
One of my strongest memories from childhood 😐
Noel is always great in interviews - and a proper music fan. great to see the two boys back together in that pic this week.
Nothing here about the Oasis reunion. Probably a reupload.
It literally tells you that in the description. It's from 2021.
Yes they are reuploading with the video, was just audio before.
As he talked about ‘the Missus’ I think that’s a fair assumption
Niether of them have done any media since the reunion i don't think
Best music podcast in the biz...I adore it. The stories and name-dropping is brilliant. Quietly hoping for chats with Colin Hay, Paddy McAloon, Paul Weller and Chris Sharrock.
If you haven't already check out the Sodajerker On Songwriting podcast many of who you typed have been interviewed by them and more
Think they've asked Weller many times
Great interview glad they are back
Bring back Tony McCarroll for the tour. His drumming on DM is outstanding.
He’s good on that record, but given how mad Noel would get at him for not getting the parts, right I don’t think he’s coming back you gotta remember Noel plays the drums too, and he’s a better drummer than Tony😂
Unless they do def maybe and early bsides only ( which would suit me) it wouldnt work would it ?
Said noone EVER
@@3imaginaryboys1972 said anyone that understands music at a deeper level than you surface feeders 😃
Absolutely no way Noel will give this huge paying set of gigs to a drummer who sued him for £1,000,000 and won! On principle. Word on the street is that the band will be Noels HFB touring band
Great mention of the back beat Beatles movie - I was 14 when Definitely Maybe was released - formed a band with my mates - we used to watch Backbeat constantly and speak to each other in quotes from the movie..... I am 45 now and a quote still slips out every now and again but they're usually met with confusion these days.
How come this was never uploaded at the time or if it was why is it being re-uploaded now🤷♂️
A cheap cash-in by Kemp and co.

Thanks for tip Noe! Isle of Noises: Conversations with great British songwriters by Daniel Rachel
I can't imagine what it would be like to see/hear sonically a wall of sound with Bonehead, Alan White, Andy Bell, Gem Archer, full band with 3 guitars...And a new album with this whole team. I hope to see you again in Montreal. 😊🍺🍹
They're back for the big money baby !!
Reckon your right. But good on them. It is supply and demand. This ain't taxpayer subsidised. Don't like em. Okay. I do. I guess they do too. Take plenty of pics Boyz. When they wheel you into retirement, you can look through your bifocals at what you did. You did well.
Very good interview, it's high prices what the Oasis reunion concerts are selling for.
Why are the audio versions not on my podcast player a while now guys ?
True that the song and tune come to you.
Never thought that Noel will be speaking to a member of Spandau Ballet 😂
They're back baby
Gayest comment of all time. Well done.
@@nickmoranis2865how is this at all gay?! But who cares if it is? There’s nothing wrong with being gay.
@LUFC123 what Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds with Liam in vocals.
@tabazan9182
Bonehead will be there and Gem . At least there's 3 originals
NGHFB, with Liam on vocals and Bonehead.
Many will be happy with that im sure.
I’m so glad The Rutles are reforming.
All you need is cash
😂 one song has a resemblance to one Rutles song and that’s it. They’ve given 20% of the royalties for that track too, doesn’t discredit them
@@julianbarry Neil Innes is credited as a co-writer on 'Whatever' because of its resemblance to 'How Sweet to be an Idiot'
@@MassiveCatLittleLegs Sure, that’s what I meant above, he only received 20% of the royalties I believe because rather than Co-writing the song it was more about the melody of the first verse and of course the chords which sound the same when Whatever is played on piano. But I don’t believe that’s enough to discredit the band
@@julianbarryit does!
Has Noel conveniently forgotten a band called "The Real People" I wonder?
It's interesting to hear Guy Pratt say that the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour made Pink Floyd cool.
It was a hot ticket that summer, lot's of the kids at my college wanted to go or went to that.
@@andrewskivington6453 I don't doubt you're right, I just find it kind of surprising. A Momentary Lapse of Reason is not generally regarded as one of Pink Floyd's best albums - and by this point Roger Waters had left the band.
@@MatthewMaloney-fj4zz It's a bit like the buzz with the Oasis tour, Floyd hadn't done a world tour since Animals in 1977, so for those too young to see it this was a big draw (The Wall tour on stopped four cites - London, Dortmund, LA and Uniondale). But, yes, the album was not the best of theirs.
The biilliant thing is, you can pause this vid and find Noel Gallagher singing TGILWY w/ BB on piano at the very same Albert Hall gig. And Noel is, frankly, excellent. Very touching when you know the feller's history. A kid off a Manchester council estate.

To be fair the tour should be done with everyone who's been in the band... Tony was there at the start let him do his songs,..,oasis wasnt just liam and noel.. So love do it right...
This is about 8 months old
Try three years ago!! pppfffttt
Live Forever sounds like Catherine Wheels' "Black Metallic"
You forget how the sole music is? It sure is my lad.x
Nice 😊
They were at their very best whilst he was in the band, so whatever he did was right, regardless of how good thing he is. He had a more raw style, which suits their music
Never in my life have I heard a super star of music speak for over 10 minutes without them resulting into bullshit.
This guy does it for 64 minutes without even a blink and probably could go on for a few extra days!
Great conversation!!
And I didn’t even like Oasis that much back in the day...
I was too much of a music snob to be honest & too much into all the rivalry bullshit in music magazines and papers: Oasis? Definitely not my team... 🤫😂.
Wasn’t the last stupid bit of thinking I did... 😄
🖖
old interview
See u nite 1 chief keep.x❤❤❤
Its OASIS init? Its gotta b good. About time. Life's too short to listen to bad music.
No mate, its NGHFB with his bro on vocals.
You are 100% correct my friend. I just love the band. They have to be played loud. Bloody loud. I don't mind how they look or dress. In fact they wouldnt
wants to dress And sing. Or how
You intending to go?
Itsa bit of a hike from Oz
Liam has already done the full Oasis set.
It still sounds like shit.
34:20 Yeah, Noel, thank God for punk wiping away all the shit. And without it we'd have never had Spandau Ballet. Scarcely bears thinking about.
Spandau Ballet were far worse than what came before Punk lol
Laim ,noel, bonehead, guiggs, whitey!!!!thsts my opinion 🤷
There sell outs and had to use a 3rd party ticketmaster to rip of there own fans f that
Reunion grift lols
Get rid of Guy Pratt. Annoying prat.
ZIPPY from rainbow is more Rock n' Roll than Noel Gallagher.
that’s an awful chirp pal. being rock n roll is horseshit. everyone should true to themselves not fkin “rock’n’roll”
The Cramps were more R & R than Oasis could ever be.

Noel Gallagher is about as rock and roll as Mr Bean
Thanks for pricing out the working people.
