Hey Lance! I recently found your channel and have checked out most of your videos. I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to record and post your wing foil sessions! The SoloShot provides a great perspective. Better than a drone or wing mounted camera for most stuff. I'm planning to take a trip to Corpus Christi this April and plan to wing primarily at Bird Island Basin, but your videos have inspired me to try out the surf if I can find a day when the wind is good and the surf is reasonably small. Cheers!
Comments like these make my day. Thanks so much for tuning in,Andy 🤙🏽 I concur on that. Soloshot does provide one of the best perspectives. They are really a great product. I need to use it more often. April is an excellent month for wind and waves here. No shortage of that. If you can jibe heelside and toeside then i think you can venture into the waves. Enjoy!
@wingfoilcoach much appreciated, Coach and thank you for your continued support and messages of stoke! This winging and foiling thing is pretty special . (And addicting) 😂
Life moves pretty fast! On those wave tacks- the hand switch gets you wrapped in the leash, then looks like you just flip it over your head? At first I thought it was a claim. Feel like I need to learn to use a drone to capture party wave crossovers- big Monday!
Correct. I wear a wing leash attached to my left hand. If i tack out of the wave. The leash is fine and not in the way. But if i jibe out of the wave i have to swing my arm around so the leash goes behind me. Dude what an epic session we had together on big monday! Wish we had a drone for those crossovers or someone shooting from the pier. Or even a gopro?! Those conditions were up there with some of the best ive scored it there. Was a pleasure riding and talking with you , Michael. 🌊 Cheers!
Yes, learned a lot from you and Travis and other locals that day- mental images carving waves burned into the brain. Thank you coach Lance I feel like I actually have some style on waves now (work in progress)! Watching the Johnny 'wingfoil manual' video from the hatch- looks like he is on a waist leash to wing and does a flick up with his handle hand to unwrap, have you ever tried wing to waist leash? And gotta get those upwind 3's and backwinds next season!@@Lanceisoutside
I haven’t used a waist leash before. Will have to try it out and see how it goes. You’re welcome. You we’re getting better as the session went on. Watched you luff wing early to big carve transition on the wave face. And doing big bottom and top turns. So much stoke out there! Unreal fun!
That was day 8 in a row- and as good as the wind is in Texas the wind people are even more amazing. Snowboarding crosses over to foiling! Just booked a campsite at Maryhill close to Rufus but with trees and grass 7/19-29@@Lanceisoutside
