I understand why some people say that Ant could be the face of the league due to him being American and having great charisma and he wants to stand out(something Jokic and Giannis lack).
But Wemby just clears Ant by a mile from a pure talent point of view(no disrespect to Ant who is great as well, but Wemby is just that insane). Peak Wemby could easily be a 1/1 in NBA history. Seriously who do you compare the kid with??? LBJ you could say Magic Johnson and Jordan you could say Erving, but who does Wemby compare to? Nobody. He is truly 1/1 and add in the fact that he is arguably a GOAT level talent you have the face of the league.
Wemby is also not totally closed off like Jokic and is more like a Curry when it comes to the media. He would be willing to be the face when the time come.
Also which player is better to truly make the league an international mainstay of a sport alongside Tennis and football than a Frenchman with African roots? With that alone his fanbase could instantly overlap with another superstar in Kylian Mbappe.

What's really impressive is that Wemby can do it all, shoot, defend, score, dribble, pass, and block at 7'4. Defense is not emphasized as much as taking 3s in modern NBA, but the fact that Wemby's defense is just as lethal as his offense is a scary combo.

I get the feeling they don't like each other. Chet made a comment about how it was easy to score when you're throwing elbows and it seems like the Spurs don't like it. They left off a play at the end where Vassell dunked on Chet for the And 1 and stared down Chet after. It was a "I dunked on you" stare. That thing had malice to it.

Why does Kenny think there is no pressure on a bad team? Imagine being generational talent but being put on spotlight for criticism because of team record, and the 18-game losing streak. I’d say losing is much more pressure. Not to mention Chuck said Wemby is the guy and he took all the blame. Chet is barely the 3rd guy so people don’t put magnifying glass over him.

Spurs have their own pick, plus Toronto's (protected 1-6), so they could potentially add two solid lottery picks and really start building something around Wemby.
Crazy thing is that OKC did that ahead of Chet getting to play this season, so they already have additional young talent and more future picks than San Antonio. Okc even had to let Tre Mann go because there just wasn't room for him to get minutes.

The only thing that’s preventing Wemby’s rookie season from being considered the best rookie season of all time is that fact that he didn’t have as big an impact to their record as other stars in the past. I know it’s a team thing mostly, but still you look at some of the great all stars of the past, they were able to get their team to .500 or close to it right from the get go.
