      Yep. I agree. Great vibes and overall better family friendly atmosphere as well. It feels like more than a game in a way.

    Sorry I'm late to this video but dude you parked exactly down where we parked. I'm a lifelong Braves fan last year was my first time seeing them ever and I turned 55 the next day. I had toured the stadium during the off-season in March and just had to come back and see a game

    Its a nice park. Want to start going to as many ball parks as possible. Im a cubs fan. Been to brewers, sox, mariners, cubs, and braves. Braves park is brand new. Just a very trendy look. Got an outdoor mall and resort park. This is one of those new stadiums that moved out to the burbs. It should almost be called Disney park. Just has a Disney image to it. But i am a biased cubs fan and prefer Wrigley field and the culture around the park.

    In reference to truist park, Atlanta got screwed twice, the first time when that piece of trash that became Turner Field. I'm not sure why these owners build minor league looking ballparks

  • @anthonyrivera4735

    I hate trust park period.

    • @onlyinthesouth1985
      @onlyinthesouth1985  ปีที่แล้ว

      Let me guess…is it because you had to pay higher taxes in Cobb county to fund the construction of it? OR you’re possibly still stuck in the past of Turner Field.

    • @anthonyrivera4735

      @@onlyinthesouth1985 I don't live in Georgia, I hate truist park because it was redundantly built twenty years after turner field was, turner field wasn't showing its age or anything like that, also truist park is in a bad area, it's at least an hour and beyond far away from Atlanta.

    • @onlyinthesouth1985
      @onlyinthesouth1985  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I’m sure they’re people that share your opinion. I was at turner now Georgia state stadium for a concert and before the band went on, the crowd erupted in a tomahawk chop. I know they’re people that miss it BUT as far as overall gameday atmosphere goes, Truist Park check marks all the boxes.

      @@anthonyrivera4735 Truist Park is just outside the city limits of Atlanta. Less than two miles away. It has an Atlanta postal zipcode, meaning that the area it is in has its mail come out of an Atlanta post office. It's only a 15-20 minute drive down to the old Turner Field, at least it is when traffic isn't bad.

    • @williamabaker12
      @williamabaker12 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@anthonyrivera4735Yeah, you're wrong about most of what you said. Turner Field was built for the Olympics, and was subsequently leased by the Braves and changed to meet their needs. They didn't own it, however, and it was in a very bad part of Atlanta, making attending games somewhat nerve-wracking at times. Couldn't walk a half mile to the stadium without being relentlessly hounded to buy knockoff items, or just asked for money.
      Their lease was coming to an end and Turner was in need of a refresh at least to keep pace with other modern, purpose built ballparks. Rather than spend several hundred million in updates, only to sign another lease on a stadium they would never actually own, they decided to build Truist park (no more than 15 min drive north of Turner Field). It could be designed exactly as they wanted, and had plenty of land around it to build the multi-plex Battery that's now there. The area is amazing, the ballpark is easier to get to, with zero stress of impending crime hovering in the back of your mind.
      The Battery allows you to get there as early as you like, with endless entertainment, restaurants, child friendly places, etc. There was absolutely nothing around Turner Field.
      When it comes to the park itself, there's zero comparison. It is FAR superior in almost every way for the fans as well as the team. It's intentionally built to be an "intimate" park, with upper levels more vertically built and moved closer to the action. Every seat in the house has an amazing view. As well as far better views, the cozier setting makes for an unrivaled atmosphere, especially in big games.
      Simply speaking, Truist Park is superior in every possible way to TF, and it really isn't even close. Did they use taxpayer funding for part of it? Yep. Am I a huge fan of that? No, but politicians have wasted our money on far worse over the years. At least this provides something for those taxpayers and brings business and money to the area.
