    Sir just to give my knowledge on what we called filter, crossover, etc. in Audio we consider it as frequency output going to the speaker LOW , MID , HIGH, The Tweeter has 2db sensitivity over the Mid, and the Woofer has 1 db sensitivity over the Mid. ibig sabihin ang Tweeter ay mas malakas ng 2 db sa Mid at ang woofer ay malakas ng 1db sa Mid. So we use Resistor to balance out the sensitivity/load problems in general. Gagamit din tayo ng L-Pad kung familiar po kayo dito , ito yung Inductor na makita nyo sa mga bibinibintang passive x over. tawag din dito is Driver Attenuation Circuit para ibaba and tweeter ng 1 db at ng woofer ng 2 db ang resulta babalanse na po ito sa mid. ang capacitor naman na nilalagay natin sa mid, at high ay naka depende sa frequency na gusto mong i palabas sa speaker at sa tweeter mo. so every capacitor value have designated frequency out put . Kaya common na rin sa atin ng pinag palit palit natin ang capacitor para marinig natin ang tunog ng high , magaspang ba or manipis. example po sa capacitor na 4.6uf yung freq response po nito sa 8 ohms ay 3000khz pero pag na load ka ng 4ohm nasa 6000 khz na po ang freq nya. so dapat alam natin and tamang response ng mga filters natin na gagamitin para yung x over point nga signal papunta sa LOW , MID at High ay balanse at hindi mag overlap. yan nalng muna sir. medyo mahaba at malawak kasi ang scope ng audio. This is just to share my little knowledge on audio freq. everything you discuss is true for the basic. thank you.

      magandang araw sa inyong lahat. yaman din napag usapan to. nais ko na din mag tanong sa nakaka alam. (no electonics background ako). tanong ko lang anu ba ang wastong pamamaraan upang maprotekhan ang tweeters? no crossover involve. ex: 150W tweeter.. anung fit na resistor value & capacitor? then so on.. 200w-400w tweeters. thanks in advance.😊👍

    nag reresistor lang pag masyado mataas ang Load ng Bass para Balanse ung Tweeter mu sa Bass kc Tendency pag wala masusunog agad sa lakas ng load or sometimes pag mababa ung ampli mu mag tutunog Lata or Prak prak ung bass mu sa balance ng Frequency , malawak din ang Cross Over kung paanu Balanse ang Bass Tweeter Mid , As Now Commonly Non polar Capacitor then Rolled Wire may nabinili ng naka design na cross over for best output ng Filter Sound, Dipende din sa Capacitors at wattage, gusto ko pa din ung 90s cross over balance ,Bi Polar ang Capacitor at tumataas din ang load Value ng Tweeter compare sa Non Polar Flat lang at Fixed Value

    Thank you sir. Now naintindihan ko na kung bakit nasusunog twitter ng speaker system namin. Kasi po capacitor lang nilalagay ko sa positive terminal. So kailangan pala tlga ng resistor para di masyado maabsorb ng coil yung pabago bagong current na binibigay ng aplifier.

    boss idol, ang tinitingnan po ng amplifier ay impedance not resistance. the impedance po ay combination na po ng capacitance, inductance at resistance :)
    yung tinester ni boss master jovs ay resistance lang nababasa ng multitester not impedance.
    pwede naman po yan iparallel sa tweeter. pero kelangan ang total impedance maging 4ohms minimum. Pero mas safe po talaga, gumamit ng crossover or dividing network, kasi computed na ang impedance nun na 8ohms. :)

    Boss..may correction lng. Ung impedance kc ay di kayang ma measure ng multimeter resistance range kahit ito ay digital o analog. Kc ang impedance ay combination ng reactance at dc resistance. Ang na memeasure lng ng Multimeter o ng ohmeter ay pure dc resistance. Kapag may nakalagay na impedance label sa speaker ay less na 15% ung masusukat mo sa digital o analog multimeter. Halimbawa ung 8 ohms na impedance label ng speaker ay magiging 6 or 6.5 ohms reading sa multimeter.

    Pag nag parallel ka bababa na ang resistance sa load mabilis uminit ang amplifier mo. Ang normal operating resistance sa load ay 8ohms, pag mag parallel ka hihina na ang tunog ng tweeter. Kaya ang magandang gawin imbis resistor ang gamitin bali dalawang tweeter ang gamitin mo. Parallel mo yung dalawang tweeter magiging 4ohms ang load para maging 8ohms mag series ka ng 4ohms na resistor para double protection ang tweeter hindi pa maapektohan ang tunog.

    Ok lang yan hindi masusunog parallel sa speaker at series sa capacitor, ang pagka iba lang nyan ay bumaba or maghihina ang tunog ng tweeter sa high pitch or treble dahil maghina ang output ng tweeter dahil sa parallel resistor.

    Para hindi masunog mag hiwalay lang ng maliit na amplifier with tone control for tweeter. Over drive kase meaning malakas o mas mataas ang output ng amplifier kaysa sa tweeter.

Siguro walang reading kung isama na ang capacitor dahil dc ang supply battery sa tester at naistore sa capacitor wala nang mapunta sa coil sa tester, yon laNG ANG THEORY KO ON MY OPINION.     Series or parallel, siguro depende kung ano ang requirement ng amplifier na gagamitin mo at ang ikakabit na impedance ng speaker mo. Dapat matching sila. Kapag 4ohms ang nakalagay sa amplifier dapat ikabit mo ay 4ohms na speaker or tweeter. Depende na kung ano available sa iyo, dapat imatch mo silang dalawa. Ang capacitor parang high pass filter iyan. Pag may capacitor malakas ang kalansing pag wala mahina kalansing at may iba pang electrical noise.

    your implemention will work to protect the 8ohm coil resistance because the impedance was split into two passive load (speaker / resistor) so when you parallel these you got only 4ohm. HOWEVER, sound performance will reduces and this will be weaker.
    I may suggest you instead of using resistor and traditional cheap nonpolar caps 50v......, use professional non polar capacitor with higher voltage eg; 2.2uf~4.7uf/250v heavy duty caps., microfarad specs depends on type of tweeter power you use... trust me your tweeter coil will be save more.
    my systems doesn't fails even in many years especially for car audio competitions we used full range rms high and low freq.

    Resistance is infinite when a capacitor is connected in series because capacitors won't pass DC current. Connecting a resistor across the driver divides the current thus limiting the current to the coils.

    Depende minsan kng ilang mf na cpactor yng ginamit.karamihan 4.7 Mf ang inillagay.4.7Mf nsa klahati plng yng volume mo garalgal na yng tweeter at sobrang lkas hindi na mgadan sa pandinig kse nhhirapan na yng tweeter!mas safe ang tweeter kng 2.2Mf 100v to250v with resistor 4.7ohm 5w pero dapat series hindi susuko yng tweeter.at hindi mahihirapan yng ampli.ganon man bro.ok narin yan basta w'g lng nka full vol.

      Tweeter ko 6 years ko na ginagamit di pa ko nasunugan kahit isang tweeter. Nakalagay lang sa tweeter ko capacitor ng electric fan. Walang din resistor na nakalagay.

    I bid to dis-agree..sir magkaiba po ang speaker impedance sa speaker resistance. Tsaka di po sinusukat ng multi-tester ang capacitor resistance...talagang infinity yan..ingat lang po sir baka we are sending wrong info sa iba. Please consider RLC circuits when it comes to audio electronics because we are working with ac voltages sa output ng amplifier..may nagcomment sa ibaba, i think Mr. Diobal ang name, i agree with what he says. I think he understands the topic as he mentioned dividing networks.

    What you are measuring is the DC resistance what an amplifier see is the AC resistance ( impedance). They are different. Pag higher frequency na pumasok jn e higher sa cut off frequency ng filter niya ang basa ng amp ay equal dun sa paralled resistance ng resistor at tweeter. A resistor in series is caled Lpad. It is used to attenuate the signal to balance the level to the other driver.

    tama naman ang connection pag may capacitor baka naman ginawa ng iba resistior lang ginamit dahil wala silang capacitor kaya cguro nasunugan sila walang filter ng capacitor hahahaha!kaya tama c sir jov's iyan ang actual tutor magaling mgapaliwanag c sir! jov's

    Ayon sa napanood ko na isang vlog, nag actual sya ng 2 speaker ,yong isa naka parallel connection, yong isa series ,full volume, nangyare , unang umusok yong naka parallel at tuluyan nasunog , sa sound ,mas malakas yong naka series kumpara sa nka-parallel.
    Para walang masyadong compute siguro, 12v bulb na lng gamitin.

    Pag pinaralel mo ang resistor magre- reduce nman ang ohms at pag series nman tataas ang rate ng ohms at mababawasan ang lakas ng tweeter.. Kaya madalas masunog ang tweeter dahil hindi sya tulad ng woofer na nagba bounce... Pero mas okey ang parallel na resistor sa tweeter.. Pero hindi yan garantiya na hindi masusunog ang tweeter kc bumaba ang ohms.. Mas maganda na mag series ng dalawang tweeter na tig 8 ohms at papatak sya ng 16 ohms at tsaka mo gawan ng parallel ng resistor na 16 ohms din at papatak sya ngayon ng 8 ohms para hindi sya basta-basta masusunog dahil maintain ang 8 ohms...
