- First attempt at Ultra-Nightmare after completing all the other challenges (classic, extra lives). Taras Nabad Master Level has to be the best experience I've had on Doom eternal, can't wait for more like this.

Regarding Settings
Normally when you use a customised control scheme with L1 as weapon wheel you'll be restricted to using the left sticks directional input to select weapons. As a solution to have weapon select on the right sticks directional input, I use the Playstation custom button assignment to swap L1 with R2. So in game my weapon wheel is R2 and weapon mod is L1, but with custom button assignments it's swapped. - This only concerns players who use my control scheme. Use whatever is most comfortable.
My dude spending 90% in the air, 10% on the ground.

It allows you to have full control over your movement while also being able to aim and shoot uninterrupted
The default control scheme of the game forces you to take your thumb off the right stick to jump or dash. That's why the best DOOM ETERNAL players play like SMVR and were always in the air.
I'm just not nearly as good at it as he is but the control scheme is why I was able to complete ultra nightmare on the campaign and super gore nest master level

@@HugoStiglitz88 Yeah man I use jump on press L3 and dash on press R3 so I dash in what ever direction I want while also having full control of the camera and this eliminates the need to remove my thumbs from the thumb sticks. Makes gameplay 100x better and so much more smooth but it took a little bit to adjust to.
@@HugoStiglitz88 True, I have those controls too, except L1/L2 swapped, and it's better (I'm nowhere near as good as him either). If you don't use claw, one thing you can't do tho is jump and use mod at the same time if you have mod on L1/L2 and weapon wheel on R1/R2. Doesn't seem a problem for smvr though if he doesn't use claw. I also can't quite get used to change equipment on L3 for some reason atm so have it on the dpad so have to stop moving for that.

@@f0lzen sylar is the king of doom combos. The rocket burst quick swap tech that smvr used here was discovered by sylar. And sylar doesnt just spam one combo all the time like xaie.

I get the feeling it’s an elite/strike pack controller and he’s playing claw. The movement and press speed isn’t the same as standard controller, but I’ve seen claw players play a similar way. Paddles will help with the dodges and swaps as well. With how fluid this player is, this is my bet.

1. Use the combat shotgun more
2. Use the plasma rifle more
3. Use the chain gun more
4. Use the arbalest shots on other demons, not just cacos and pain elementals
5. Use blood punch more often
6. Don’t use the same combo for every demon
7. Incorporate the double rocket volley tech into your gameplay
8. Try to use the meat hook to stay in the air

Cyber Mancubus are honestly one of the most dangerous enemies. They inflict so much damage and in the play-throughs I've watched from top players, even they seem to always eat shit from them.

For a moment, I forgot this isn't PC. It's incredible. All the quick switching and the timing for combos done on a controller.

I realize you posted this a year ago but in doom, there is a basically a caste system for the demons and is common to enter a battlefield and see the demons fighting amongst themselves. The friendly fire has helped me a few times :)
The lore that came with game one of this era was very informative. Still playing through enteral and haven’t had a chance to read the lore yet. 😁

@@julez2106 there is a controller attachment that you can plug into a ps4 controller that adds 2 additional buttons on the back of the controller that can be binded to different buttons on the controller. Makes it so the controller can be held more comfortably and still have access to certain buttons without having to stretch your hands in a weird way you know?

how TF do u weapon switch that fast on a controller its insane
Once you have two weapons (ex: SSG and Precision Bolt), tap the switch weapon button (tap, not hold otherwise you get the weapon wheel) at the same time you fire. Depending on the weapon it changes so you either need to press the weapon mod key or not.

@@bboyraviel2911 First Thing: Don’t start with PB Rocket, start with SSG Ballista. It’s the easiest and most consistent. Once that becomes easy for you, go to SSG Precision Bolt, then PB Ballista. Then you can practice PB Rocket.
Second Thing: Don’t compare yourself to the PC quick switch gods like Xiae or Bloodshot. Compare yourself to yourself, ok? GL

I beated ultra-nightmare! I now have the gold slayer and every gold skins for the weapons! (I beated TAG2 in UN too)
I've seen what this master level has to give me and honestly, this is my next challenge! Any ideas how to get ready for this in ultra-nightmare?
Completing extra life and classic mode on nightmare are supposed to prepare you for UN. It’s a huge step up from SGN difficulty but as long as you plan out crucible / BFG usage you’ll be fine.
And if you didn’t know: Energy shield + blood punch, flame belch, grenades w/ equipment fiend rune is op.

I’m assuming you’ve seen the whole Master Level layout, so you won’t worry about spoilers, but the room right before the Final Crucible Arena, the “Archvile Room” is the hardest part of the level, for that room kill the trigger enemies so the Dread Knights, then the Tyrants, and then the shield will lower so you can go kill the Archviles. Have fun!!
@@muricaneagle666 thanks for the tip, but you can still kill demons through the shield, and you can just freeze the Archvile and then lock on burst him twice and BOOM archvile is dead

My brother has the PS5 running through the LG CX 55 on 120fps mode. I can't stress how incredible it looks. It's so intense sometimes i need a break. It's the same feeling like a rollercoaster. So immersive.

How is he doing pb rocket on a controller?
Fire -> Weapon Wheel/Switch button (tap) -> Fire.
It's possible. You shoot pb and keep holding ads while swapping. The rocket launcher should then pop up very fast. Keep the rhythm and you can do it again and again.
These videos are somehow even more impressive on 0.5x speed. You get more of a sense for the weapon swap mastery and insane movement. Never seen anything like this
