    Awesome review! We can confirm that the little rubber feet inserts are now secured into the feet. No longer an issue! :)

    I have used Aeroe handlebar cradle on approx 10 rides so far. On the first two ride with only 4.5lbs on the cradle, the cradle kept slipping lower, pressing into my hydraulic brake lines. The Clamping kept loosening. On the next few rides, the cradle slipped almost immediately with approx. 6lbs in the cradle. I then used a handlebar extender to move the cradle out from my handlebars. On the next ride with 7lbs in the cradle the extender held but the cradle clamps loosened and the cradle flopped almost to tire level and pressed against my brake lines. On my last ride I think i have found a solution. I put an additional extender under the first extender so when the cradle clamps loosen. The cradle did flop, but only as far as the second extender not into my brake lines. I now have built up the extender thickness with rubber inner tube and really cranked the cradle clamps down on the tubing. I am testing this latest version and it seems to hold. My complaint about the cradle itself Is that the dry bag (that contains my tent. fly, poles and ground sheet) keeps bouncing and keeps spinning in the cradle. It is like the cradle material is not sturdy enough to even carry a 7 lb load. Neither the company I purchased it from Mountain Equipment Co-op nor Aeroe seem to care about the lack of performance or quality of this product. This product can only be used with a lot of work.

    This is the best design I've seen so far as far as carrying dry bags. Thank you!

    Great piece of kit. I opted for the Ortlieb 13l Heavy duty dry bags and saved a bit of money.

    If installed properly will work a treat, have done 2 x Camino Trails in Europe 2500Km with 2 x PODs and Dry Bag on a trek procaliber and since have travelled 100ok around Waiheke island and done use a car as we can do all our shopping in the pods etc. However I also wrapped a road bike tube around the stay and works perfectly with no movement. - Happy bikehiker.

    Got the same rack but for normal bikes not fattys. Ref the feet, I put a drop of superglue in the cavity then put the foot back in. Also, it's a good idea to take out the clamping screws and copper grease them as they are steel but the nut is stainless steel.

    I've been running this rack with the pod bag instead of the dry bag for a couple of weeks now on my new trek Farley 9.6, it wasn't cheap($287 USD), but the Aeroe stuff is worth every dime of it in my book.

    I love the design, but Got Voile straps right by away as the original ones on the cradles are too fidgety. Also they stay better in place. IMO.
    Otherwise great service from the guys at Aeroe.

    this looks a great alternative to something like the tailfin.

    A quick question Graham. How much do you tighten the straps that hold the rack onto the bike frame? It feels to me that I am stretching the strap too much. I am a shocker for over tightening screws and then stripping the heads when I try to undo them.

      Thank you! Curious as to how much your bike weighs with out the bag, the bike as is.

    • @GrahamFootBicycleLover
      @GrahamFootBicycleLover  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@practicaldave So to give you an idea, the bike weighs roughly 28kg fully loaded including 3 litres of water. Empty is roughly 13kg. Its hard to be precise as you can imagine with all the various options for each ride. I have built one of the BowT bikes up to just over 9kg as a race bike. In bikepacking mode you have no idea its 28kg, it just rolls along over everything and climbs really well.

    I like all the inovation regarding racks and mounts for bike, But it would be great if they had just continued to add braze ons ect to frames.. sometimes I think bikes a devolving

    • @GrahamFootBicycleLover
      @GrahamFootBicycleLover  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say no, you would have to mount each cradle separately but even that could possibly end up in the wheel so I wouldn't
