- Nanaimo is a city on the east coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It is known as "The Harbour City". The city was previously known as the "Hub City", which has been attributed to its original layout design where the streets radiated out from the shoreline like the spokes of a wagon wheel, as well as its generally centralized location on Vancouver Island. Nanaimo is also the headquarters of the Regional District of Nanaimo.

Its a beautiful place no doubt. We lived there for 7 months, it tough in the fall, winter and spring….lots and lots and lots of rain. I know…its needed for what you see, learned that the hard way….so beautiful and i miss it big time!!! Even miss the rain….a little…lol

@@VeeTravels I have lived in Australia since leaving Edinburgh Scotland , and yes apart from the weather both Countries are pretty much alike , my family and i have been to Nanaimo as my wifes sister lived there , at the High rise units looking out to the sea or the Harbour , when we were there she stayed up the hill at the back of Nanaimo, loved our Month there , just like Scotland for the rain i mean that was in June when we were there with our 2 kids in 1981 .Duncan Redcliffe Queensland one can see videos of our City on this TH-cam .
