Thank you. I seem to be the only one who is interested in painting in my environment. My daughter is an artist, but she likes computer art, not the real, physical art. Be patient. Believe in yourself. Be consistent. Your channel will grow. Do what you like, not what you think others will like, but what you enjoy!

@@malgozata1875 Yeah I'm not a fan of computer art as I like the feel of the paper or canvas the skill involved to turn a blank canvas into something beautiful or thought provoking from my own hand. Then again I was never a fan of abstract art and thought it merely a nonsense but I must admit I am coming around. Some abstract art is quite beautiful even stunning. To me an abstract painter was like someone that didn't want to put in the hard yards to actually be skilled at the craft but just wanted to throw paint around. But who am I to judge and yes some of it is actually skillful. I notice you telling me to be patient a lot and not to worry about growing and to just enjoy my art? Am I coming across that way in my videos? I actually do enjoy my videos and even go back to watch them myself at times to see how I did a certain thing. I think TH-cam has a hard time with me as I am not a niche person. Really the only niche part is that I use mainly acrylics. The problem is I'm not a landscape painter or a portrait artist, a pet portrait artist or a even a floral artist for that matter. You see I love it all! On my channel I have all these genre's. From painting a GTO Pontiac to filming a pet portrait commission. A floral to painting Yoda. Drawing anime to painting a portrait of a beautiful woman's face. So as you can see very hard to label me with one thing but rest assured I love every painting I do. Some aren't great but I post them anyway as there may be something that the beginner artist might find helpful. I can put out really sophisticated higher end art but it takes me so long now days with work and family that I'd be lucky to get a video out every six months and to be honest that's no good for the beginner anyway. "I'm" overwhelmed by most of the artists on here and I can actually paint ok. The beginner would just say, ok what's the point if they started with Andrew Tischler's or Michael James Smiths. I like to think I may help get people started. Then they can progress to these guys. Hey sorry for the novel.

@@BenHeffernanArt Hi Ben, thank you for sharing. I too love the physical activity aspect of painting with real paints. Not keen on abstract art either, but then not crazy about hyper-realism either. Why bother when you can take a photo? I like for a painting to look like it has been painted. Painting different styles is fine, but be sure to use all the tags you can for each video for higher visibility out there. And, know that you won't have as many subscribers as those painters who focus on one kind of painting. That's fine, though.
For example, I am drawn to some of your art, but not everything you paint interests me. That's why I have not watched all of your videos.
I only tell you to relax and to enjoy yourself mostly based on your comments when I seem to hear that you are worried about subscribers and viewers. It's not anything you say in the video itself.
Here's my novel right back at you.
Based on watching tons of youtube videos, my advice is to stick with it. Be consistent and responsible. I.e., once you make a commitment, stick with it. Best is if you can put out at least one video every week and, when you are absent, send a community post.
And, have fun! The purpose of life is to have fun.
Anyway, no matter what, I think it is simply amazing that you and I are talking like this on two opposite world continents. It's worth all the trouble.

    Hi Ben,
WOW!!!!! That's beautiful! Thank you so much for doing this tutorial.
I will have to give it a go. I absolutely love it!
And I love your take on it because it's more colorful/vibrant than the photo. It's my kind of art.
    Hugs from Miami.

Thanks so much for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed it and hopefully you get some good tips. Have you come across Joony art yet and also Wow art? They are very similar but definitely worth subscribing to if you're into flowers and landscape painting. Here's a very early flower painting I did Bach before I started talking in my videos. This was taken from a friend's flower bed alongside their house, th-cam.com/video/7kq_2paAQHM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aetdVIkNU-0Pc0Cr

@@BenHeffernanArt I looked into Joony art, but being a beginner I like to see the process slowly and know exactly what color of paints are used, etc.... I.e., a slow moving tutorial. I also like a reference photo so that I can try to move ahead, so to speak, try my wings on my own. I have watched WOW art before. I remember the little child. Thank you.

Hi Ben, i just noticed that you don't have a "$thanks" tab in your videos. Many artists who post their tutorials do. It's not much, but it can buy you a paint or two, if you are interested. Cheerio.

Hi Eve. I'm not sure that I can do that yet. I think I have to have 3000 watch hours up from my long form tutorials. At this stage I only have 1434 hours up, so a long way to go. 4000 to get ad sense so yeah that isn't even on my radar as yet. At the moment I'm just enjoying the creation process. If only one person turns up and likes and get's something useful out of my videos then that's enough. I'm a big believer in not dying without at least sharing a little of one's knowledge. It's a boost to my confidence to get over 100 views on my long form vids though if I'm honest. You have given me some great tips too by the way. Thanks.

@malgozata1875 Another great artist I watch is Alpe Efe. Not so much tutorial driven but very entertaining and an exceptional artist!
