- Take a quick ride with us as we spend a few moments getting to know Holley Engineering Tech Jeremy Stoermer and his Lemon Twist 1970 AAR Cuda Tribute Car. This car is a prime example of America's love affair with the muscle car.
Did you say the factory HP rating was 390? That's what it sounded like. I believe the 440 SixPacks were factory rated 390.
340 SixPack were factory rated 290HP.
290 was the rated horsepower not 390

15x7 front rims with 235/60r15 rubber, rears are 15x8 rims with 275/60r15 rubber. Stock backspacing if I remember correctly. thx J
Easy to miss speak, with today's numbers bouncing around in your head, right? I was a performance Chrysler engineering machaic and driver during this time. Best job ever and my honorable discharge landed it for me in 69. Stay well. I'm not sure about the CFMs either, old brain tired. :-)
Totally minor detail, but my AAR came with brushed SS trim rings, not polished trim rings. Mine also is an console shifted automatic. There are a surprising number of COLUMN SHIFTED automatic AAR's out there, which is still a bit baffling to me.
If I live long enough, I plan on making a pink AAR 4spd tribute car for the wife.
correct, all AAR's came with brushed trim rings.. nearly impossible to find these days..
I had one just like that in 1970, it was yellow with black stripes, $6800 it cost me. Wish I had it now. I love that sound. Mine was automatic too. I had trouble with the fiber glass hood, I could see the spark plugs without opening the hood it bowed so bad. My son use get in between the seats from back. I would tell him to sit down, then I would punch it and he would go flying back. Good memories of it.
I remove the hood springs when it's stored to take the tension off the hood and prevent it from bowing up! I've heard of people putting sand bags or some weight on the edge of the hood to reduce the bowing affect also. thx J
Either you paid WAY, WAY too much, or I'm calling BS. My AAR sticker price was like $4501, and mine was a 3-plate build tag car.

Love the shift kit in that transmission. Nothing sounds quite as good as a slick shifting automatic.
Except a 4 speed!

Center carb is 350CFM not 500 on the 340 and the rated HP was 290 not 390
Tthe real AAR had a 4 speed. Right?
I have a AAR Cuda in this same color. They came in manual 4 speed or 3 speed automatic.
Needs a manual.
I don't think they come with autos

It was 290 hp not 390 that was 383 440 hp ratings unless your engine runs up to 8500 rpm you aren't close to 390 hp

Its an internal combustion "ENGINE"........................................... The heater uses an electric motor, there is a difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the out boards was 500cfm a piece not 350
center carb is 350cfm not 500
