Yes the wings ought to be (IIRC) 30% bigger. That would make it somewhat more efficient, but, as d0vwv0b pointed out, the ideal slope for us isn't close to flat. We WANT to travel at a 30 degree angle.
The wings actually do have a crude foil on them; basically, and ogive and sphere approximation. However, it turns out that your lift isn't improved much by switching to a proper NACA-12 or similar. It would reduce drag somewhat, but not so much that you'd notice with the end's square.

You can find the motor we used at pololu and search for 1120, it is the 200:1 plastic gearmotor. We run it at 12V.

I'm glad to see these in use. I proposed them in a 'nutty' inventions session for our church kids, about five years ago. Not so 'nutty' it seems.

I was just wondering how powerful was your motor?

Slocum is a brand name. There are more than those. See the "Sea Glider" designed by UW.

You can use a lead weight instead of the syringes pump water in and out, just move the weight's for and aft!!

Wings not big enough? If you pretend like you're designing air glider, a lot of downward motion with little forward motion seems like the wings are too small. Also, I didn't see that the winglets had any "foil" to them. I'll bet you could get a lot more efficient motion by making the whole thing more hydrodynamic. Even water filled nose and tail cones. Also, wouldn't one syringe be sufficient? Maybe they're for redundancy, which might be a good thing.

"chamfer" has a silent "h" like the word vehicle. (Pronounced: cam-fir) Sorry, just had to mention it.

Looks like the front will slow it down because its a flat face.

If you don't know how to make it by yourself , just go to inplix website.
