Super important video for proficient riders but beginners can take comfort from this one too. Crashing is encouraged. Not everyone is looking or caring.
👍🏽 great topic, I struggle with my goofy side as well. More tips for progressing switched or goofy tricks from people who managed to succeed would be great.
This type of video is very helpful for non pros. If I can give you a suggestion is: higher jumps to see the kite control. Usually watching you guys jumping insane high, the camera focuses on the rider, my main issue is once I jump higher, how the heck to guide my kite correctly. Just rarely in videos anyone can spot the exact kite controls. Would be dope the same type of Mircophone voice high jumps with explanations Live and seeing the kite-movement. (in this video the Switch Kiteloop Frontroll) I'd wish to see the kite as well to see how you control it fully. Thats mostly missing on all videos from any rider. As a little wishlist from my side. Keep pushing. Cheers @@stevenakkersdijk
@@noface7268 Totally see where you're coming from and agree when it comes to the ktie steering. Often choices have to be made when filming as I only have 1 videographer, so I need to choose between the overview or close up shot. Will try and mix in more overview shots and coming down from high jumps is definitely on my list.
Oh yeah! I absolutely cannot! I got used to riding frontside left foot forward in Vietnam and only now I come to balance it out and be able to ride my right foot forward. But practicing both ways is really enlightening, it makes you look at the trick at a completely different angle and improves the strong side as well. I am now at the stage where I land feet forward on my strapless backroll. It's super scary landing after a kite loop full speed in the general direction of my foil but I don't wanna do the teabag rotation - I wanna land the inverted version.
Depending on the kite position it’s not always needed. On my switch side I did pull the loop a little early and it would have made for a smoother landing if I let the kite recover behind me
Everyone crashes before they get it perfect. If they don't they're not challenging themselves enough 😉 I'm riding the CORE Link harness, it's a hybrid that fits very well to this type of riding. Using it with a slider rope. ridecore.com/us/kite/accessories/link-harness
Those are very specific issues that I can't help you with unfortunately. You'll have to see what feels comfortable and what's uncomfortable in order to find where the problem lies.
Intrestignly, I jump and backroll on left tack, can't do sht on right tack. But. Can't roll front on left tack, but easily can do it on right tack. (So, in the end it looks like: on right tack I just fail to take off, but easily do front roll - well, having lost the board hahahaha)
😂 That board is an essential part of succesfully landing the frontroll 😉. Practise your carve and pop to the right for a couple of session. No need to go high, just make sure you get a feel for the right technique, after that you should be able to get some jumps in and land the frontroll with board.
I pull kiteloops to both directions, for me it's more a preference of rotation. Generally I prefer backrolls to the right and frontolls to the left when it comes to big jumps and loops. Out of necessity I also started doing late backrolls to the left, but I feel more comfortable pulling them to the right.

Well said! Crashes are part of the game
The live audio is awesome! please do more vids like this!!! 🙏🏼 Great video as always man🤙🏼
Glad to hear that! I really enjoy it as well, so planning to do more content like this
finally someone pro talk about the low side, great video !
Glad you like it!
What an amazing spot! 😎😆💪🏾🔥
Oh yes, when you come visit South Africa we can go check it out 😉
Very good! I never practise on my bad side, it’s a bad habit, vanity!
Time to switch it around then 😉
Always crazy how you have to work through body blocks on the weak side my weak side I always have trouble getting my front leg up jumping
Repetition is key! Once you’ve overcome a couple of those hurdles it will be easier on your next try with a new trick
4:37 spotted by the GOAT
Was wondering if anyone would spot that 😉
Nice vidéo as usual. Thank you so much. Can’t wait for the next one
Thanks for watching!

Great suggestion!
Great Video. Fun to watch. Very cool hear you talking while you ride.
Glad you enjoyed it!

@@stevenakkersdijk To hear you talk through your mistakes, and how to correct in real time - fantastic.
@@johnravensbergen3324 Thanks! There is more like that coming!
It helped me a lot to land toeside or transition on my bad side, to do the simpler double backrolls frontrolls
Nice! Glad you found a step that works for you

Nice man! It's great to hear that you're switching it up. Full speed landings on the switch side can be very scary 😅
Most important kite video ever
Thanks!
Great video👌🏻 what was the location and wind conditions of this video?
I was riding at Witsand South Africa. Wind was about 20-28 knots
amazing
Thanks!
why don't you sheet out the bar shortly on the double front roll with Heli Loop bevor landing?

Nice Job with this video…
Thanks!
Great video! always reassuring to see that everyone crashes before getting it perfect, not just me😅 Out of curiosity, what harness are you wearing?

Somehow I’m better at carving and popping for jump on my bad side but fear to full send. Maybe due to less speed, any suggestions?

How's that possible ? You were competing in KOTA doing huge kiteloop backroll boardoff on the left !!!!
Are you filming switch too ? 😅
Hooo I watched the video twice and it seems with kiteloop you are switch on the right ?

So recognisable, i have it precisely the other way but yeah difference between BR and FR @@stevenakkersdijk
