correction, they NEVER shut up lol, their envy just keeps getting worse and worse, how dare he use another instrument other than the sacred cubase onto vinyl!
Damn, dood :) u set a standard for quality-per-dollar out of a single L/R mix output. U make this $400 thing-y sound better than any of the Elektron boxes up to the A4 and were approaching into DP-16 and Spectralis territory.
They very flexible and offer alot of creative options. Been using them since 2016. Never written anything as good as this though. I bought the synth and sampler to use together. Having 2 is amazing and flexible enough to use for a professional live set
If you already have any experience with these sort of boxes it takes a couple days of learning curve and I greatly recommend writing up ALL the shift and updated OS functions onto a cheat-sheet.
I've come to think of ES2 just like another instrument, not unlike a violin or piano. Helps me dial down my own expectations regarding the rate of progress.
ive had all the electribes except for the mx ones. now then. which one is the beast out of the emx 1 and the emx 2. any offers on telling ? i am so so gagging for one these and have been for a while. (i think i am sexed up about the emx1 more) coloured the sampler blue i see
hi bernard. the esx 2 has very deep synthesis where as the emx 2 has even deeper synthesis with more filters and oscillator types and options like combi's and other flashy wave forms. the thing is you can sample any synth or sound onto the esx 2 and get a massive sound almost or as good as the emx 2 (usually a better sound) in my favourite set up i have the emx 1, esx 1 and the esx 2 (few synths but not korg) the emx 1 is a mind blowing piece of kit and is worth getting on its own and not making any comparisons to any of the other electribes mentioned. its the beast of them all in my opinion. so. buy the red esx 2 and buy the emx 1 (you can mangle the esx 2 through the ex 1 and do all the effects chaining over the esx 2 that you cannot do on the actual esx 2 :) sorted

mista bishi well I was thinking about better pads for instance. As a matter a fact I have hard time making *reaaaaally* good sounds with it. I’m working on it. I have the sampler version. Sometimes I achieve nice results. I think I love my E2S more than the circuit. I even have the hang of the sequencer ^^
@@MistabishiTV I think people wanted more utilities rather than more dsp. More bars, easy copy pasting and step editing, time divisions per track, sub steps per step, better documentation and so on. Also them cracking down on the dual boot wasn't cool. The novation circuit is a great example of continued product support and improvement through the addition of features through firmware updates well into the product's lifecycle.
@@difflocktwo yeh, but it doesn't sound very good. You can have all the features and ease-of-use shortcuts as you like. If it can't sound finished and pro like a full studio, it's worthless in the current year.

Very interesting to hear your take on 4/4 - I guess most techno heads wouldn't like the constant d'n'b-like drops that interrupt the flow. Taken out of the painfully dogmatic techno context though, this approach makes it very rich and diverse - there are several snippets there that could easily extend into 10 min songs each, without all the tonal variations. cool stuff. would you care to share the pattern file for us the Electribe mortals?

@@MistabishiTV .. Thank you for the prompt reply. Over the years, I've struggled to **only** bring ES2 (and ESX) content to my channel, which is not covered anywhere else.. "Easter eggs" content, if you will. Anyway, I respect your spokesmanship for the units.
May I ask if you use any samples, or is this all from the factory sounds on the Sampler? I have the Synth model and fear I should have bought the sampler.. In brief.. why do you prefer the Sampler over Synth?
Why the preference for the sampler? Is it the resampling? The thing that always kills me is scrolling through huge lists of samples. Shaping a limited set of sounds into new stuff really appeals to me, which seems to be the idea of the E2. Which should I buy, as an oldschool wooden instrument player?
The electribe 2 synth is more of a closed system - like an oldskool instrument. The sampler is more complete as a studio tool, but less of a single perfect stand alone instrument
The biggest value proposition I'm having to fight with at the moment is being able to load your full sets onto the Sampler version. I imagine I'd learn a huge amount in a short space of time having a glimpse into your process. My use case is probably more suited to fiddling about on the Synth version however. Without having played with them I see more value in extra waveforms and filters to play with, over sampler capabilities. I can't see myself dicking about with my own samples and such when I take it out on a hike for example. That's what I want to do, climb mountains, and experiment with sounds and smash out little tunes. Is there something obviously super beneficial I'd be missing if I went Synth route? Did you do any resampling at all in Virtue Signal? What specific sampler capabilities, other than the expanded sound library, did you use in this for example?
Matt Greer Music I think it's painted sampler. It's not that blue like synth version is and there's no logos on it too. Just wondering if I could load up these presets when he release them.
Thank you: 1) for being with us 2) for sticking to your guns.
Damn, why have I only just found this banger?!? Such an apt name, given the issues in the western world at the moment too.

I could not believe it was the Es2 only. I could spot that string sound at the beginning which convinced me it is still her..
This is excellent mate. Some great bops in there.
This is an epic performance, proper mint!
you are making the world a better place my friend. not the least of which by giving out your es2 files!

Sampler
Why?
the synth version can be hacked and work like a sample, right?
