I am just having my first issue with Orchard. I have a very small channel where I upload videos to share with friends and family. Recently, I uploaded a video of a ride I had with my horse. There is, I kid you not, not a shred of music on my video. I'm trying out a new pair of stirrup irons(the things you rest your feet on) and adjusting my stirrup leathers(the strap that holds the stirrup to the saddle). In the video, I'm discussing things like why it's been so long since I've ridden. How I need to adjust my leathers because they are new and need adjusted for my height for proper position. They claimed two spots, each less than a minute long. The first was where I sigh and you hear the velcro from my camera where it is mounted to my helmet. It's complete silence otherwise. The second is where I am talking about cleaning some corrosion off of a piece of my equipment with baking soda and vinegar or possibly just a can of soda. I also make mention of the fact that one of the stirrups fell like I knew it would and slide it back into place. I disputed the claims, they found them valid. Which is absurd. Now we are in the appeal process. Which has opened up my small little channel to the possibility of getting not one but two strikes. TH-cam's copyright system has been broken for a very very long time. Even when a video is absolutely silent there are still attempts to claim content that isn't there. Which I had happen to one of my earlier videos. They need to get a handle on this.
Geez that sucks! On one hand I understand TH-cam’s dilema with millions of channels to monitor, but I also think that their dispute process needs to be improved. Your dispute should never have gotten to the appeal process. Hiper it works out for you and your channel, best of luck 🤞🏾
Orchard Music has been putting fake claims on my gaming vids for weeks because of public domain music I placed on those vids, and it's getting really annoying. Scammers, all of them.
Many artists dream of getting noticed, just not by Orchard Music with their false claims. 😂 Just noticed that all my published songs had been copyright claimed by them. Glad to know you got the issue resolved with them dropping the claim.
@@stevesmgt Well, they replied to my initial disputes by saying they think the claims are still valid. Sent them an e-mail, so let’s hope for the best. 🤷🏼♂️
By the way, the issue has been solved. (I’m humblig myself to share this embarassing story.) Turns out that the claim wasn’t wrong. The company I used to distribute my music actually works with Orchard. (This was disclosed on their website but myself being myself, I didn’t read too carefully.) So the songs I had published on my channel before were included on my ”officially” published album and their system flagged them. So, my ignorance was the reason for my experience. In this case they were not to blame.
That’s what happened to me couple of days I upload a video with the instrumental music from our Church. And the rightful owner are our church. I was just shocked this Orchard Music claimed as a copyrights. What a shame. SMH 🤦🏼♀️
Yes, sir. The Orchard is making unsupported copyright claims across the internet against 90% of any content of whatever kind is connected with my name.

I'm Quy grooves beats, music producer from Vietnam... and I'm really disappointed with the way net work the orchard music works when they intentionally steal my music to register content ID to make money from the product. my creative brainchild I don't understand why this has happened so long and so many times yet you still exist with such an ugly image towards content creators like me ! I currently have 4, 5 or even more songs I created that were horribly stolen.
This also happened with me few days ago. Luckily reuploading my vid it didnt happen anymore. But it was still bizarre that the ai or something copyrighted my bird asmr video because a marsh warbler bird mimicked an european goldfinch song. (Orchand music has a bird song named Goldfinch) Dispute didnt help as they kept their claim 😢. I am aware it was a random as no other vids I have ever got this. I felt like they didn't even care what I wrote. Hope it wont happen again.... All my videos are self recorded from nature with my own audio equipment as I love collecting bird songs. I gind it weird a bird song has a copyright ..
The Orchard Music copyright "scam" has been going on for years, and Google/TH-cam refuse to take any action, because they are in a win win situation! I have received another Orchard Music copyright claim this week. I play guitar instrumental covers, as do many others, and they are claiming copyright against me, on behalf of some Swedish guitarist who is doing the same thing. He does not own the copyright to anything he plays. The "big boys" such as Sony are quite happy to share the revenue with you, but Orchard want the shirt of your back. It is interesting to note that most copyright claims against me, emanate from "stuff" auto generated by TH-cam, under the heading of "Topic". Comments are always disabled, and you can't track these people down, to throw some crap at them. I will appeal against it but don't hold out much hope. There is a good case for hiring someone to challenge these false claims legally , if you find someone! Sorry to have banged on about it, but i am totally pissed off. Cheers! Geoff.
Really appreciate the comment! Orchard recently released the claim after I followed all the steps to challenge it. I think I'm just fortunate to have used Epidemic Sound in this case, they responded quickly and assured me I had the right to use the music. Best of luck in the future and thanks again.
People should abandon TH-cam. New authentic plateform should be introduced for musicians. Also these music distribution process also sucks, they allow to the content to be used only once in TH-cam.
Yes they claimed my original song Take My 45 several years ago and the youtube disputes went no where.. !!! Extremely disturbing that this business is allowed to continue making false claims on youtube
Yo I just got a claim from them and the thing is I get my sound bytes from a free app that you can download sound bytes from for free and they are saying that I stole lyrics from their song even though it came from the app and my song was released before theirs
Their song was “alone in the darkness” Mine is “lost in the streets” and both use the same audio meaning they downloaded the same sound pack from the same app and made a song and it was released two months after mine and are trying to copyright me and my stuff isn’t even monetized
I was able to win my appeal because I use Epidemic sound for all of my music, I was able to notify them and download the license info for the song and it was cleared after a few days. Depending on your exact situation it may be worth the fight, or you could possibly re-upload with different audio. It's honestly a tough spot to be in with TH-cams rules on this
