  • I was SO happy with how this turned out 👩🏻‍🎨🎨
And best of all, it's vegan, plastic free, palm oil free, zero waste, cruelty free & all that other good stuff 💚
    Recipe
    1/2 cup 120ml plant milk
    1 tsp flour
    Blend
Low/ medium heat stir continuously until a thicker consistency
    Around 5-10 mins
Then add 1/2 tsp oil for a smooth texture
    Let it cool
Separate & add different colours (vegan food colouring, no cochineal)
If you over cook it you can bring it back to life with more milk & banging it in the blender

I will definitely try this out. I’ve just realized how much waste I have produced in just buying the paints. I need to do this. Thank you so much!!

Why didn't you just use mineral pigments?
Food colouring is usually not designed to be photostable and it definitely lacks opacity. Lake dyes and mineral pigments is what paint makers use, not sure about lake dyes, but mineral pigments are not plastic derived and should not contain any plastic

Can you recommend some vegan cruelty free food coloring that come in glass bottles or biodegradable paclaging

Nileema Khan I wish I could!
It used to be really easy to find food colouring in glass bottles in the UK but it’s getting harder & harder. When mine run out I’ll look into if glass bottle food colouring even exists anymore. If not... I guess I’ll try making it homemade? 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for this lovely video 😊
Here is the story that lead me to it:
Yesterday I was geocaching with my wife and a friend and found a zombi face painted rock, written on the back to take a picture, post it on the facebook page, then hide the rock someplace else.
10 minutes later my wife and I were on the beach looking for rocks to paint and hide 😄
But then came the eco-vegan dilemma 🥲
Do you know if there is a solution for waterproof paint that is zero-wast, environmentally friendly, and vegan?

Yessss! I know that dilemma. Painting rocks is a sweet, but everyone uses plastic paint. Which then chips off into nature 😬
I would also love to find zero waste eco waterproof paint.
Buttt maybe for painting rocks paint with a short lifespan is better? Have fun painting them, take photos, return them to nature.
The paint will breakdown, the rocks will go back to their original state & no harm caused to the environment 💚

digital art seems to be wasteless as paint, what do you think about it? there are lots of wacom or similar graphic tablets on first or second hand market. my first intuos served me well more than 10 years with tons of drawings over the time

Very wasteless! Especially if the tech is being bought secondhand ❤️
It’s never really appealed to me as much as tangible messy art aha. But you’ve got me thinking now, I should definitely give it a go. Thank you! X

Sorry but it looks like you are using a teflon coated frying pan which is a plastic and not very ethical.

She has it. It'd be worse if she tosses it into the garbage and buys a new one

@@poopyrose8180 I hear you but my comment is just based on someone stating they are going plastic free but still having plastic coated pans that's all, All good ! She could give away her pan and buy a new one which is a good environmentally friendly solution.

@@MrMandala1111 Using what you already have is the most environmentally friendly decision you could make, actually. Creating more demand, packaging, shipping, etc. for something you didn't need because you already had it does not make sense. Everyone's really quick to point out any plastic in a "plastic free" individual's life but the reality is having a completely plastic free life is next to impossible for the average person today and none of the information about "plastic free living" would *ever* make it to you in any easily accessible form if these people were, in fact, entirely plastic free. It's safe to say that the technology she used to make this and the way she gets internet uses plastic as well, after all. "Plastic free" is used in the sense of trying to create as little demand for new plastics as we can because, again, being plastic free largely isn't possible (nor in some cases is it even the most sustainable!)

Poopy Rose & Elm are spot on!
Rule #1 use what you’ve got for as long as you can. If it breaks repair it. Throwing away should always be a last resort.
If you have any plastic-free pan suggestions I’d love to hear them for when my current pans finally stop functioning. I’ve heard about cast iron pans, but they scare me a bit aha.
And yes, I’m trying. But I still have a lotttt of plastic in my life. No perfection over here!
I get it. It’s so easy to focus on individual perfection & nitpicking.
But I think it would be way more effective to collectively turn our attention to policy makers. And the 1 million tonnes of new plastic produced every single day X

If it had plastic it wouldn't be vegan

      How do you mean?
Vegan means something contains no animal derived products.
Plastic isn’t great, and I do my best to avoid it, but it is vegan by definition.
(Most the time, some plastics do contain animal derived products, but it’s impossible to know which are which and to boycott the ones with animal derived products).
