    "Let's drink for Stalin"
    Wasn't he the guy who killed of his entire officer corps, quarreled with his best generals, sent his best generals to Siberia or to the Far East(Vladovstok), killed all the officers and officials in Leningrad after the siege was lifted (because they were a "threat" to him), "relocated" more than 20 different ethnic groups, killed all his political opponents including Trotskij (who was one of the factors the Bolsheviks won the Russian Civil War in the first place), was responsible for millions of deaths due to starvation, and was said even by his own succesors to be a terrible leader.
    Yeah go ahead and drink to that guy.

      Stalins genocide in Ukraine is on the scale of Hitler's holocaust. Stalin cooperated extensively with Hitler, they were likeminded people and they ran their countries similarly. NKVD tought the SS how to efficiently do executions and torture and Stalin and Hitler agreed to divide up Poland between them. Stalin had orphans shot because they were an embarrassment begging on the streets. At its worst there were killings by quota; they did not even bother to establish guilt (for some definition of guilt), they just had random people taken away and shot. As many as 12 000 per day died for starvation and exposure to the elements at the slave camps in Sibera and elsewhere.

      readonler You should watch the dispatches from the beginning. They've been waving red soviet flags and holding pictures of Stalin from day one. And some people in USA have flags of Confederates who supported slavery. It's a A HISTORY, and it' has historical reconsruction purposes like when americans make Fort Nox battle reconstructions. It's a Victory day.

    • @robertc3263
      @robertc3263 10 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      readonler If you fly a flag, you take the good with the bad. I lived in the U.S. in the south for a few years and encountered many people who proudly fly the confederate flag. Every person who I asked about the flag representing slavery said "It's our heritage, not hate". So if I fly a Nazi flag because I have German origins in my family tree, it's okay? How about a Soviet flag? It is JUST history, after all. The U.S. Civil War was such a brief period of time, the ideology of the confederacy should have died when the war ended. It now represents a backwards view of the world. One that upholds the absurd idea that one group of persons should be subservient slaves to another simply because of their color. At least that's what comes to mind when I see the flag. I don't see heritage, I see what ideologies like that cause. When I see idiots fly the Soviet flag, I think Stalin and Mao and the deaths of millions they caused. Those who fly the Soviet flag in Ukraine are IDIOTS.

      Who knows Soviet history better? Some English speaking dude on the internet or those people who lost their ancestors and grandfathers in war? People still believe Ukraine fought actual terrorists back then. And no wonder, people kinda turned into terrorists as the 8-year civil war (anti-terrorist operation) unfolded. And the more weapons and supplies we got from Russia the harder it was to show we're civilian resistance, not Russian army. They say "They are traitors" then kill us until we actually start resisting and they say "Told ya, they are traitors". We tried to talk sense into our own military, but all "negotiations with terrorists" were denied.

Anyhow, many people in that part of the world see Stalin as the person who succeeded in leading them, or their recent ancestors, in their struggle against Hitler. Now Hitler DID have actual genocidal intentions in regard to them, and others, and went quite far toward realizing them. Given this, their softer attitude toward Stalin is somewhat understandable.

      @JuanDeSoCal 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MarcianusImperator A lot of people go around, parrot-like, repeating the meme "Stalin killed more people than Hitler" as you just have. But, very few really bother looking into it. I actually did research it some time ago, and although the records are somewhat murky, I reached the conclusion that it is probably not true. Which is not to say Stalin didn't kill a lot of people. He did, and they were primarily those he viewed as his political enemies. The figures were later exaggerated, sometimes to preposterous levels, during the Cold War. This was for general anti-Soviet propaganda purposes, and as a broader effort on the political right to smear the left. It got to the point where figures like 80 million were being thrown out, basically blaming Stalin for every death that occurred for any reason whatsoever during almost the the entire Soviet period. It just goes to show how most people can't be bothered to think for themselves.

They are not legitimate and the people in the East of Ukraine do exactly what the people's done a couple of months ago on the Maidan in Kyiv. I do not see the difference. Why is it that you can do in Kiev is impossible in Donetsk? P.S. And Vietnam before the coming of сommunists to power, there was a civil war, or not? Supporters of South Vietnam in it is lost and were forced to surrender. In Ukraine crisis also not yet ended and the people there are still fighting with each other.

Most of the violence has been from separatists that have attacked police, beaten non separatists, and attempted to set buildings on fire with people still in them to force them out. ***** The two atomic bombs in Japan were necessary. Otherwise, the war would have dragged on killing countless numbers of both Japanese and American troops. Japanese civilians would have also been killed because they were also on the verge of fighting with their military. Numerous official sources agree with my claim.
      Germany was not necessarily saved by the USSR. The four leaders all agreed that Germany would be split into four zones controlled by the respective countries. Lets not also forget the Berlin Blockade by the USSR to seize control of the Allied side of Berlin and the ensuing Berlin Airlift by the Allies to get the Berliners the supplies and food that they needed.
      The US did NOT try to occupy North Korea, they were merely trying to end the war. After all it was the Soviet backed North Koreans that pushed South Korean forces all the way to Busan in the southern tip of South Korea in the first place. The reason why China stepped in was to protect their own interests since North Korean and Allied forces were getting dangerously close to Chinese territory.

I'm from the States, so I have to rely on reports like these (I greatly wish I was more informed). Back on to my prior statement; either Russian or Ukrainian, people will fight for what the want, and don't like to be tread upon (so to speak). Whether or not the freedom fighters (as some would liked to called) are terrorists, or heroes and martyrs is hard to say. It's all based upon perspective, per individual. On one hand though, I do feel bad for the firefighters having to put out of these fires.

    For 8 years the people of Mariupol suffered under the tyranny of the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion...
    At the beginning of this year (2022), the truth was fully revealed - according to the testimonies of the city's residents, it was Azov who destroyed their city, hiding heavy military equipment near their houses, occupying the highest floors where they had shooting ranges, shooting (and killing) people who went in search of food, water, or tried to leave the town, setting fire to their houses, raping women, kidnapping people who were tortured in the camp at the airport (many of them are missing), looting apartments, shops...
    People thank the Russians for finally coming to liberate them, they give them humanitarian aid. But...
    You will never hear this in the mainstream media of the West.

      It was a joke. Ukraine and Romania planted a russian aircraft in Kishinev with the help of fighters and interceptors. Rogozin said that the next time he will fly on the Tu-160.
      Tu-160 is a supersonic strategic bomber. It flying so fast and so high that the romanian and ukrainian jet fighters and interceptors can't catch up with it. Romanian goverment wanted to intimidate and humiliate the russian delegation, but not vice versa.
      PS: It wasn't an official government joke. Good joke.

      Jack Christian Than he should admit that he tried to make a joke, personally I am not amused. He was asked by Romania, if this represents only his personal opinion, or if this is Russia position. Rogozin answered that Romania will see very soon what he means.

    If nazis will come to your city and start murdering your neighbors in such manner I am really curious how many of you would want to live in the same state with the nazis. I think Donetsk and Mariupol are gone from Maidan Ukraine. Odessa may probably follow in a while.

      Lovely how all pro-Russians talk about the mysterious fascists/nazis and whatnot. They don't have any proof but that doesn't seem to bother them - yell "fascist fascist fascist" as loud as you can, that's all the proof they need!

    • @KulemzinNick
      @KulemzinNick 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Guys...You can talk anything about russian TV propoganda but there are some facts: Right Sector is a neonazi party. Polical party "Svoboda" is neonazi(and 10,44 % in parlament). Right Sector is a base of battalion "Dnepr". And how can't you see the difference between the wahhabits in Checnya and people from East Ukraine?

    • @KulemzinNick
      @KulemzinNick 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      untrialser Please watch some photos from L'vov (Svoda took their about 38%) where take procession with flags of SS Galichina (Galician) (I don't even talk about Bandera-their national hero)...I agree that there is some kind of exaggeration about nazies in russian media. But nazies are real power in modern Ukraine. And about Stalin...If there were no Stalin there wouldn't be any slavs in Donbass and may be no ukranians at all...

    For 8 years the conflict smoldered and now it's a full fledged war. You know what president Bush said in 1991 in his speech in Kiev?
    "Americans will not support those who seek independence in order to replace a far-off tyranny with a local despotism. They will not aid those who promote a suicidal nationalism based upon ethnic hatred." The Ukrainian nationalists did not like it when Bush said that. But later other people took over and supported those nationalists. Nuland said the US spend 5 billion $US in Ukraine. 5 billion to reshape the political landscape, culminating in the coup on the Maidan, civil war and now a real war.
