Any story you hear of some rapist or pedophile getting little to no punishment...9 times out of 10 it's in California.
It's the same here in NZ. Rapists get ridiculously lenient sentences.
The judge should have been given prison time for obstruction of justice and contempt.
This is to everyone who commented. FIRST, back off my state! Without it you wouldn't have half the fruits or vegetables on your menu and no almonds to or raisins! SECOND: The judge should lose his job and he was demoted. THIRD: and this pains me to say it, Brock didn't "rape" her by the written law, which is in desperate need of change. The law states for rape to occur, the man's penis must enter either her vagina or her rectum. This POS of a young man knew this law so he only 🙄 used his fingers and foreign objects. He got the minimal sentence for adult to adult molestation. He went to an Ivy League school and THEY are known for getting lighter sentences because they are wealthy. The poor young woman will spend most of her life (if she gets therapy) in guilt for something that wasn't her fault. This happened to me except I was walking my dog, I don't drink alcohol, and the guy was kettled to his knees. He got assault and battery (misdemeanor) and did not have to register as a sex offender. I knew I wouldn't get what was fair so my 16 yo son and I beat him within an inch of his life. My state has since changed the rape law to any penitration by anything. As I stated, BACK OFF MY STATE! The outcome would have happened in any state who has an Ivy League student in trouble. Follow the money!

I think they’re going for more basic crimes instead of atrocities. At least, that’s how I took the list. Not that it wasn’t horrible and obvs a crime, I think it’s more of a list of, like, robberies or fraud or SA instead of mass killings 🤷

Snowden is a hero. No one listened to him internally and he did what he thought was right. Whistleblowers are supposed to be listened to and protected, not pursued and accused.

As someone who was nearly taken advantage of while they were drunk and unconscious many years ago, I take this one kind of personal. I was in high school when news came up on SandyHook. I remembered that we had a firedrill at school, and I overheard one of my teachers saying that there was shooting atte school there. I couldn't watch the news about it until I got to my grandparents' house. I don't live near Sandyhook. But, after what happened, my grandpa and my brother went to the town hall, and we held a little ceremony there for the lives lost in the shooting.

I’m from 20 minutes away (Stamford) and will never forget that day..working in a clothing store while parents shopped for Christmas and suddenly paused as their phones lit up with notifications of school lockdowns and news alerts and we all shared in trying to find out what was happening a very, very short drive away. I traveled out of the country two weeks later and when people found out I was from Connecticut, all anyone asked me about was the shooting.

Sandy Hook is an event I’ll never forget. I was in middle school when it happened and I remembered cuz the shooter had Asperger’s the school took me to the school counselor’s office and asked me since I have Asperger’s if I ever had violent thoughts and I was deeply hurt and offended. I may play GTA V or Call of Duty but I never ever dream to do such a thing. It made me feel like a mutant.
