There is no issue with high-resolution mode on a m4/3 sensor. Olympus are having 80mp and the latest Panasonic cameras have a 100mp out of 25mp sensor. It works very good even fixing moving objects.
random things on my wishlist: - allow dual recording - while shooting with the tele lens, let us take photos or video with the 24mm. maybe with the faster r/w of the built-in memory this will be possible? - built-in CPL with ability to adjust/fine-tune from the controller. while ND would be cool for some folks, CPL would be far more useful to more people.
Previous leaks said the main camera was 28mm and now we hear 24mm. That's not the same. In addition, the Mavic 3 Pro's 70mm had a 1/1.3" sensor while the new specs are 50mm with 1/1.5" which is a smaller sensor not a larger sensor. The 166mm does get a larger sensor at 1/1.5" instead of 1/2".
I didn't write the specs, just reporting them. But once powering on, it would unfold the arms. One has to be careful with these auto unfold settings. Even with the RS4, it can get you in trouble.
@ I find that hard to believe that the drone arms unfold automatically that doesn't even seem like anything someone would want. I know I wouldn't more crap to break and go wrong like inspire landing gear which mine broke multiple times.
There wont be a lossless portrait mode; The gimbal cannot tilt 90° like in the Mini series. The gimbal design doesnt allow for vertical shooting. They will probably enable vertical shooting via a cropped open gate video recording.
Great update, well, I'd be happy to see more substantial improvements to the 166mm lens - my favourite! Also, I was hoping for a better sensor. Will that happen? We shall see. 👍👍
Thanks for this update :) Off-topic: TH-cam`s automatic translation function for audio tracks and titles are just crap. Even as a German, I don't want that. I can disable dubbing but titles stays in my language. If to use scripts for that :/
there is BLUR mitigation for the issue of pixel shift on the LUMIX S5 and it works PERFECT, and there is the HANDHELD mode where u take the picture in pixel shift when carrying the camera by hand I GUESS am just unsure how they will do it for a drone 🤓
Pixel shifting has been around awhile. I think the first was Olympus. Grasses etc cause blurry images. I guess they can support the 1 terabyte and larger storage cards as well. I hope the controller is backwards compatible.
As a Sony user I can tell you the pixel shift is awful and has never been great even with the newest version in the a7RV and you still have to assemble them in Sonys software.. I can’t see the drone even with good stability on a windless day being able to do it with pixel level movement.. in-camera bracketing is the closest a drone will come and how DJI usually does it in their drones (iI’m a real estate photographer and still don’t use bracketing in the air as it’s useless). Olympus and Pani do a decent job.. I just wish they make a solid large sensor with average resolution and work on the sensor performance and dynamic range without the gimmicks.. Cheers Simon
If this is true and DJI swapped the 70mm lens to an 50mm lens, I think they'd make a huge mistake. 6K footage of 28mm focal length on a 4K timeline equals about 42mm ( 1,5x magnification ) . I know it is not the same optically, but let's say - it is close to a 42mm foc.l. camera. So in theory we'd have a 28mm, a 42mm AND a 70mm ( plus 166mm) camera. BUT if DJI changes the 70mm lens- which is an incredibly useful medium-tele focal length - to a 50mm, from there jump to the 166mm lens, there would be a huge gap unfilled... By the way, these quad-bayer mega-megapixel counts are so ridiculous... Isn't 20 mp enough for watching the pictures on a tiny mobile phone screen ? :)) 15 years ago I had a 10 megapixel picture printed in 2 x 1 meter size for a photo exhibition, and it was perfect quality !
Hope DJI finally gives Davinci resolve the log input color space and gamma white paper information to transfer in Davinci Color Management or CST based color grading in the larger Davinci wide Gammut color space. Every other camera manufacturer has done this even Apple Log and Go Pro. Come on DJI you need to step up here in your calling your drones professional
@ are you referring to the Dlog that is for the inspire series drones and not for the Mavic series Dlog and Dlog M. It has been proven by top professional color graders that the Dlog that Davinci has is for the higher end inspire drones
A couple things... Why wouldn't they use tried and true Quad Bayer tech to leverage the Sony 4/3rds 25.2mp sensor to 100mp? Also, maybe you know something I don't but I don't think 1/1.5 is "larger" than 1/1.3. Just saying. Wait... I missed this. You think the arms will unfold themselves? Hahaha!!! 1. That would require a radically different fold/ unfold strategy from previous models. 2. That would require the arms to have ZERO contact with the ground and the chassis to be on a near perfectly level surface without any obstructions. 3. That would most likely slow down the deployment process rather than speed it up. 4. It's much more likely that the drone will power on when YOU unfold the arms. Much like the Osmo Mobile 6 does when it's opened. Well, your channel is the "Ordinary Filmmaker" and not the "Ordinary Engineer" so I guess we can forgive you. Although, you literally have posted pictures of the drone without "deployment" motors on the arms... The Ronin deploys itself because it is a motorized gimbal. The gimbal on a drone also "deploys" itself at start up. Mostly to test operation, of course.
4TB SSD knowing that can corrupt if you crash, etc. like my Cine did is a total nightmare. DJI had to recover my data was a nightmare. Most have no need for ProRes that's a reality too. Most can't even color grade their normal color profile footage well Pro Res just so much more to deal with. The Cine makes you more stressed too when flying because so much more invested so there's that as well. To me this should have interchangeable lenses to really make it special. Inspire 3 style but smaller platform this is not that exciting compared to Mavic 3 Pro which is a workhorse of a drone already. We shall see should have a larger sensor too. I'm sure the Cine will force you to buy their stupid smart controller which I'll never use personally either. They should allow us to buy drone only and build our care based on what we need and want to use yet they don't.
definetly one of the most ugly things ive seen... they did good design on the mavic 3 and the mini 3, but holy hell this gimbal looks awful. change my mind... (i own both drones i mentioned and they are great!)
NAB is April 6 in Las Vegas. DJI had a huge booth there last year.
I saw them at Profusion.

Hey !
I believe it refers that when you unfold the drone the drone will automatically turn on. No the other way around.
random things on my wishlist:

- built-in CPL with ability to adjust/fine-tune from the controller. while ND would be cool for some folks, CPL would be far more useful to more people.
Dual recording would be a nice feature, but would have to be implemented properly.
Take my money :) Super excited.

You might have some details wrong. It powers on after you finish unfolding the arms. Can you confirm?
Probably not since the Drone isn't even out yet and it's all speculation.

Great delivery. Very professional. Nailed it.
informative news thanks Simon.
I hope new control will also work with Air 3s
I think it will release around April May era
In terms of camera specs, nothing new compared to the Mavic 3 pro unfortunately
Thanks for this update :)

Just a quick note-Cine is pronounced 'see-nay,' not 'sin.' Thought I'd mention it in case it helps. 😊"
He just made a scene 😅
He's French, cut him some slack
Nah… “sin-ee”
Sin-a
*sin-uh

It's been around for a while, but only Sony has managed to deal with movement well enough.

Saving up now.
DJI AIR 4???

😮😮😮😮😮 4444 xq oh my take my money!!!
I belive you mean "NVME" not "NVRAM"
I can't fly drones; too many trees around me.
Oh God time to save up 5 thousand for the drone and another 3 thousand for batteries 🤦🏾♂️
I find the auto unfold hard to believe!
It could also get you in trouble.
@@OrdinaryFilmmaker Imagine them folding in during flight!
think the dude got mixed up? will turn on itself AFTER you unfolding drone.
Cine is 2tb not 4tb

@@DavieMorgan They have luts on the DJI website that converts the log to rec709. What are the titles of these videos you speak of?
Probably has resolution upscale like the R1 has to get 100mp resolution
R1 is AI upscale, not a multishot moving the sensor/gimbal.
Fake res is fake res.
Or just a Panoramic feature where it combines several frames to make a 100mp image.
@@Davitor1 possible, but it's not a new feature for the Mavic 4 pro. With the 50mp sensor on my Air 3S, I can do way more than 100mp panoramas.
