This scene was amazing. Fantasy world powers mixed with modern warfare tactics with technology used by benders. It's so unique yet somehow realistic at the sametime.
Today, the downfall of the fire nation is upon us. Not by internal factors, but external invasion. A day not dreaded and certainty not expected. Easy to repulse but will not be.
Pretty smart. The ice would also make the warhead more neutrally boyant in the water and could be shaped for accuracy. I like how it shows they don't have the technological capability of the Fire Nation but they're more imaginative.
@@rumpustime5460more innovative when the fire nation has far superior educations and engineering due to the fact they're not losing the war and get the benefits of all the resources of gained territories
In theory, the fire benders should be the weakest. Fire cannot burn earth. Fire gets extinguished by water. Fire needs air to exist. But, the fire nation seem to be the first to get a proper military going, and then devote all their points to the mechanisation skill set.
Earth Kingdom also had a proper military. The reason why Fire Nation gained an upper hand and started expanding their empire is that they had the drive within themselves, as Iroh had explained. They PRODUCE fire from within (either vitality or rage), other benders don't do that. They have the ambition and will to do what they want.
If the Command was Truly Centralized too, because as Kuvira said, normally the king of the land never had great powers beyond the Walls of Ba Sing Se, except in collecting taxes and recruiting soldiers. Perhaps the only exception to this before General Kuvira was Chin the Conqueror. This lack of Union and Strength of Presence of the Earth Kings dictated the outcome of the Fire Nation taking large portions of the West so easily at the beginning of the clashes.
The reason the Invasion Plan failed was because the Earth King unknowingly told Azula about the plan when she, Mae, and Ty Lee were posing as Kyoshi Warriors in Ba Sing Se.
What I never understood is, if they knew that Azula was behind everything that happened in Ba Sing SE, why didn't they assume that the plan would be compromised in some way?
Heat of the moment maybe realizing that the war may finally end then again a million things we're going on at the time they were so focused on getting everyone out alive at the earth kingdom they forgot that small tidbit of information
It’s a stretch but perhaps when aang “died” from azula’s lightening team avatar thought that the fire nation wasn’t expecting them whatsoever because the avatar is supposed to be dead at this point
If you think that’s bad look at ONE PIECE with almost 900 episodes of filler out of the 1042 there is, and to make things better the CREATOR doesn’t even know what the ONE PIECE is yet
I always wondered if the plan worked what would happen, you cleary see that they had already evacuated the capital, so we can assume a bigger military force , so maybe it would have been a little more challenging to invade the city , the outcome of aang having to face ozai , he probably didn't had the determination to end the war there , but it still exists the possibility of aang do it , forced by the avatar state ( if aang reached again a reconnection) .
Up until that point they hadn't shoehorned in Aang's hesitation. It was assumed he would "take down" the firelord in the same way that he'd taken down the 4598 other firebenders he's fought, but they needed some last minute character arc so now stopping the firelord specifically means killing him (not that he hasnt before, but its weird that it matters when its the big bad and not his thousand mooks Aang killed during the ocean spirit fight at the north pole, or the air temple defense where he no doubt pushed hundreds of soldiers off a cliff to their doom.)
I absolutely love how the water tribe fights, especially the non benders. Every action and reaction is thought through and clever. Switching from defense to offense whenever convenient.

To be fair they all had an objective.. plus the fire lord was aangs fight which Zuko, Sokka, and Iroh have said. Zuko needed to return to the fire nation to defeat azula so he can be crowned fire lord once ozai falls, that way Zuko can end the war and bring peace Sokka, toph, and Suki did whatever they could to stop the fire nation fleet from destroying the entire earth kingdom And of course Aang had his own fight which was always going to be a 1v1 anyways since it's the avatar's duty to end it.

My friends, today we march to the Fire Nation and end this war once and for all!
I suddenly was in the mood to watch this because of the Solar Eclipse
This scene was amazing. Fantasy world powers mixed with modern warfare tactics with technology used by benders. It's so unique yet somehow realistic at the sametime.
Today (4/8/2022) is the darkest day of fire nation history.
i knew it wasn’t just me who came to this today😭
Today, the downfall of the fire nation is upon us. Not by internal factors, but external invasion. A day not dreaded and certainty not expected. Easy to repulse but will not be.
I remember knowing this invasion wasn't gonna work because we still had 10 episodes left in the series 😂
How did you know you still had 10 episodes left? Just asking.
My guess he watched it on a streaming service rather than when it aired.
@aaronfield7899 both seasons 1 and 2 had 20 episodes so I was assuming that the third was gonna be the same
I actually watched it when it aired, but I knew it was still going to be a failure because Sozin's comet actually needed to be shown.
Yess😂😂
The waterbenders using their bending to fire the torpedos was an interesting move.

I did lol
I wish I could watch this show for the first time again
if the earth kingdom is not corrupted and fortified with a strong governance, leadership and military organization, Fire nation doesn't have a chance
In theory, the fire benders should be the weakest.
Fire cannot burn earth.
Fire gets extinguished by water.
Fire needs air to exist.
But, the fire nation seem to be the first to get a proper military going, and then devote all their points to the mechanisation skill set.

They PRODUCE fire from within (either vitality or rage), other benders don't do that. They have the ambition and will to do what they want.
And if Azula was captured or didn't know about it
well the Fire Nation also had the airships waiting so air superiority would've still defeated the Earth King's army
If the Command was Truly Centralized too, because as Kuvira said, normally the king of the land never had great powers beyond the Walls of Ba Sing Se, except in collecting taxes and recruiting soldiers. Yeah! Sounds quite exciting

Honestly if he managed to beat him down then and there maybe sokka or his dad would have killed him when they saw he couldn't do it.

pure meteorite weapons will actually be very brittle, so it's probably a mix of meteorite, steel, iron etc.

Appa is the best. Completely loyal and lovable to those who treat him with kindness. Absolutely biological tank when he's in battle mode.
Im kinda of impressed the water benders have a submarine and tanks since they live in such a more natural way of life.
The submarines were made by a combination of Sokka’s design and the Mechanist’s development. They’re unveiled earlier in S3E10.

This is the coolest battle scene. If they Earth Kingdom hadnt fallen they could have ended the war there.
If the Earth King didn't tell a disguised Azula about the eclipse, they could have won.
