Absolutely interesting, can't tell you enough how much I enjoy watching your channel. Terry, you have some great knives, and the fact you are so humble and kindly spoken just makes me happy to be a fellow knife enthusiast.
As a knife collector and historian for 42 years, I can say as a matter of fact, that the traditional Cattleman's pattern or some call it a Cattle knife pattern before 1960 is exclusively always an Equal End Cigar frame. The frame of what you have there is with no doubt a Canoe frame. I've never heard of anyone confusing a Canoe frame pocket knife with a Cigar frame pocket knife. You might as well start calling the Senator Pen Knife a Half Congress knife. That Gunboat Canoe is certainly beautiful and an extremely interesting one no doubt about that. A fascinating history behind it, but NO not a Cattle pattern.
@This_Old_Man_68 Thanks I appreciate you thoughts on the matter and I don't call it one either, I was saying I have heard someone else called it one. I have always known it as a gunboat !!
Sorry off the topic but I found a case half congress 1940-64 bone handle back in the summer at a garage sale for $1 and here just recently at the same place I got a buck usa 313 muskrat knife for $5. The muskrat knife needs a good cleaning. I think I did good for what I paid.
Hey Mr. Terry! Great video and some great knives. I would be proud to have in my collection. This is my favorite type video you make. Love you brother. I appreciate you!
That is really awesome! Great knives! Never seen a Parker canoe. Love the hundred year old pen knife! Great finds you got! Have a great end of week and weekend ahead!
You know brother every time I see you I smile . You got that genuine good person persona it was like my Papa was my dads dad he was a sweet man like you, thank you for being my best brother. GOD BLESS YOU MRS. SWEET PEA AND YOUR FAMILY 😊😊😊😊😊
Long way about to get to the most interesting knife, they were all interesting, the British collection were gems and none leaked any oil. Liked and subscribed
3 absolutely incredible traditional knives! Do not get me wrong I love your lives! But these fantastic laid back in home videos are what brought me to this stellar #1 channel!
Love those old Parkers. Well made. Found two so far. Both are Parker Cut Co - Japan. Ist one was a “Kayak” (Canoe). 2nd was a “Copperhead”. Looking for more.
Cool video. I didn't know they made a 3 blade canoe knife. I was wondering if they made a canoe with a spey blade, pretty cool.. I'm thinking on getting a canoe or stockman to carry but have no dicided yet. I do like the spey blade on a slipjoint. Thanks for sharing
@MoonChild0678 Yeah man, it's a pretty cool design for sure, and it's a little easier to carry than some stockman knives!! Appreciate you dropping by today and checking out the video!!!! Hope you have a great Friday!!!
Ive seen those called the big gun boat canoe , Rasputin's castle did a video on them last week he said it was made in England. He also calls it a cattle knife.
Scored a nice buck 301 stockman today at a antique mall for 16 bucks 72-86 model also saw an evans retractable key holder that you clip on your belt and thought of you, not sure if youd be interested in that. If so i will go back for it and send it to ya.
Sweet knife must take a lot of restraint not to tote it!! I thought gunboat was just a larger canoe? Maybe 4 1/4, I got one at case repair for handles right now so can’t measure it. I think the stockman is interesting as well with 2 makers on opposite sides. My most interesting along this story line would be 2 identical knives but one is a Case and one is Parker made same time he owned both. The Parker seems to be a tad better made.
@casexx94 Thanks friend!! Yeah man it's very hard sometimes to not carry some of my collection 😕 I would like to have one of the large ones also!! Appreciate you dropping by today and checking out the video!!!!
Could the Rodgers /Wostenholm stamp be for the scales ? Patriotic Knife and Tool did a recent video on how they were the contractors for many companies for the scales ?
Yes sir, a very interesting knife! I was diggin them all! Thanks again for another great share!
