I got it without that, because it's not a 1 frame text like some people do. And I'm glad it's not, because 1 frame texts are super annoying. They're just there to taunt people into repeatedly trying to catch them, which I'm fairly sure give videos more watch time by doing so.

Stingby does a ton of damage? Don't *all* Super Mario Odyssey enemies do a ton of damage? It's only 1 damage, but Mario only has 3 HP in this game. If I remember correctly, there is a way to get up to 9 HP, but I think that involves using assist mode and getting one of those extra HP hearts. (Correct me if I'm wrong about that last part.)
