- The simple answer is just mainly CDR items. Liandries, Ionian over sorcs, Seraphs or Horizon depending on threats, then whatever else later like Dcap, void, Zhyonas, banshees etc.

16:10 you have been chained cc'd so your q had gotten on "cooldown" twice, what prevented you from from using Q
yea you can't even pick a spellbook when getting cc'ed so you keep having to start the selection from stratch. That is one HUGE Qol buff that should happen to change that.
That's really dumb honestly. The fact that your spellbooks would be reset when you're cc'd doesn't make sense. I remember that Heimer's ult's buff doesn't go off when he's got cc'd.

@@Dyanosis Because his spellbooks aren't actual abilities so there is no reason for cc to cancel them and make you have to double select again.

i really like to play hwei like a swain (i also usually play him on top). Liandry, demonic embrace, ryli, seraph and deathcap with electrocute (getting a 2 hit combo + passive procs it) and honestly it works pretty well

Hey pekin, have you tried w max second? or at least 3 points in it before maxing e? It helps a fair bit with his mana issues without costing damage. Generally has more value since you're using it almost off cd.

Well tbf I think the point more is he was INSANELY ahead for the entire game, and he still was struggling to kill anyone in teamfights.
cuz that build does no damage the only spells that benefit from liandries is qe and ulti nothing else is DoT compare tht to liandries users like anivia, brand, malzahar, cass, they all have damage over time effects tht keep it active way longer than him... champ is way better with raw ap and pen @@samuelgames8970

Hwei's dps during those teamfights were so sad, maybe he should get a Conqueror-ish passive that temorarily grants stacking flat PEN in every initial spell hit succession.

Replying to the video's description, I gotta say I 100% agree about the CDR item choice. I've ran a Hwei CDR build a ton in arena and a few times on SR and it feels so much stronger than the generic AP/Magic Pen build. At what point should you know whether to start building Seraphs or not? Just straight from Champ Select or is there something else that'd make it an obvious buy
Sorcs build has a 2% better winrate than cdr boot, so...
Guys, listen to me, play safe from the beginning, buy dark seal and poke wait for kills, buy items and you’re good. Most importantly just play safe and utilise your abilities in case you need to escape. Play games and eventually you’ll get pretty used on him. Tbh, thankfully not many people actually know how to play against him really that well so.. yet

--16:23 I imagine that getting cc-ed on Hwei during 1st button cast will cause all subsequent button presses to be one button out of sync, causing the wrong abilities to come out, with the wrong timing.
--It's already an issue with League that getting cc-ed while pressing an ability will queue up the ability to go off after cc ends on some champs, but it won't do this on other champs. One of those things that desperately requires a clean up pass. Just like how some abilities cast at max range, while others make you walk into range. Or the problem of - what is or isn't an auto attack, and why don't all aa spells apply life steal?
Cant you just use q-e into e-e to proc your passive on cooldown? He's pulled inot slow so he cant really escape it

I discovered this build first, just saying. My Summoner is Rygieto. #Hweimain 😁 PS: electricute procs off his passive, so its better than comet in my opinion.

The issue with Hwei, is that he has access to so many different tools, that if his CD's aren't long, he just essentially has access to all tools whenever, and you get punished less for choosing the wrong one. I think buffing his damage is the best way to buff him, since it will make him feel more impactful, without creating an issue where he just does everything all at once (hyperbole I know but that would be the perception)
We dont need to buff Hwei's damage actually, he just doesnt suit the item of season 13, we need to wait until season 14 magic items arrive :)

Just went against a yone as hwei... yone is such a stupid champ... missed r, missed q knockup, buh w auto and e passsive. I even feared him, r'd, qe'd cuz he walks at u in a straight line ooga booga style and i only did 1/3rd of his health... mans was only up 2 kills 0 mr. Such a dumb champ
Hwei has low damage but some team fights were lost because your samira was absolutely useless, busy pinging instead of playing the game.

I really don't get why you keep saying he deals low damage. If you compare his full combo with... orianna, one of the champions you keep comparing him with, he deals way more damage than her.
Hwei combo: WE (3 procs) = 195 + 60%, into QE = 300 + 92.5%, into EE = 180 + 60%, into R = 490 + 95%. Let's consider just one passive proc even tho you could get two in single target with this, plus the ones from the other enemies that were togheter with the main target. That's another 180 + 30%.
All of that togheter, that's 1525 + 405.5%.
Ori:
Q = 180+70(to the first target only), into W = 270 + 70%, into R 550 + 95%, into E back = 180 + 30%. That's total 1180 + 245%. Not counting the passive auto attacks, that usually aren't really relevant in team fights.
Ori brings a slow and her R cc, vs Hwei that brings the way bigger slow on his R and the smaller pull on his EE.
I mean, i do get ori has lower cooldowns, but the difference in damage is pretty big. He doesn't do as much damage as syndra, but her damage is mostly single target or very small aoes. His damage isn't low. You were not winning the team fights because you were the only one dealing damage, that's pretty much it.

I honestly think this is one of the worst Hwei gameplay i ever seen, so many poor ability choices around E, i’m aware that this was 1 month ago but man, my eyes were bleeding. The Fear is the most powerful ability in the E book, you cant waste cd on other E spells that are very situational and weak compare to EQ. For example at 16:04 you threw EW for no reason when you saw Zac sitting mid. There are other big mistakes but this one was huge, almost every death was due to poor E usage

Ionian boots are the only way you win on hwei.
You feel like you do no damage because you have no AP.. you ended up with 400ish after a 32 minute game... no need to get a void staff when you have 200ap

Ludens is still the Hwei. Liandris is inferior imo. Hell the way you played this match even rift maker would have been good, like it is on brand
