I majored in French in college and I loved learning about like last or family names in French and how so many classic French names have ended up in very non-French areas so hearing you talking about how people in your new area react to your name is very interesting and shocking to me.
I love all of your videos. I found this one refreshing, though. I respect that you don’t want to share every aspect of your life online, but it’s nice to hear you talk about your experiences and feelings outside of books. I felt like this was just enough information and detail to make you more relatable as a person. One thing I would love is to be a part of a book club, or something along those lines, with you. I like hearing your thoughts about the books you’ve read, but I think it would be interesting to hear them while you’re reading the book. Thanks for the great videos!!
I really like this style of candid video. I work on my computer all day, and having Hailey in the background is a nice, personal change from music and podcasts.
I can relate to so much of this! The lonely feeling with Covid, the need to shift my goals online (i.e not only books/writing but more), mental health and having good days where I crush it and then bad days that make me feel like I am worthless and I can't do anything, also I moved during Covid from Ottawa to a smaller city and that was also isolating. All we can do is take things one step at a time, you/we got this. BTW, you're bookshelves look great!
I am glad that you are adjusting a little better and I'm glad to hear that you didn't give up. I am so happy to hear about your inter-ship in something that you truly enjoy. Your bookshelf looks amazing.
Even if social media is your line of work/source of income, your worth is never tied to the number of your followers or views. That's the problem with social media today--it fools us into believing we're only worth loving if the online community likes us. In reality, people don't care much about each other outside the Internet. So don't feel pressured to give us content every single day! You deserve to rest, enjoy the good weather without posting about it, and just live life the way you want to, not the way social media says you should want to if you get what I mean. I've been watching your videos since 2018 and I enjoy every single one of them. You're doing really great and you don't need to change a thing. Please prioritize your mental health--we, your followers and subscribers, will always root for you even if you ghost us for a month or so to take care of your mental well-being!
I'm so happy that I discovered your channel! You helped me rekindle my love for books and I'm now really enjoying reading again :) ❤ You have such a lovely vibe which always cheers me up, and I love your honesty! I have been struggling too so reminded me I'm not alone 😊 Thank you for being awesome!
I love organization and reorganization SO MUCH. My planner brain is really happy to watch things like that (or reorganizing myself ofc) Just finished another video of yours and now I'm going to enjoy this one
Health care in Quebec is really bad. I had a tumor on my thyroid in 2021, and I end up in private care and spent over 3500$ to get it fixed. And as an accountant, I can say you're right, we pay so much taxes in Quebec, especialy as a self employed, it's crazy. And for your french, I'm sure many people give you many advices, but the best one is to watch your favorite tv show and movie in french, since you already know what they are saying. Think in french is also easier, so you don't have to translate it as you want to speak! You got this! you can do it!
I love these videos. Makes me feel like I have someone to keep me company. The shelves look great! Keep pushing girl. It will get easier. We are rooting for you! ❤💛💚💙💜🌻
Hailey, first off I absolutely love your videos and always get so excited to see that you posted new videos. Second off, thank you so much for sharing your mental health journey. It means a lot hearing your story because I have struggled with my mental health since I was 15. It’s nice to be able to feel like I have someone to go to and see daily even through videos that knows exactly what I’m going through and has the same day to day challenges that I struggle with. Thanks so sharing your struggles and being yourself in all your videos.😊
This was such a great video Hailey. Listening to you be so candid about life in a new place is validating. While I am not in a place that speaks another language I have been in this city for some time and feeling quite lonely and not knowing how, as an adult, to make friends. This whole thing was like hanging out with a friend and just listening while they vent / talk out some life issues. Thank you, for helping me feel a lot less alone in the world.
Hailey your mental health comes first! That’s as so relatable “When my mental health is bad I become disorganized” SAME! Glad your doing better and do what ever you want. We would watch you paint a wall 🤣!
And then comes this weird cycle of being mentally better but being pulled back down from all the things I didn’t clean or do while not feeling great. I have ocd and sometimes simply don’t do things because they would involve so many steps for me that I’m exhausted before even starting 😂 That’s why therapy is so important and everyone deserves help and it’s a shame that people have to wait so long for that.

Relate SO hard to the experience as an Anglophone moving from Ontario to Montreal. It's so hard & isolating. Also, health care is awful here - I hope your experience improves soon!
I absolutely love bookshelf reorganisation videos but I definitely don't have the mental energy to sort mine out, I currently have mine in alphabetical order. You have lovely shelves btw 😘
Hailey! I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning and really appreciate the real look into mental health struggles because I have also struggled since middle school. I think I am a few years older than you but I am child free by choice and I can’t stand the number of people that try to tell me I’ll change my mind. Of course it gets less the older I get, but still it is so rude. Doubt you’ll read this but I have felt that you are a friend of mine and I 💜 you!
Love this video and your amazing channel and love your new layout of your amazing bookshelves please stay safe and enjoy your reading 📖 love your family friend John xxxx
Hi love your videos and how relatable you are. How do you put series on your shelves? I want to do a rainbow shelf like yours but what about series that are different colors?
I think you make an awesome Friend Hailey. So its mind boggling to realize that you feel so alone. I mean who wouldn't want to be around your bubbly energy of sunshine (with and without the chaos 🤣) I think Bookmarked was a great time back then. Would you consider starting your own with a new set of booktube readers? I think you would do Great and honestly (selfishly) it would be A M A Z I N G! But something to think about?
Personally I loooove your channel! I wish you would do a video like a day in the life of your internship! Anyway you look great and keep up the amazing videos
I can relate SO much to you. I’ve also been struggling with my mental health and it’s nice to see someone who gets it ❤️ . I might do I video like this soon. It seemed therapeutic for you so I might try it. Also I’m here for you if you need a friend to talk to 😁
Quick note on Quebec Health Care. QC is not really known to have great healthcare (a reason some don't move to Gatineau from Ottawa even though houses are cheaper as more options for healthcare in Ottawa/Ontario probably because QC tries to run more independently). Also Quebec people are usually passionate people and not always super welcoming to English speaking people (just the last generation would disown people who married a "Anglais" and that generation also had to fight for their right to speak French, have French services, etc). However, there is some places in QC that are amazing and super welcoming. I'm French Canadian and some of my family lives in QC, even so, some things there still jar me the wrong way. Saying that some things in Ontario jar me the wrong way too. There's good and beauty in both provinces. Just know that people being more brisk and straight up in QC is not always them being rude (though the guy at your door seemed rude) but more of a cultural thing in many cases. I know my family gatherings on my mom side (french Canadian) are way more loud, hectic, and full of action then my dads side (English).
Yeah my dad’s side of the family is French Canadian as well and it’s the same haha! Definitely I can see it goes both ways, I’m just sharing my own experience which only goes the one way obviously
Having to wait that long to find someone to talk to is really hard. I'm in the US so I don't know if there are things like Better Help and Cerebral in Canada but its like telehealth and even texting type counselors which might get you by until you get someone local, but I don't know if those work in Canada or if there is a Canadian equivalent.
Lol-I have a very Mexican first and last name and I don’t speak Spanish. The amount of people who think I’m lying 🙄 so frustrating! I can totally relate to the French name and language thing 😄
omfg that guy with immigrant part and the kids part ooof soo rude.. im on the same page on the kids i dont want any. i live south shore longueuil i do speak french but also not great i think the hardest is understand what people are saying.
I live in the South Shore of Montreal and I completely agree with you when it comes to high taxes and not getting what we pay for, and the curfew was a whole thing, so glad that's over. I am so sorry to hear of people laughing at you because of your last name, that is never okay and I hope you get to see a brighter side of this province this summer (also, feel free to ignore the seperatist "Quebec is a country" morons, that movement died in the 90s). You're doing great, lâches pas! (don't give up)
The number of book reorganization videos I’ve seen today is telling me I need to get on doing mine😂
Hooked on Hailey! Happy Bookish Tuesday Friends🙃
She makes reorganizing bookshelf look easy … I find it so stressful and it always takes me two days or more to complete it .
Same 😆 🤣 💯💯
I love these chatty videos. It feels like I get to see you on a more personal level and listening to you so is so relaxing

i love these kinds of life update/chatty videos! It feels like i’m just relaxing and chilling on facetime with someone 💕 good vibes

Is it me or i love books there so calm and nice and tbh i find it cool how she has a color coded book shelf

Reorganising bookshelves is one of my favourite things to do ❤❤❤❤
You should purchase a rolling latter and attach it to the book cases! Like in libraries or book stores! Also that way it's easier to reach stuff!
If I have bookshelves like yours. I will definitely get a ladder that rolls.

You should do more vlogs and chatty videos.
We all love you and your channel ❤️
Omg I was laughing so hard listening to your stories! Being from Québec...I feel you! We don't understand either! Ahahahah 😂

All I'm going to say is if you need to take a break from TH-cam, do it, it's ok to leave and take a break and then come back when you're better.

Early yasss!!

LOL maybe he meant ur an immigrant in that Quebec views itself as its own Nation? That's so funny
Early! :))
