Exo debut with 12 member 8 korean and 4 Chinese in 2014 kris luhan and tao left lay is still part of exo but he wasn't active in korea sense 2016 and he left their company "sm" this year but he still an official member . In obsession and dftf some of members left to the military so butttt the good news is exo will have a full comeback with the 9 members in 2023 after baekhyun get out of the military in February i believe
Btw Lay is not part of the exo officially. He didn’t sign the new contract with SM in this year but he is always with exo and exo-ls. It is just a paper for him. Especially he said in instagram post about that “I will always be the Lay when my members need me”. He is always our unicorn ❤

I agree. They had a national anthem that people can say organically came from their own countrymen's genuine interest. The other group was astroturfed and the interest was from the "outside" thats why they did not have an anthem until dynamite lol and then you can see the way love shot had an impact amongst the idols even that the other group cannot even replicate at their "peak" and this is after exo's peak lol
Also, SM Ent. sometimes doesn't promote their albums properly. Despite the fact that EXO is talented and EXO-ls are powerful enough to support the group, they never reach out to the west.

After I'm into Kpop thanks to Red Velvet & Winner in 2014 (my two ult), I'm starting to notice more & more EXO undeniably have the best discography out there. Their talent just amaze me. Then I deep dive into them, bam! I'm SM stan. Every SM groups discography & talents are legitimately great. SM rarely release bad songs. Their idols is the best in the game. They have the best vocalists & the best dancers. Just not the rappers, the rappers quite decent. but that's okay because NCT starting to show SM artists can be among the best in rap. Overall SM have it best out of everything. Management questionable, yet all companies are.
