For anyone concerned about clear speed, you can easily swap in a Chain/Pierce for Swift Affliction and you will clear even further off screen. You can also get a Poacher's Aim as stated in the video.
I've been using a similar build this league. For faster map clearing I'm a big fan of using Voidwalker boots, which gives the fireballs pierce and is just amazing for clearing
I did this build, but switched elementalist for deadeye, fireball for Kinetic Blast, and I used a 6 link Queen of the Forest. I also added a Headhunter to just top it all off. I am not sure how you could call this a budget build, when I spent over 70ex on it already. It also had a bunch of issues fighting uber elder, so I am not sure what to do about that. Do you think switching fireball for magma orb would work? I tried that myself, and it seemed to do a little bit more, but I found a chip inside my dog that the government was using to track me, and I had to get it removed at the vet, and while at the vet we actually found one in me as well. So the doctor said I don't need it anymore and took it out, but now anytime I turn on the microwave, my balls tingle.

Great guide EE, one recommendation for leveling/budget weapon for those who don't mind staves is The Searing Touch. Easy +2 fire gems and 70% burning damage, and because it's a staff it's always super cheap. Con(s): It's a staff. Even without the shield Dory's Catalyst is almost the same damage so it should be replaced ASAP.

EDIT: PS... your guides are the highest caliber from all of the guides I've seen AND tried out so far. For defensive and offensive benefit, and variation, I'd recommend looking into stacking golems rather than use two of those inconsistent ascendancy nodes. I've been poking around with it on my build and it's very mindblowing how much benefits you can gain. (600 life regen on a stone golem w/ helm enchant, 17% phys dmg reduction on chaos golem, 70% inc generic damage from fire golem, 30% inc attack and cast speed from lightning), and being an elementalist you get a lot of golem buff effect and generic damage for just having golems out handed to you free of charge! The anima stone and primordial trio are very cheap this league too which is nice.
Question about EE: If you have it, I assume a hit with Fireball raises their fire res? What if you have a source of cold or lightning damage to spells somewhere like on a jewel?
It will make them resistant to those as well if hit at the same time. Thats why we use OoS after the Fireball hits to bring their resistance back down.

Read several different Reddits Threads and got different answers: I know about shotgunrestrictions and overlapping AoE to still take advantage of GMP, but how about pure single target? Is fireball able to hit a single target twice, by hitting with the projectile, which then explodes and hits the target again for the same damage+AoE-Tag?
The AoE Explosions can overlap, but they can only be hit by one projectile. So getting a boss against a wall will result in him getting hit by one projectile hit and numerous explosion hits, however, only one ignite will apply.

Skin of the Loyal would be strongest, otherwise a shaper Vaal Regalia if you could sneak in the +1 to Socketed Active Skill Gems. Remember that Spell Damage does not scale the Ignite.
Ok... one question. Isn't burning damage calculated based on damage from fireball hits? And if so how come it does not increase by the spell dmg modifiers? Lets say my 100% spell dmg increase buffs fireball hit from 1000 dmg to 2000 dmg, shouldn't then the following ignite be stronger?
That is no longer how Ailments work. They are derived from the base damage of the skill and not hit modifiers anymore. Check out ziggyD's video on ailments from 3.0.
Still don't quite understand the whole EE usage, you hit a pack with Fireball, they gain Fire resistance, you then shield charge into them with some type of added damage to then lower the Fire res for the DOT or the other way around, lower their res FIRST for a bigger Fire hit? And wouldn't using scorching ray (scorching ray may not hit?) even with orb of storms be constantly fighting for Fire and Lightning hits? If someone could help me out here that would be great. Just seems a little odd to me to have to cast fireball which increases their resistances for a brief moment till you shield charge when the initial hit+dot without EE would probably be enough for most trash.
The first way you had it was correct. We aren't scaling the hit, but for the most part trash will still die to just that. Then the remaing ones will burn with increased fire resistance until they are hit with another element, such as from OoS or the Shield Charge. Since we don't necessarily need to worry about most trash mobs and only bosses, we want EE to maximize our damage,(however, being able to use it passively in mapping is more damage too). There we can use OoS to help reset EE from fire to lightning resistance inbetween our hits to lower fire resistance for the DoT. SR does not hit, so you will never trigger EE with it after it has been set to another element.

@@Adiusza Trickster could be done, but I think that for ignite fireball elementalist is better due to the easy proliferation from the ascendancy which really helps with map clear
Likely because Yoke of Suffering lets Fireball apply shocks and chills to enemies, chills providing safety and shocks providing more ailments for prolif, and Yoke also increases the damage enemies take, which is a more-multi on Fireball's damage. EoI can also lead to negative degeneration many builds that don't heavily invest into LL, LGoH, or Regen, which this build does none of the above.
The fireball helm enchant increases the damage of the fireball's hit. Not the ignite applied by the hit. Or it would specify that it did indeed increase the damage and ignite (or DoT) of fireball. Hope that helps
Why does no one uses voidwalkers for their fireball ignite builds? I use them on my trickster fireball ignite and they are insane. Not only providing 20% projectile avoidance+10% from Lunaris for total of 30% on top of your dodge/block(ez incursions), it also gives pierce which gives insane clear speed for ignite. I cast one time, shield charge 2 screens away while everything around me dies. It also helps if you have low cast speed as you need to cast once and the pack in front of you and the one behind gets hit and proliferates even further.
Aryan are you trying to say that it's a spell that does not "hit"? I am pretty sure it does, and that's why I am confused. The best thing I can think of is that it does trigger it, but the idea is to then swap it away with another EE of a different element using shield charge/OoS
´Fireball procs EE, makes them weak to lightning + cold. Enemy is now ignited. Now you use Shield Charge with flat dmg or OoS and proc EE again, this time vulnerable to fire & cold (if you used a lightning hit/spell). Ignite does not hit - it's a degen, so it will not proc EE and Ignite will now take the lowered enemy resistance into damage calculations.
Dænny i could be wrong here. But i believe the lvl 60 one is eternal. Which recovers mana over like 12 seconds rather than a divine which replenishes mana more in a much smaller timeframe
Dænny once again, because mind over matter. Replenishing gradually over a longer duration can potentially hurt basically the only defensive mitigation you have as a caster.
I have wanted to play a fireball build every since i installed PoE for the first time :) Gonna try this build out and see if it works for me.. Btw, I got a + 2 aoe/proj tabula and it looks like it does more damage then + 1 gem/ +2 AoE
how do you get so much ignite damage? i can only get 60k ignite damage then i hit a wall. even with empower 3 and the corrupted tabula(with the implicits) i might get slightly more once i get doryanis... still wtf

This build looks fun, but I do question what you consider the average player... you said the build could be started on 2-3 exalts, yet I play the game probably far more than the average player and only have around 160 chaos in league so far playing 10+ hours every day minus 2 days I didn't play at all.

Dude you can make 80 chaos every hour easy. Just mapping efficiently with quantity gear on, not counting big boy RNG drops. Your doing something wrong lol
lol you play 10 hours a day almost everyday and u have 160c ? i cant tell if ur trolling or really that fucking bad at path of exile. i mean lets say ur need 10 min for a map cuz ur super slow/bad. thats 6 maps a hour, 60 maps a day. you can AT LEAST do one chaos recipe everymap if u running like idk t7+ maps with alc on it. so even that alone is like 120chaos a day. you played 22 days. lets say it took u 3-4 days to maps. thats at least 18+ days of mapping. so the chaos recipe alone should have made u: 2160 chaos. even if u do one recipe per 2 maps its 1080chaos even if u ident it and only get 1c per recipe every 2 maps: 540c i bet ur just trolling but if case if u dont and u are really that dumb, start using chaos recipe.

You cannot shield charge with a wand, and you do not want added fire damage for EE.

I cast one time, shield charge 2 screens away while everything around me dies.
It also helps if you have low cast speed as you need to cast once and the pack in front of you and the one behind gets hit and proliferates even further.

Can someone explain me why EE is not triggered by the fireball itself?

Aryan are you trying to say that it's a spell that does not "hit"? I am pretty sure it does, and that's why I am confused. The best thing I can think of is that it does trigger it, but the idea is to then swap it away with another EE of a different element using shield charge/OoS
Greenjow ye, you need a hit for ee to proc, and fireball doesnt count as a hit iirc, could be wrong though
Aryan pretty sure you are, it explodes on hit and certainly has some impact damage to it.
´Fireball procs EE, makes them weak to lightning + cold. Enemy is now ignited. Now you use Shield Charge with flat dmg or OoS and proc EE again, this time vulnerable to fire & cold (if you used a lightning hit/spell).
Ignite does not hit - it's a degen, so it will not proc EE and Ignite will now take the lowered enemy resistance into damage calculations.
And why not - The Searing Touch staff ?
Because no matter how good a staff is, its not worth using because your mobility will suck.
Would this still be viable for 3.4? Silly question, I'm sure.
Why does he use a mana flask for lvl 50?
Dænny mind over matter. You kinda need mana to mitigate damage before life. Not to mention self cast a channeling scorching ray

Dænny i could be wrong here. But i believe the lvl 60 one is eternal. Which recovers mana over like 12 seconds rather than a divine which replenishes mana more in a much smaller timeframe
Dænny once again, because mind over matter. Replenishing gradually over a longer duration can potentially hurt basically the only defensive mitigation you have as a caster.

I have wanted to play a fireball build every since i installed PoE for the first time :) Gonna try this build out and see if it works for me.. Btw, I got a + 2 aoe/proj tabula and it looks like it does more damage then + 1 gem/ +2 AoE
Any reason you dont use pierce. I played it and pierce turns this into a completely different build.
Just didnt feel like I needed it, but you can use chain/pierce/poachers aim

how do you get so much ignite damage?
i can only get 60k ignite damage then i hit a wall. even with empower 3 and the corrupted tabula(with the implicits)
i might get slightly more once i get doryanis... still wtf
with SR and proper buffs, I was reaching around ~430k ignite
still a valid 3.4 build?
shroom duck yes I am on Xbox and I am pushing more to better the build like upgrading the gems corrupt them and higher tier rear items I have the dps so far at 500K also I am using a unique shaper and unique elder rings easy to buy

This build looks fun, but I do question what you consider the average player... you said the build could be started on 2-3 exalts, yet I play the game probably far more than the average player and only have around 160 chaos in league so far playing 10+ hours every day minus 2 days I didn't play at all.
Wolfsthename you're doing something wrong if you play 10 hours a day and only have 160 chaos. I've probably played 20 hours total and have double that currency.

Dude you can make 80 chaos every hour easy. Just mapping efficiently with quantity gear on, not counting big boy RNG drops. Your doing something wrong lol

i mean lets say ur need 10 min for a map cuz ur super slow/bad. thats 6 maps a hour, 60 maps a day.
you can AT LEAST do one chaos recipe everymap if u running like idk t7+ maps with alc on it.
so even that alone is like 120chaos a day.
you played 22 days. lets say it took u 3-4 days to maps.
thats at least 18+ days of mapping.
so the chaos recipe alone should have made u: 2160 chaos.
even if u do one recipe per 2 maps its 1080chaos
even if u ident it and only get 1c per recipe every 2 maps: 540c
i bet ur just trolling but if case if u dont and u are really that dumb, start using chaos recipe.
