Well ...in this case that you are discussing the S S B is used in a completely different way & the impression I'm getting is that fit perfectly alright because it gets you there in a very short time since simplifying the matter instead of using the old traditional method moving off a little bit at the time & playing around until find the zero spot I think is a simple & straight forward operation & that count when one have to manage a situation of piles of signals .
You begin by saying " once you've tuned" well, how do you tune, we are novices that's why we're watching you and like videos, please from the beginning., thankyou , all the best Rs London boy
An easier way is to tune into an SSB amateur station and adjust the fine tuning until the signal is perfect, then calibrate. 99% of all transceivers on the air today are spot on and are usually tuned to a 1mHz increment. After this process you can test it out on a few other SSB signals and with the majority being tuned in correctly tuned in will confirm accurate calibration.
these days here we got overheat, outside 38C, at room did not switched on the air condition so 31C inside ... pl-990 was need to calibrate again by - 9Hz ... example was at 13, now is 4 ... or if was 0 it needs -9 ... when heat go away will need again calibration
Hi, Thanks for info, just got my 990x ... here my case, ssb was by 13,14 hz off ... reset the radio (underneath) just for testing was spot to 0 ... video with 13 hz off at channel, will upload with reset & there after, sometime later, 73 ... EDIT anybody know how to calibrate the actual frequency at LW? it seems by 1 khz off, example medi radio 171, seems getting better at 170 (no video yet)
@@OfficialSWLchannel many thanks for fast reply to help, i done it, is easy indeed, but this seems does not help the freqs at MW & LW in normal operation (no synch, no ssb in use) which may be off by about 1 khz ... will try again
Thanks for the correct instructions. Always useful to know. Cheers!

Thank you very much! Appreciate it a lot 👍

Just a shout out to you to say TY! Appreciate the info!🤓
Very interesting sr I like shortwawes radio for many years to captar lot world stationes
A mystery no more! Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I wasted lots of time to unsuccessful calibration.

Great video.Thanks.Do you need to re calibrate when radio is switched off or does calibration hold?
calibration hold even if turned off
Thank you! I at least understand more what synchronizing is now!!!
Does this radio have air band?
no
great info
In my case, the deviation is more than 1khz and the described method does not work. Any idea ? Thank you.
make sure you did not get a early test model from China rather than the latest firmware, this works with all 990 and 990X
Is it the same procedure for PL-990?
yes

you simply tune to make zero beat and hold the LSB or USB button until the display flashes

Hi thanks for this video,
Can you tell me if a same procedure for the xhdata d808 is existing please?
Best regard Salim F4IFB
How to uncalibrate in case you mess up?
you just re calibrate
@@OfficialSWLchannel Can't go back to factory reset before calibration by pressing the reset button on the bottom of PL-990X?
Good aural training 😁
