I long for the day when all cargo has to be handled this way.
Can't wait for the mines to become a thing.
You know, actual mines which you can bury so NO ONE can see it and disarm it on a whim like in most potato shooters. That way pirates will think twice when approaching ships.
Activate mines remotely when leaving the ship. Deactivate remotely when coming back so its safe for me.
Lol I love that everyone thinks Jump Town is friendly. It’s literally called Jump Town for a reason and having a commercial with a cutty steel dropping people off under fire should be your first warning.
Captain Berks sees a backdoor left open as an invitation for some non-consensual PVP. He'll steal your ship and cargo and maybe your heart? (all while having the best hair in the Stanton system) Don't rely on seeing his name in global to warn you of the impending doom. As a known griefer on Spectrum and Reddit, he tries to keep it on the down low while mining salt from the carebears.

I just did this yesterday and boooooyyy was it fun! Even went as far as stealing boxes from other ships and placing them in mine. They had no clue😂

Well gameplay and also funny. I agree to you...open doors have to get stealed the ship. I was also haved my ship open there and splited the boxes but I was lucky you guys didnt showed up. Could make 3 runs and grab 1.3mil on this friendly way.

How do you keep such a decent frame rate. My seems to stick at 25 even when I change from 1440 to 1080.
Your CPU is a potato when it comes to SC.
You may be able to easily play MOST games.... BUT SC is quite different and single core dependent currently.

Too bad....That's the only time of the year where the "humble" SC players which gave so many REAL BIG MONEY have a chance to compensate the numerous money/time lost because of the GIGANTIC bugs of the game, which i'm totally addicted. But i have this curious feeling of always giving extra money to RSI while loosing tons of investment/time/money due to poor server quality/ approximative triggers and out of nowhere bugs leadings to vessels wiped out suddenly and without support. And though once more SC is the best game i ever played and i'm totaly addicted. And a poor skills player is my first problem, with non native language too..So for all of this reasons JT was a kind of "christmas gift" for me.....until i fall on captainBerks player stylish, except that i'm alone. Though i never let my backdoor open at least 😀
But finally on the other side i understand how it could be sadly if JT become just a "wait your turn" gift event....Those "conga lines" you described

I fail to see the problem with this... People that come in and make truces typically do this because they don't have gang of followers to work together or are in large orgs. These large orgs do the same thing with groups of 25-30.. Its not like you all split up and fight one another.. So I fail to understand how they are not playing in the spirit of the game. I mean these people are not all super SC players and will want to make money just like larger orgs.
It's a PvP event, not a hold hands kumbayah event where everyone just makes a ton of easy money. There should be some level of risk and that's exactly what Berks gave them.
Check out the Org vs Org videos doing Jumptown 2 they are amazing.
Sure if you get away with it fine hold hands. But If you get caught with your britches down then expect the screw. Its your job to keep your ship safe. The verse is the wild west in space.
@@benny_two_tacos When a big org comes in an finds an open jumptown they do the same thing. Its just that they already have an org. I mean.. Im not saying they dont have the risk. But its essentially the same thing. They just organically form to cooperate. Thats my point here. Its and event with PVP potential at its highest due to the reward and setup. However, if there is no one that wants to PVP at the time then that will not happen. This isn't saying Berks is wrong for pushing his narrative, but saying its not the spirit of the event, I'd say it is until someone pops in to play the antagonist. Which is what Berks did.
@@MooneShadow Exactly. My argument is not about what Berks did or there shouldn't be consequences around the risk. Its saying that others are not playing in the spirit of the event. Nosing down on them because of how they approach the scenario.
While it is a PVP centric event, its really monetary gain that incentivizes it. A large org exploits resources in the same fashion. They inherently have the player capital to do so quickly and with lower risk due to the number of players at their disposal. Random smaller groups or teams of folks will organically cooperate to do the same thing.
Large orgs have the luxury to make financial gains 10x over smaller groups. So expecting smaller groups to always fight one another isn't too bright on their end.
Ultimately players tend to be about gains first, before fighting. Berks has a large group and potentially endless amounts of funding via his org, play style/time and large following. Many others are not as fortunate nor have that sort of time to devote to the game - yes this is a game to many and not a lifestyle.
Large streamers and orgs have a different perspective and tend to lose sight of smaller groups intentions, needs and playstyles. They aren't kumbayah'ing out of disdain for PvP or to break the game, but to stay relevant financially in game with larger groups.

Trespassing on a ship and operating it without permission need to generate crime stats. There should be a notification to press charges for both of these (or a auto press charges setting, etc.)

I was wondering why you guys were doing that. If I understand correctly, you're saying that claiming a ship as long as the ship is in monitored space will give the occupants a crime stat? good to know if I got it right.
what I meant though was, in monitored space people should get a crime state as soon as they enter a ship without permission, and not in party (trespassing). In addition to that people should get a crime stat for operating the ship without permission (grand theft, etc.) as soon as they begin to operate it - maybe with a warning timer and a prompt for the owner to give permission. Reporting a ship stolen should only be necessary when stolen outside of monitored space.
So to do what you did you should have had to shut the comm array down.
