Guitarist is fellow Norwegian Odd Martin Skålnes who supported Aurora the first years, cowrote Murder Song and more. For more excellent story telling and harmonies I recommend "It happend quiet" live at the current. You will enjoy that.

One guitar !, one man, one gifted singer. Aurora experiences what she sings in this moment on stage herself. She visualises the lyrics of her songs. 93% of our communication is non-verbal. It is this unconscious communication with us, her gestures, facial expressions and her eyes. That is why she is best experienced live.

I'm an Aurora addict. Her songs are all different and she constantly revisits them. Yes, she tends to sing in the moment, with total emotional commitment, so her live songs are generally the best. She is highly intelligent and a thinker, so her lyrics can be intense and challenging. This is a good example. How many teenager girls would write about mercy killing and from first person point of view as well?

I am an AURORA addict an EIVOR addict. Eivor never does the song the same either, just sIngs out of her head. I can't pick between them, however a collaboration would be godly. I don't think they are listening to my pleads though.

Thanks, I really enjoyed your thoughts and analysis. I consider this one of the best performances I've ever seen (not just by Aurora). It never fails to blow me away, especially considering she was only 19 years old and by her own admission, very nervous.
Obviously, the "most played" part is next level, but I also love when she sings the lines "he cries and cries," it sounds very close to her crying herself. Like, she really makes you feel those lyrics. But then, that's the beauty of this performance overall, the way she makes you feel the story, right along with her.

Odd Martin Skålnes is the gentleman who accompanies Aurora here. He was a member of Aurora's band at her beginning, and co-produced part of her songs in studio at that time. He's a seasoned artist, and their voices harmonize well together. He really masters what he does.
Bob Dylan is one of her inspiring artist, one she used to listened to at her family home, with Leonard Cohen, among others.
Her ways to perform live are outstanding to me. They evolve as the time goes, but man there's always some huge intensity, emotional as much as tchnical, if not more.
There's, in my opinion, an important trait that you can't see by watching only one performance of a song: her tendency to vary or reinterpret her songs from time to time. Therefore, if you wish you should check out this other one, as exemple: (can be copy/paste here if needed)
    Aurora - Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) - 5/25/2018 - Paste Studios - New York, NY
There's also the one from her Nidarosdomen concert, but this concert should be discovered directly through a reaction video, to "Lucky" or to "Through the eyes of a child", in exemple:
    20171102 - AURORA - Nidarosdomen - 06/12 Lucky
    20171102 - AURORA - Nidarosdomen - 09/12 Through the eyes of a child
Anyway, thanks for this nice reaction to Aurora, this brilliant singing little moth, here as a haunting soul who lets her emotion gush before she fades away.🙂👍

besides It Happened Quiet mentioned below, Little Boy in The Grass Mahogany Session is an amazing in my view, live performance of the two of these artists about a painful and tragic incident that happened in her native country in 2015. Well worth a reaction if you haven't already.

This is obviously a fan favourite, I’m a fan (warrior and weirdo) and I absolutely love this song and performance😍
Every album of hers are different and I love each one, I’m 100% sure I’m gonna love her next album which will be released on the 7th of June👍😍
I’m pretty sure you’ll love the song and performance
“It Happened Quiet” live at Current
It was inspired by domestic violence, she gets killed and in the end she comes back to haunt him

Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen are two of Auroras big hero's. She loves them!
When Cohen died Aurora was in Chicago, when she heard she changed her concert to include a tribute, it is hardly rehearsed, but she does it anyway, I feel her!
So long Marianne..... Marianne was also Norwegian btw.....

but you havn't met eivor yet, right? falling free live at the old theater in tórshavn is one of the very best performances ever. she is easily the best female singer of our time.

Another performance which has been so expressive to me was the 2023 performance of "Unchained Melody" by Angelina Jordan (age 17) (th-cam.com/video/XxduGSjAJCo/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=BorisPalenovski). The expressiveness of that performance is quite powerful but not at all the techniques of Aurora (I do find comparing the two interesting not just because they are both so expressive but because they are also both Norwegian.)
