    When an individual makes poor choices, the impact is not limited to themselves but can spread to others just like a contagious disease. When you hang around sick birds, you're going to get just as sick, if not sicker.

      Get your info correctly. If those that do get housing are on drugs/alcohol, they will lose it soon because they're on drugs and alcohol. Because they'll spend what they do have on drugs/alcohol instead of rent and bills and no one will deal with their BS excuses.. If they choose to be irresponsible for themselves, the housing won't support them and their addiction and they'll be out on their asses without a pot to piss in., That's the truth. A responsible system won't support those that aren't choosing to be responsible for themselves.

    Hank and Steve are great reporters.

    • @AngelPerez-lw8xr
      @AngelPerez-lw8xr ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea um no. Steve hardly reports from the scene he too scared to do so. I remember I kept saying something about it for a year finally he started reporting from on scene again but before that for an entire year he was hiding in that alley downtown reporting from behind the clothes pin. And Hank is pretty good recording a segment but when he is reporting live I feel like he needs to give me whatever he is on.. idk if it's a drink or some drugs but he be stuttering looking all around acting kinda funny.
      Fox 29 best reporter is probably Shaynah and Chris and Sue and Kathy from weather. Love Mike and Alex and all the morning people. Sheba and Jason are cool too. Sheba look like she just smoked a nice blunt and is just chillen.. Dawn is great also. I say the worst are Bob Kelly Drew Anderson Bill Anderson and Breland Moore in sports. She not bad but she not good either.
      Everyone else is in-between.

    There's no industry left in the city anymore. When I was kid , I grew up in an area know as garment square. People actually walked to work. There was Botney 500. Several different clothing manufacturers. There was a Segrams plant in my neighborhood. There were several small, medium and large factories that were operational. Now all gone. In Philly if you're not in Healthcare, work for one of the several large universities, Temple, Penn or work for the city itself. Maybe the state or federal government. Septa. Without some education pass high school . It's the drive thru window at McDonald's for you. All due respect. People always talk about how politicians need to do more. Sure, but the bottom line is mofo need a job. A job paying a livable wage. Not government subsidies. A good paying job covers a multitude of things.

    Sticking or putting people into "affordable" housing is not a cure all band-aid ... alot of these people have mental issues, and or substance abuse/addiction issues. If you stick these people into these housing units, they'll wreck and gut the place up and become a danger to the building complex and it's residences. Not only that, they'll also invite criminal elements to and within the building. You'll need a 24/7 Police Presence on site like Police Liaison office to maintain law and order, and a counseling and nurse office near/on site of these apartment buildings. I've seen what homeless people do to "affordable" housing/apartment units first hand, (i was a cleaner) to these evicted and destroyed units, and you can see the destruction of Section 9 housing by these people on youtube and landlords have to fix everything up.

    They say it beats the shelter system and no doubt it possibly may but I feel the true reason people don't wanna go to a shelter is because they don't want follow rules and a curfew. They want to be homeless and enjoy the street until all hours and would love to just pop up at 2am looking for a shelter bed and its just not realistic. They will help people get housing who can commit to following their rules showing up on time and taking advantage of the shelter. My friend my got section 8 from the shelter it took 6 months but she did it. She was on time for curfew and she got her day and overnight passes and when she couldn't go out she didn't.. she did what she had to do and she got a place. Every one else just wants to be running the street getting high having their fun and smoking their cigarettes but they don't wanna obey and follow the shelter rules and really get the help. He would rather stay asking for money in the street to get a room in Kensington go figure.

    When they say the poorest they are comparing Philly to other top 10 largest cities. Therefore cities like Cleveland, Baltimore and Detroit are left out of the comparison since they are not top 10 largest. All of those and more are poorer than Philly. Surprisingly those three cities are no longer even Top 25 in population. Top 25 cities San Fran 12% and Seattle 11% poverty which seems good. The US overall poverty level is 12%. Philly 25%, Houston 21% Boston 20% NYC 19%. Philly seems high but there are cities that are higher and in many ways Philly's level is fairly common. Detroit 35%, St Louis 24% Cleveland 34% Newark NJ 28%, Miami 24%, Bmore 22%, Atl 22%, NYC 19%.
    The large cities get most of the attention but some smaller cities are really bad off such as Gary IN 33%, Camden NJ 36%, Flint MI 36% and so on ....

    I tried reaching out to Fox regarding a dirty slum lord. Philly has a housing issue across the board. And it’s not any better that the people flipping houses are renting them at outrageous cost. Kensington should not look like that it’s people that come here to make TH-cam videos. But it doesn’t seem to be sympathy for the people that have no choice but to live there. I am scare what’s happening in Kensington can happen anywhere in this city.And my family doesn’t even go to corners stores anymore. These politicians are trash.

  • @tuxitalk1World
    @tuxitalk1World ปีที่แล้ว

    This doctor is telling the truth. I used to go into small city stores and most groceries were processed food, snacks, soda. Not much in the way of nutrition and foods that children should definitely eat. Grocery stores don't want to pay higher prices for lots or rent in large buildings in the city and that's one reason why most chain grocery stores are in the suburbs. It's a shame, but it is what it is.

    I agree with and love the closing statements Hank made...the statements were well-made and honest, especially the last one about who really benefits from welfare in this country. It's like how the anti-affirmative action white people don't realize that white women have benefitted most from affirmative action than any other group. Because of them, white men have indirectly benefitted from affirmative action too.
