As already mentioned, this for me is one of the best tracks/remixes I've ever heard, and that's after 19 years listening to this type of music. It's simply stunning in every way
Yes man! It is a great tune! I've been into electronic music for 8 years approximately (Im just 23) but the 90's and early 200x's were the times. Music like this isn't produced anymore.
Amazingly this track becomes such a life soundtrack in my imagination and travels me around the past, the present and the future I dream… Mind-blowing track of a great dance music era…
Paul Oakenfold, Creamfields 1999. I heard that mix on Radio One's Essential Mix and when this track came on, it just blew me away. Fantastic set, and well worth hunting for.
First place I heard it too although I downloaded the set from LimeWire about 15 years ago, that DJ set pretty much influenced all of my musical tastes.

There are so many components to this track, each thoughtfully added or subtracted. I like that the breakdown (at 5:02) isolates the melodic underpinning of this track, and that the track reveals an augmented secondary rhythmic element, that one first hears at 1:26. Once the track completes the drop at 7:02, the enhanced rhythmic element is more evident - though somewhat understated in the mix to blend with the full range of sounds now brought to bear after the drop. Simply awesome!
I prefer it at a lot lower bpm so you can appreciate the tune's various audio levels. 150+ seems a bit frantic for me. But it still sounds as distinctive as it did back then. :)

But I'm listening to it on John 00 Fleming's December Global Trance Grooves podcast and I reckon he's playing it at around 130bpm. Way too slow in my opinion. lol. Showing my age. 140 was probably about right for my clubbing years.
I think I'm more familiar with the Alternative Mix actually: th-cam.com/video/RBU2mzWNWwA/w-d-xo.html. Which Darren Pearce and John used to play at Sunnyside Up in SW1 and Twisted events.
