Really glad you liked this. I watched the pilot a while back and was very intrigued. I might do a reaction series of my own with it. If I manage to make this TH-cam machine work correctly.
@@IsisChandler3x3 Thank you. My 1st vid comes out Thursday night. I’ll be reacting to VIKINGS, episode by episode. I have other ideas in the works, too, but I want to see how well this first bit works out.
blessed be and thank you for doing this video never heard of this show this is the first time i heard of it need to check it out for my self to see how good this show is looking forward to seeing the next video have a great day
I like the show. It had sold world building. It can be a little much at times, but my girlfriend explained it to me and it made sense. The toxicity is reversed because women have the power and season 2 addresses the power with male witches challenging the matriarchal system. By the way, I'm crushing on Anacostia and Gen. Bellwether.
all three main characters mothers were in the military but each provide a different prospective on the military as a whole if I had to describe the show to someone I would say it's a military show if you take away the magick and witchcraft. Major spoiler: the Spree isn't fighting the military they're fighting an old enemy but the military is just focused on the extreme tactics of the Spree killing innocent civilians
Neat review. I am a big fan of MFS and it was good getting your perspective on it. And I agree that a large part of what makes MFS great is the solid worldbuilding in it. I do agree whips as weapons are impractical, but I'm willing to give scourges a pass since they are magical weapons. And, I think some of the actress have talked about this, the scourges are based on "rope-darts" which were used by Chinese peasants as a weapon. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Beltane ritual. FWIW Raelle does make a rather sarcastic comment about "dancing around a pole with ribbons." (I believe Raelle follows a different faith in that she's a "Christo-Pagan." ) But for me this is part of the world-building, the idea of Witches having their own unique culture. Another thing I do agree with you is the ambiguity in the show. Yes, The Spree do have a point. (But they are also mass-murderers & their actions are, IMHO, more likely to bring back the "burning times" than anything else.) And the disconcerting ideas that Witches are now effectively members of a warrior order. (warrior-cult?) FWIW Alder doesn't, technically, suck life from her Biddies, she gives them a portion of her years. Which is why when a Biddy dies Alder ages; she gets her years back. Anyway, thank you for sharing your views.
Not sure if you take requests but I would love to get your views on 2 movies. They are older ones so if you don’t then I understand. It might open up a little more of how witchcraft and religion got skewed in people’s minds. The first movie is called, “the Other”. The second is “Audrey Rose”. Thank you for your time
I am totally hooked on this show I think it's awesome. And it is sad that beautiful people such as witches and fairies and all the things like that get bad reps when they're beautiful souls beautiful creatures beautiful everything in real life that's what I think personally!!!! I think it's show so good the choreography the acting everything it don't come up as low budget to me which I've seen a lot of shows lately have been pretty cringe definitely low budget!!! I just wish in real life there was witches and stuff like that that could come out in the opening that had real magic and that people would give them respect and treat them right without having to think that there are some evil demon you know 🤷🏼♂️👍👍👍👍
I absolutely loved the show but I did feel like there could’ve been more LGBTQ+ representation. We mainly get Scylla x Raelle and they tend to overpower the fandom on websites, which is sad to me because I don’t really ship them all that well. (SPOILERS: Idk, I felt as if they needed to talk more about what happened after Season 1, but they didn’t really only offscreen, and they mentioned some of the moral problems involved but quickly push them to the side with a kiss at the end and idk, it just didn’t seem right to bring their relationship back on like that, or at all after a previous episode where it seemed like Raelle had moved on and everything) I love the worldbuilding but I had the weapons they have! Whips really are a bit inconvenient, and I wish that they gave a more variety of weapons for the witches to choose from. I had a bit more problems, but it’s mainly about Season 2 and the pacing :P
The 1984 Dune was unwatchable. The first 30 minutes were an exposition dump. We turned it off because we were bored. Looking forward to the new one. I hope they get it right this time.
I am so excited for the upcoming 2021 adaptation! SyFy mini-series was great and the fan-eddit of Lynches Dune with all of the added book-faitful scenes is a lot better, but still difficult to watch!
I don´t think that the critics hate fantasy, but that they simply don´t like shows like this or carnival row, because these can´t compare with good fanatasy shows. You can´t compare it to game of thrones, his dark materials, even Ragnarök or the umbrella acadamy. Because there you realize that motherland is rather comparable to shows like shadow hunter, vampire diaries or the order. All of these are Teen-Shows without the true heart of storytelling, that an epic fantasy story needs. Motherland looks a little like getting away with murder, where theres is also a lot of teenie drama and teen drama dialogue which makes it a fun show to watch through on a hangover sunday, but nothing really to remember or watch again with pleasure. I think motherland has a lot of good ideas in it, but it´s made too much in the style of the shows I mentioned, the interesting storyelements are destroyed by bad teen dialogue.

Good luck with your new channel. Anybody can start a TH-cam channel and watch it grow.

Yes, they are hot!
Looking forward to your review of Season 2! Blessed Be x
We might do later seasons of show we have already reviewed. It will be a while because we need to get shows and movies we haven't reviewed done first.
I would love it if you guys reviewed The Witcher
Great idea. We like that show.
This show was great but the ending got rather messy. I love Raelle as a name.

4:!6 Whips are impractical, but theres the factor of well can they manipulate them like a mustle?
Omg can y’all do the new episodes for Season 2?? 😄😄😄 loved this video.

A great weird show, takes time to understand everything.

Would you guys do a review on The Golden Compass movie?
Great idea. We will try to get to that one.

Dune. Science based on sound waves

There is another version done by the SciFi channel which is much closer to the book. not as popular and less action

🙄
I gave it a shot and it was trash. Nothing to do with the low fantasy setting of it. Everything to do with the terrible writing
