Some great numbers there Dave. Your swing is looking very solid too, the work is definitely showing some results so looking forward to seeing how this relates to your on-course game 🤞🤞🤞
Thanks Kent. In truth, I’ve only played one game on the course, hoping to get a game tomorrow, so will see how that goes. Taking it to the course is so much harder than hitting the same shot over and over. Making improvement is hard tbf 🤞🏻😅
You have to practice this 3 times a week (M-W-F) to hang on to the speed on the golf course. I tried different speed drills 5-6 years ago at age 54 and found out that it needs to be practiced pretty regularly, but only for 10-15 minutes. I did 3 sets of 5 swings as fast as I could, with 3-4 minute break in between sets (like weightlifting) and increased my driver speed from 105 to 112-114. I used a 3 wood shaft with ferrule epoxied on like crazy and wrapped 6 ozs of lead pencil weight around it with duct tape wrapped around that. Its 1 oz lighter than driver with less air resistance. My exercise swings were 128-130 mph to see an on-course driver speed of 114 mph.
Hi. Many thanks for your comments, it’s great to hear how different techniques lead to different results. I agree about it being done 3x days per week, which I’ve deviated from, however I’m also doing it for around an hour, which is leading to some good progress and slow & steady speed gains. In truth I’m using my sessions to get good technique at the moment, so kind of doing a little bit of both.
I'm afraid that if you practice that long you may injure your wrists or shoulders. If I was going to start up again I would limit the practice to 8-10 minutes max. @@TheGeordieGolfer
I'm blending both speed sticks and the Bryson DeChambeau method. If you've not seen that video, check out my version of it and also Bryson with Rick Shiels.
Thanks David. Although it’s going to be interesting soon, as I’ve been resting a mild shoulder injury, so haven’t swung a club for 3 weeks. Will that speed still be there? 🤔 When you say SkyTrak & course software, what sort of content are you referring to seeing?

Great progress, 160 ball speed the norm💪 Can you do a review of how you use sky Trak and the course software

@@TheGeordieGolfer how you find Sky Trak as a launch monitor and how you use it for practice. Also the course software you use. Thanks
@@davidwilliams5018 ok David. I’ll have a think 👍🏻
That hackmotion sound is so annoying to listen to, just an FYI :)
Do you mean if you were using it, or on the video for viewing?
@@TheGeordieGolferViewing, sorry.
I disagree, I love that aound
@@Reapswtf ok. Appreciate that feedback so I know for future. It’s quite annoying for editing to! 👍🏻
@@huddwah it’s very helpful for practising, but it can be annoying
