When I was eight my family lost our home in the 2008 financial crash. I was an only child scared I was going to lose what few friends I had because my dad got a job offer from Japan and was considering moving us all out there. That was also around the time I got my first DS with my first Pokémon game: Pokémon Diamond. For some reason this song always gave me comfort. I think there’s a calming sense of solitude in this song that I felt like I could relate to. I’m 22 now but when I close my eyes I can remember being 8 again, walking around listening to this song and pretending I was a Pokémon trainer.
wow, this really hit me. while i may not relate to your story, ( i hope everything is going well for you now) i can understand how this song made you feel. i feel the exact same way. that feeling of solitude. an “alone but not lonely” kind of feeling. i loved this game so much as a kid, its definitely my favourite pokemon game of all time. this song is beautiful, and just like you i can close my eyes and imagine myself enjoying life in the world of pokemon.
Growing up, I almost forgot that this was the official first pokemon game that I have played but not personally owned. Maybe I got swallowed up too much by the mental challenges of going through college that nostalgia hit so much harder now.

It's 11/05/21 my Life isn't that Great i'm in constant stress and my family doesn't have many Money for paying debts . I'm sitting here, wanted to change everything and help everyone. Starting investing my Money(not to much) ... Making profit and than losing them ... I wanted to change everything Just living a day in the past when i was 11 when everything was easier.
