I’m kinda pissed. I beat the final boss, and rather than the cut scene and credits, my screen went black and soft locked. I had to TH-cam the ending just to see what I missed 🙄
The entire game was great until the Dark Realm and final boss. After hitting the orbs, the final boss goes into these phases in which there is absolutely zero hints to how counter so I just watched this video and mimicked it - boring. Why would I even fathom that frog form is needed to pull the flame from Xaros when the entire game HAS TRAINED YOU NOT TO LICK FIRE ENEMIES?
I lost to the boss once, I gathered there was a progression that didn't involve the pig, and used the frog's special. It really wasn't that had considering the other classes had you use the special.
Uhh... am i the only one who solved this Boss phases easily, without problems? "Zero Hints", well, the hint is, when he fires the floor, you have to fly, so i use a Dragon. Next phase uses the ball exactly like in one of the chest rooms, that you have to hit with a lion. So the next phase needing next animal in order - Frog, was kinda obvious. Also... "Entire game trained to not lick the enemies", but you can lick mosquitoes to restore health, and licking them doesn't harm you - unless it's a fire or ice enemy.
How are there no clues, the first phase has fire on the ground so you clearly have to stay off the ground and only one form flies (dragon), second form it's clear you have to use lion dash to defeat it as you no more than 30 minutes prior beat the exact same enemy in the dark realm. The third form is definitely the trickiest but it's clear by this point each fight is going to be a different form, and if you killed any of the amoebas in the dark realm you know the frog tongue can pull things off enemies so it seems obvious to use the tongue to pull the flames away, but it did take a second to realize that you should be going after the one that isn't shooting at you. Snake form is obvious given the moss and small battle area. Lastly human form and it's dash ability is the only viable option and one you have been using the entire dark realm.
...Um... i finished this boss easily from my second try, only because i got hit at the Frog phase. I mean, i realized that i should hit the spheres in the first phase once i got one of them lighted, and saw that other spheres are not my form. This Final Boss is very easy to solve.
I was struggling a bit with the frog part. Maybe the devs should have made it a bit more clear. Great game overall, but with a few rough edges here and there.
RaDD C The game has bonus scenes as the end. There was a glitch that often caused the game to freeze on a black screen right after beating the final boss, before the bonus scenes played. The only way to fix this was to reset the game.
Alright there's no way I'm going to beat this bullshit. Great video by the way. Seeing how the end boss is I'm done. You have already played this game for me.
@@Mockturtlesoup1 happened to me too. I just went back to switch menu, closed game and went back in and beat the boss again, then the cutscene played properly the second time!
I know this is 3 years late but it might help someone else who has the same question; to retrieve the pig form you need to go from the entrance of the dark realm to the far right. You need the golden sword to cut through the dark matter.
That is what I want after 20 plus hours, an ending showing the final blows to the boss done by an anime and not me. No, that doesn’t take the wind right out of my sails.
Oh grow up, I like it reminds me of Megaman Zx and older games that started to put cutscenes in their games. Seriously you act childish and like a boomer at the same time. Kind of annoying.
What a completely crap ending. And taking the victory away from the player like that, too? Yeesh. It's a nice looking game, but hardly worth the frustrations of the bad design choices I've experienced so far for that. Lizardcube's Wonderboy III remake is much better.
I never played any Wonderboy game, but i love Monster Boy, it's an awesome game. And ending is actually nice, i don't know what else were you expecting. And... "And taking the victory away from the player like that", i don't see the problem. I was happy yo see an anime cutscene, it felt like a PS1 era game ending. And i'm not much interested with Wonderboy III remake... the art style is not for my taste. Monster Boy looks better, as it looks like 90's Anime, and 90's had best anime style.
Jesus the rough edges this game has the moment you enter volcano till the end of the game is atrocious. The developers just fell asleep and said LMFAO ok figure it out through trial and error of dying and getting hit a thousand times for every room and every boss fight fu guys

chex yeah. really put me down. I loved the exploration and progression in the game. But some secrets and bosses are pure billshit.

Amazing game!!!! A few puzzles were too cryptic but nonetheless loved it. One of my favorites
the game has so many "how the f should I know that" moments. this shit boss is one of them. pure trial and error shit. just try every f form you have.

I recommend to never try Metroid 2 Remake on 3DS. You would hate the Diggernaut Boss.
