I was trying to make all the Super Bowl clips including the pre HD ones fill the whole screen across the whole video for a uniform seamless experience and I figured I could sacrifice screen area of old broadcasts being cropped because they didn't have any on screen graphics back then to worry about and you could still see the action on the field well
@sun-moonmedia why make the experience uniform when it wasn't? Would you use fullscreen clips of movies like Ben Hur or Star Wars so they matched the shape of Citizen Kane or Wizard of Oz?
Zooming in on 480p video makes the quality look way worse than it was and the cameramen look incompetent at framing a shot. People might falsely think "wow tv before HD was unwatchable" in the same way modern tvs sometimes make old videogames look like a youtube video from 2006.

This year's super bowl was not the "Andy Ried Special"! Tony Romo trying to get cleaver with a Eagles play that was clearly ten times better than that little play action! Tony Romo is the worst voice to ever cover football!
He called it the Andy Reid special because that was the same play they used twice in last years Super Bowl (In which they both scored TD's on), and the Chiefs have mastered that route / motion / play design. No other team or coach has utilized that play as much or as well as Andy Reid has.
