    Brilliant. I've been trying to get good tuplets since I saw Sam's m4l and I'm not sure I nailed it, this video clarified what I needed.

    Philip, this is SO great, you're talking about exactly the stuff I'm working on right now! Implementing Malcolm Braff style microtiming by simply having a 1n phasor scan through a shape~ centered around 0. and then add that to these complex rhythms, it's so much fun.

      thanks andreas! i love that idea of using shape to introduce those undulations to the clock signal. i'm definitely gonna try that

    I've been looking for easy ways to play with tuplets in Ableton, I'm going to check this out for sure!

    Thanks for this Philip! Im messing around with the patch now and its absolutely amazing, i'm wondering if you could make a version of this for MIDI out instead of samples to be able to interact with synths. I'd most certainly be interested in that tutorial as an extension of this. Anyway, THANKS FOR THE GREAT MAX CONTENT!

    after the first rate~ object, why didn't you just use subdiv~ 5 and sent it a (pattern 2 3) message?

    • @vojkofau
      @vojkofau 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      P.S. it's funny I tried it in max and (pattern 2 3) gives a "broken" output while all other combinations of 5 like (pattern 1 1 1 2) and (pattern 3 2) work properly. it looks like another bug

      @machinate 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vojkofau I can confirm, many of the things you can do with these attributes in subdiv~ and what~ seem remarkably broken. Apparently this is being worked on?

      yea i should have mentioned in the video - pattern is broken. i reported it to cycling a couple of weeks ago, i believe they are fixing
