If the anglosaxons came here peacefully and happily integrated with the locals.
      NONSENSE.
Taliesin' tells us many horror stories, plus stories in the mabbi, the Roman document from the Britons begging for help and became known as 'the moaning of the Britons'.
But the biggest clue to indicate a possible genocide and ethnic cleansing would be the large migration from western Britain to Brittany in Northern France.

1:04:00 they did NOT style themselves as princes in subservience to England. Prince is short for princep as in governor in Latin. This enraged the British and it meant king of kings for the welsh. So far this is the only mistake I have found in the entire video up to this point. Good job!

Greetings from Hungary! The welsh and hungarian history has a lot in common, especially when we talk about foreign occupation…
In the 19th century, after the Hungarian Revolution of 1848-49, Emperor Franz Joseph asked of our poets (János Arany) to write a “praise-poem” about him, and he wrote one called “The bards of Wales”. The poem is a metaphor for the Habsburg rule over Hungary. In the ballad Edward I visits the newly conquered Wales and demands the bards to praise him, but every single one of them sings about his tyranny. Later the king sends 500 bards to death, but he becomes crazy beacuse of the remorse.

Tiny (possible) correction at 1:04:10 when it is stated that the use of “Prince” was a sign of a defiance because it is derived from Princeps in Latin and would connote a status above just a king of a region. Once Cymru was fully taken over, the title’s meaning was changed from “the first man” to essentially “first in line”. I could be wrong but this is the way I’ve seen the evolution of “Prince of Wales” explained before in some sources
    (Edited time stamp)

We have inhabited our land for over 10,000 years and even the name of Texas came from us, in our language it means friendly. We were mostly an agrarian people who also traded with everyone. We built pyramids, the remnants of which remain to this day. When Europeans first showed up, we hosted Lasalle ,we had special warrior societies which made sure that they couldn't enter our lands for a set amount of time to avoid disease. "The Red Dragon of Cadwaladr" does not exist. The flag was first used by Henry Tudor, and was inspired by Owain's golden dragon, and a possibly used Red Dragon on black background design, which followed the tale of Dinas Emrys. He added the green and white to symbolise the Tudor Rose in the flag's colours. The myth of Cadwaladr using a red dragon flag is extremely subscribed too, considering no accounts from Cadwaladr's reign describe him ever flying such a flag.

i love to video but I think you made one small mistake. when the title of 'price of Wales ' was declared, 'Prince' wasn't a title considered lower than a king but actually a title previously used by the Roman emperor, thus a deliberate ploy to declare a higher standing than the king of England (at least that's what a very convincing TH-cam video i watched said)

37:16 Harold was Earl of Wessex by this time. He had been the Earl of East Anglia. He succeeded Godwin his father in 1053.
Funnily enough Aelfgar served as Earl of East Anglia after Harold and coveted the earldom of Northumbria, however, this was given to Tostig instead which caused him to protest, cause a lot of trouble and be exiled. He was eventually mollified by succeeding to his father’s earldom of Mercia, but died in the early 1060s.

    • @rhysthomas14

King Arthur was a Romano Briton who fought back the Anglo Saxons so by today's standard he was most definitely Welsh.
There is a stained glass window of him in Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff.
He is depicted next to King Tewdrig of Morgannwg (a martyr and Saint) and Cadwlader, the famed last King of the Britons.
