I found the prices here extemely good. In fact the prices of everything in Australia were better than the UK and we got so much more value for money. A meal here cost us between $10-20 that’s £5-10!!! You cannot even get a coffee out in the UK for less than £5 nowadays (well certainly not in the tourist trap I live in )
I'm curious as to why people watch your channel, and what they enjoy. You can gauge this by the number of views, though new videos take time to reach a certain viewing threshold, and won't necessarily get a lot of views the day they're posted. I noticed the videos that 'blow up' with huge numbers of views are on decluttering and your house sale falling through (though just talking about selling your home and choosing estate agents doesn't particularly draw in the viewers). I think the reason is people are entering these topics as search items in their browser, or on TH-cam. What doesn't work? Long videos, and ones perceived to be mundane, showing lots of the same thing, like you wading through that gorge, or clambering over rocks in the Australian outback. I must admit I viewed some of these videos at double speed, slowing only when you spoke! I wonder what counts as a view? Possibly only when someone watches all the way from start to finish, like I do. If you want to boost your channel, avoid long videos, try to do a maximum of 15-20 minutes per video. I know from watching property videos how short people's attention spans are. Be more focused for example, split a long video into two or three shorter ones, depending on the topic. For example, you could have divided some of the Australian videos into three shorter, more focused ones: 1. Campsite and the beach 2. Touring the market and eating 3. Chatting about your trip and anything that doesn't fit into the two above. I hope this helps. And congratulations on reaching over 500 subscribers, you're on your way now!
Hello, and how funny, I was just thinking about all this as was about to film my thoughts on reaching 500 subscribers! I am never really sure why some videos do so well compared to others. The ones that did better surprised me a lot. I am still in the trial and error stage a bit and with Australia, I did kind of promise you guys I would film it as I saw it so I remained committed to that promise but sometimes they do seem to be longer than usual and I am mindful too much of me may be toooo much! What I will say though is that although I would like to get monetised, I actually enjoy doing this. I may not be the best editor or the most entertaining person, but I am having fun making the videos. I always thought you had to be over animated but you guys are watching me just being myself! Who would have thought! You and my other subscribers have been so great as well, I read every comment and answer them all as best that I can. You offer great insights and advice and that side of having a channel was not what I expected and is my favourite part. Cheesy as it sounds, it is actually true. Thank you as always for your feedback. Noted and I will try and not waffle on so much! xx
Thanks Zoe for the walk around the markets. 😊
Amazing aren’t they! If I lived in Darwin I would be at the markets every day they were open ! X
Markets looked really good there , like you say good value for money out there unlike our expensive coffee yesterday xx
So true! I got a full meal at the market for the same price as the thimble of hot chocolate they served here in the UK! Back to our flasks! X
Tell me what was the temperature of the water at the beach like. I don't go swimming in cold water.
I tend to avoid farmers markets etc. I find the prices are very inflated if you go to tourist trap type places.
About 25-26 whilst we were here. Was very refreshing and Mindil Beqch is one of the few beaches you can swim in at Darwin.
