In this video, we'll be tracing and pronouncing 30 first grade sight words, along with some light tapping. I hope you enjoy it. :)

I love your point of view on having an accent and pronouncing words differently between different accents. Like some people say Aunt(Ant) Sally where others say Aunt(Ont) Sally. Or like my Tennessee family says , WARSH the dishes. Then people want to correct you. You know what I meant, so keep your mouth shut lol. 🤣🤣

My older sister is an English snob who always roasts me for using slang or "fake words". I love reminding her that all words are fake! We make them all up. Language is made up! Always gives me a chuckle. Thanks for the reminder!

I love tracing videos, and this one was very relaxing. While you were reading off the sight words, I put them into random sentences, which reminded me of the old days when I was in Elementary school, where they had us use certain sight words in sentences.

OMG, This is one of the best ASMR's you've ever done. I could listen to you do this all day. My Toes are tingling. to give you an idea of how difficult that is it starts at top of my parietal bone and rarely get's past my shoulders. Make many more of these please.

Lol your comment about all words being made up reminded me of a literature teacher I had in college. She once said a word that she wasn’t sure was really a word and then was just like “whatever I have 3 PhD’s, I can make up words”. It was funny haha

This was awesome. If you would do this same style with the Dolch list of words I would pay you for the video! An amazing teaching aid. You seriously should consider branching into educational content. Children's audiobooks. Things that need rote memory like math facts usually need to be repeated many times to enter long term memory. Your voice and manner make things so enjoyable to hear. I will be using this video next school year with my struggling readers. Thank you Mary!

I just think the letter “h” is so odd. To me, at least. Most letters make sense in the way they’re pronounced, except for “h”. I can’t think of a single word where the “h” is said as itself. It’s like “ay-tch”. How weird. Even with letters like “L”, it usually has another letter so it sounds like itself (ELephant for example) but it still has its own sound. But H and W are the only letters that I can think of that never sound like themselves in any English word. And why is W “double-u”, but it’s written as 2 connected V’s?
Of course I don’t know every word ever, but still.
And I’m not picking on you or your cards at all Mary. I just never have been presented with this much time to contemplate the English alphabet for this long lol. Sorry if my ramble was annoying. This is by far one of my favorite videos you’ve ever made. ❤️ And as always, your nails look phenomenal. I hope you’re doing well.
Also, this video inspired an idea 😅 What if you were to make a video with a board game? Reading the rules, looking at the board itself, going through the cards, tapping the pieces in the board, etc. I think you could get a lot of good content out of a board game. Just an idea. I always love your videos regardless of what you’re doing! ❤️

Omg yess I have been thinking about this 4 forever!! Especially bc english is not my first language. Here where I live and the language I speak, every letter is pronounced like it's written if that makes sense. Learning the letter "h", or the correct way to pronounce it, was really hard when I started to study english. And the letter "w" and "y" too. They have always confused me
Lol as a Hispanic Girl pronunciation is something i can't get right a lot of times but hey my accent does sound cool
My suggestion, you should try to do the alphabets, and shape of each alphabets.
I bet every kids listening to your smooth and motherly voice would remember the alphabet in their sleep! 😅😅😅
