- A boy is attacked by an alligator while swimming in a river. This segment was taken from Episode 309 which aired on November 21, 1991 on CBS. This was actually the third segment when the episode originally aired because one of the segments was omitted to shorten the episode to 45 minutes.
Vote for Rescue 911 to be released on DVD at www.tvshowsondv... and to be put back on television at www.petitiononl...
My relatives recently bought the neighbor's house. Miss Vernell is a wonderful lady. By the way, this is in Woodsboro, TX. It's in Refugio County, but the actual town of Refugio is about 11 miles up the road.
That’s fantastic.
Cool
What also saved Brandan was the neighbor coming out to see what her dog was barking about and started yelling
Smart dog
Maybe the dog spotted the alligator in the river.
Never underestimate the ferocity of an alligator.
That little dog must have spotted the gater or sensed danger. Also the kid was very lucky that the gater did not go into a death roll.
He has an amazing aunt!
So cute when he says " I beat up an Alligator "
"Bob, gett he fun there's an alligator with a kid in it's mouth" Greatest line ever.
You have no idea how bad this traumatized me for life!! I'm scared to jump in lakes now because of this episode!
Today's the 30th anniversary of when this happened so Brandon is 38 and Ashley is 35. This happened on a Friday. If Steve Irwin was present at the time this happened, he'd wear this alligator out. I'm sure you'd agree. I can swim great myself. I'm sure he thanked those who saved his life.
Near the end, he says he'll never get back into the river until he's 38 years old. I wonder if he's getting back in this year.
I can agree on that we had a alagater at my grandparents home in Florida it was my birthday we saw it openen it’s mouth we called 911 to remove it from the front yard
The same alligator is no doubt still out there. They can live for up to 100 years.
Damn glad I found this, I remember the theme song, the show, and this episode so well. I miss this show.
I miss my childhood in this show rescue 911...its 90s...classic TV series
Hi
It’s been 28 years since this happened so Brandon is 36 and Ashley is 33 now. When I saw that alligator attack Brandon, I was frightened. I’d hate for this to happen to me. Brandon said he’d never get in the river again until he was 38. I hope he didn’t mean that literally. Thank goodness he wore a life jacket.
I think you're supposed to run diagonal when an alligator is chasing after you.
Gina D Well there are no alligators here in england uk.
yes but imagine hard to do in the water. I don't think it should have been shot after it had already let go of the kid. If it was to get it off the kid is one thing.
At least half of the stories have no 911 call in them. Rescue 911 is more about rescues than 911 calls.
LOL I loved that scene! I used to drive my mom crazy with it
Bob get your gun! There's an alligator with a kid in his mouth!
Priceless!!!
That Is One Lucky Kid, Thank Heaven's He was wearing His Life-Jacket, But I Think the Reason that Aligator attacked Because It was Protecting the Nest.
I would never live anywhere near where there might be alligators.
He did a great job in fighting off the alligator!
“Jaws” should’ve also been the episode title
That boy is extremely lucky that gator didnt go into a death roll
vanneza2006 It couldn’t because of the life jacket.
Because gators swim in rivers to hunt. They spend a good portion of their days underwater.
I really! Feel like it's a miracle that this young boy survived an attack like that
The way she said it, it sounded like it was just an everyday annoyance. I have to admit, I laughed at that too the first time I saw it.
"Gator's got ANOTHER kid!"
Always know what country or state and understand the wildlife around and know the dangers, very important
Alligators are not "just ruthless creatures". They are beautiful beings that have been here since the dinosaur age. We tread on land that was once theirs. They are also part of the food chain. Without them, there would be overpopulation of fish and birds. That isn't good.
You must have an IQ of -15! They're predators and we kill them for self defense and for food so fuck your little psa comment!
That fat lady is as hilarious as she is marvellous. I liked her shouting, 'Git that boy outa there! There's an alligator!'
The boy and his aunt are marvellous as well.
and that's one of the reasons why alligators don't make really good pets
Thank goodness for his life jacket!
OK this is horrible and all but I lol'd pretty hard at:
"Bob get your gun, theres an Alligator with a kid in his mouth". Its like "Dem damn varmint gators hyuck"
The show actually made the Top 20 during the 1992-93 season, and also made the Top 30 during the 1993-94 season. But after that, the ratings fell steadily.
Ok, have at it, I want to see your episode re-enactment. I'd bet money it won't have over 27,000 views with a 5 star rating.
2 Segments that I vaguely remember from this episode were one where a convience store gets robbed in Texas and the one where a woman gets severly injured while attempting to stop a runaway car. Do you or Beatlemoe have either of those segments, Allgood? If so, could you put them up when you get the chance? Thank you very much.
btw the attack can be referenced to a scene shot but not included in the movie JAWS where a man saves a boy when the shark comes to attack.
Yes, the crocodile segment aired in Season 5.
It's weird to see this after 20 years
BOB GETCHER GUN THERE'S AN ALLIGATOR WIDDA KID IN ITS MOUTH!!!
Renekton: What, do I have someone in my teeth?
Today’s the 33rd anniversary of when this happened so Brandon is 41 and Ashley is 38. At the time this happened I had just turned nine and my brother Andrew was one month away from his seventh birthday. We were living in Fountain Hills, Arizona at the time and were getting ready to start school. Andrew was going to start first grade and I was starting third grade. We were attending McDowell Mountain Elementary School.
I remember watching this as a kid.
Who doesn't?
There actually was another segment where multiple people got attacked by a crocodile. One of them had to get his arm amputated.
Kids and alligators don't mix, because they'll end up severely hurt or dead like Sally Slater the tightrope walker from The Haunted Mansion which is a scary dark ride located in Disneyland (Anaheim, CA), Walt Disney World AKA The Magic Kingdom (Orlando, FL) and Tokyo Disneyland (Japan's capital) did in the comics, because she was the bad guy.
Refugio, TX.
Nice shot Bob
bob get he gun!there's an alligator with a kid it its mouth!
i don't know why but that made me laugh.
Not all rivers are polluted.
"BOB! Get the gun! There's an alligator with a kid in his mouth!" Lol...that's the funniest thing I've ever heard.
Does the crocodile segment air in a later season.....??
We got the alligator segment, the shark segment, what about the crocidile...
There actually was an episode where someone got attacked by a great white shark. It bit his arm off.
Alligators usually kill their prey before they eat it. The gator was trying to grab the kid and pull him underwater to drown him.
BOB! Get the gun! There's an alligator with a kid in its mouth! Lol
I think this is should be on tv! that must have hurt!
Seriously, who the hell swims in a river full of aligators?
Who takes little children into alligator infested waters for a swim? JEEZ, get a swimming pool or go to a stream!
Lol =D "I'm kind of proud of myself.. I beat up an aligator!"
I can count the pixels of this video.
Game warden could say whatever he wants but, as a Florida resident myself I will tell you that if you live in gator country, you need to be staying out of the water. I cannot believe that people swim in waters that they KNOW have gators. Yeah, they wont bother you. pfft, not unless it's hungry! How are you you supposed to know when one is hungry enough?? No thank you, I will stay on land.
This is one of the first vids on youtube
I remember the shark segment. Another segment that I remember from that episode is the one where a man falls off a cliff, which is one of my favorite segments because it takes place at Fern Cliff in Goreville, IL, which was where my parents got married in April of 1983. When you get the chance, Allgood, could you put up that segment, if you have it? I would love to see that one again. Thank you very much.
Well I haven't done any research on this, but I'm guessing it's probably safer to swim in a river or lake than it is to swim in the ocean.
Alligators and crocodiles are my favorite predators in the animal kingdom.
@TyrantStudios
I seriously doubt the kid would have that much strength lol
btw my fair has a baby gator display that has live baby gators and i bravely held one of them.
No kidding!! I need to see that!!
@GoodPointpogo Low ratings, most likely. CBS was behind in the ratings in the 1994-1995 season, so they got rid of a bunch of their old shows to try out new shows. They brought Rescue 911 back as a midseason replacement in 1996, but the show had already been cancelled by that time, and they were just burning off the episodes they had ordered.
Yes, but the end gets cut off.
It's so very Texas isn't it?
@mordmil10 i'm so glad that i'm not the only one. honestly i almost spat out my drink!!
I used an older program to capture this one, and the audio transfer wasn't as good.
What's up with the audio qualities of this segment?
there's a wierd problem with my sound!
jesus murphy how big was that monster?!?
"Bob, get the gun!"
Should've stayed away... Terrible decision...🐊
That kid is so lucky that the gator didn't do the "death roll"
The life jacket may have prevented him from going underwater.
@allgood2000 I wonder how many of those shows I knew like this one were taken down.
I grew up with alligators.
Does anyone know how the Stapleton's, Vernell, or the Herndon's are doing these days?
Don't you mean POKE them in the eyes? lol
That was some lazy alligator!
Usually they do their "death-roll"... where they grab their prey and roll them continuously to drown and dismember them.
Alligators🐊 are very dangerous animals if you either go within 50ft from them, go in or right near their waters, or go near their nests.
LOL
I was 3 days old :)
Haha i like that firecracker rifle...
Actualy I think the guy sticks his hand under the dishwasher and gets electricuted-not an oven. I too want to see those segments!! I think it's a leopard, not a jaguar the lady gets attacked by..
the sound is messed up BIG time
Holy crud
If this was Star Trek related, I’d probably stun it with a phaser
at least the kid was wearing a life jacket or else the alligator could have bitten him on the side as well or he could have drown from trying to fight off the alligator
nobody called 911 in this one
Kirk was just in a suit in the beginning!
a .22? is he out of his mind?! that won't kill it, that will just piss it off. the only way a .22 will take down a gator, is if you're a crackshot and get it through its eyeball. that's the only way... you need heavier firepower for them!
Yes
That's because native Floridians have the same lax attitude that the folks in this video had. "If you don't bother them, they wont bother you." Yeah right! AS IF you could swim in waters with predators all around you and have the right not to expect a tragedy!! People don't take this stuff seriously enough here. I am not a native, and I do NOT like sharing my space with these animals. I stay as far away from rivers, lakes, streams..PUDDLES, any body of water here as possible!
@fangzupkobrastyle i have to agree. i love the 90s
Oh no, look behind you, near the couch, it's an ALIGATOR, oh no it isn't, it is your fatheaded cat :o) xoxo Hunting you down
He used a 22? I would have used at least a 12 guage!
"New Zealand Shark Attack" from Episode 602.
@jwade161 It was cancelled because of low ratings. The show had already been cancelled for three years when Shatner's wife died.
lol, for the big lady
@TyrantStudios Thinking he's food is 'no' excuse.
i swear i rember watching thie fresh ou the tub every night i probly was 8-9 yrs old
12 years ago. wow
