He didn't burn to death, while Murcielago is pretty strong it's biggest weakness when using second stage is that when your second bar runs out, your health rapidly drains until you die (it only goes down by using Res skills.), and the X move on Ryujin Jakka is good to keep people off you and the amount you usually take doesn't compare to the damage you deal to others, if you're prestige 5 with damage buffs it does 50 a tick on other players or on npcs while you take around 5-8 damage, it also sometimes does burn on top of that which can prevent them from charging, you get a 15% damage reduction buff from Zanka no Tachi and it stacks with your base dmg reduction, so it's about 30% in your Bankai, if you want to maximize the effectiveness of your Vizard mask then you should only use it when your Bankai runs out since it lasts until it breaks rather than having a time limit, so you can always have something to fall back on if someone lives through your whole time limit.
If you’re not using ur vizard mask you’re literally missing out on extra free dmg the cero move and the extra hp because going into bankai with the vizard mask gives you back the vizard hp if you lost it
For the X move, I usually just don't get the last node for it so I keep the upgrade where I take no damage from it, that way you cam just camp in it and charge reiatsu

btw Infernasu you can raise your level cap to 150 if you go to hell. since you’re level 100 you don’t need to do anything but go to magma cavern(the place with the flaming hollows), click on the gate, and once you’re in you do the quest that’s right in front of you and then the cap raises
The rework zanka is the strongest thing in the game so if you don't win every match it's either you got serious skill issue or the other person is god at using tvl
