- Returning with a new critical role animatic! This scene really resonated with me (plus drawing Laudna is fun).

The kid actually liking her was such good timing from Matt. Laudna likes kids, so one not being scared meant so much.
Great callback to Episode 1, but the kids react differently. Seems they were afraid of Delilah, not of Laudna
@@lukasschrage8935 Exactly! Kids have good insight, even if not quite conscious of it yet.
@@lukasschrage8935 I was going to say the same thing. But honestly the fight before hand was great.
Agh reading this after the recent episode 😢
I love the complexity that Marisha has developed with Laudna. She is without a doubt my favorite character that Marisha has played and my favorite of C3
My favorite of C3 too :,)
One of my favorite scenes of the whole campaign so far. Matt is in a way redeeming Imogen/Laudna's previous "fun-scary/scary-scary" discussion of children. Without Delilah, Laudna can be happy and bring happiness to others.
It was such a visual scene to me when I heard it, I practically had boards planned out on the spot! Very evocative, one of my favorites too
@@apricattart Matt and Marisha did a fantastic job describing it, as they usually do. Thank you for bringing the scene to life so beautifully in a new way!
I like how you animated this scene. Laudna is free of Delilah, but she is still suffering from the trauma Delilah caused to her, and like Percy she is going to have to find a way to move on and live in a world that has hope and happiness.
I find it so interesting how much of percy's character is in Luanda and Ashton.
Only in present-day Whitestone would Laudna find herself approached by a child who doesn't even bat an eye to her fun-scary appearance. I feel like that's because the town is just so used to its own history that no one's really afraid of her.
It's basically a town of goths where the supernatural and creepy is more of a norm than an outlier.
All the more reason why I found Laudna's reacclimation with the town, her rewriting of her traumatic memories, and that moment with the child all the more heartwarming.
Whitestone has always been her home, in her past life, this life, and the next.
She just simply forgot for a while, that's all.
Bruh the fuck you doing, making me tear up at midnight? 😢
It's also very sweet when you think that now a relevant percentage of the population are tieflings, because Whitestone now understands that if evil can appear as elegant and mundane people, goodness can be found behind more unusual appearances. The city-state is very accepting
THISS!!!
This scene was tragic in that the whole town managed to move on, heal, and change while she is metaphorically and literally stuck forever on the day of her worst trauma because its the day she became immortal. All of whitestone healed without her.
Laudna finally got to meet a kid who found her fun scary, IM SO HAPPY FOR HER!!😭
I love how you made Laudna so very angular and marionette like because it contrasts so perfectly with the kid’s more rounded and cheerful design!! It really looks wonderful when the two are side by side!
Seeing this scene in an animatic like this also makes me smile! You’ve nailed everything!
Thanks very much! I really wanted Laudna to look and move in a unique, sharper, more puppet sort of way and it’s very cool to see that was noticed!
@@apricattartAnd it also contrasts her with Imogen, who’s made of pleasant curved lines.
*slaps screen* SHE MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS
beautiful work tho. i love the way this was animated
Indeed! (thanks!)
The way you drew laudna, paired with marishas voice? FUCK, got me cryin
Great video! Marisha and Matt did an amazing job with the scene and this was a terrific animation of it.
Dude if that scene made me cry on just the voices, the cast's acting, Marisha's performance, and the personal touch of my own imagination. You gave it full circle with your wonderful animation. AMAZING!!
Very well done. Very fun, very scary, but fun scary.
Haha thank you :)
this was such a beautiful scene in-game, it's wonderful to see it animated. also love ur animations
Aw thanks!
Literal chills, great work capturing the scene and I love Laudna's expressions
Thank you! Her expressions were my favorite part to draw in this :)
I love Laudna so much. Like ACTUALLY love her and I don't know how or why, i just want to see her happy and smiling.
I love how Laudna looks like the mother from Caroline.
AW I MISSED THIS MOMENT WHEN I WAS WATCHING REBROADCAST!
This is literally first time I see this.
Beautiful animatic, great job!
Finally I had time to catch up and could watch this animatic without spoilers.
Worth wait
You did such an amazing job with this
Thank you!!
crying again here!
to be traumatized life for being strange,
traumatized in death just because,
traumatized in unlife because of being even more different
but that pure golden heart that never dies
and that golden light that radiates and keeps friends warm
oh, Laudna, we don't deserve you.
Oh my gosh! I love these character designs!!! I haven't seen any other animators nail the characters so well. Keep up the good work!
Wow thank you very much!! They were all fun to draw
Wow, this was amazing to see! Seeing the animation really made the message hit home even more for me.
As I’ve been growing up, there’s a lot of things that have caused trauma for me. A car accident in 2018 made me hold back on getting my license because of the anxiety Cars gave me. Last year I passed the test and have been doing very well. Recently I was in another small accident (someone else was driving but no one was hurt) but it really brought that anxiety back a bit. Luckily I was able to reach out to people close to me for support, and deal with that feeling. Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to drive myself to see the last episode in theater the other day. It feels *incredibly* small compared to what laudna went through, but honestly it’s relatable.
Oh I just realized fun scary was a cool callback to the first kids that Laudna and Imogen ran into at the very start of the campaign.
what a scene :D is this your first for campaign 3? because I definitely like these designs, and they feel new
yep! this is the first of campaign 3
Excellent poses! Thank you!
I'm bawling, it's fine 😭 this is so beautiful
Been long enough to say this I think “neat we saw Laudna in Season 1”
Beautiful work, as ever 💜
thank you! ☺️
I cried at that part.
I am openly weeping this is such a great adaption of this scene!
ST: Ayyy, Laudnahh... how's it hanginggh...
This was so, so sweet to see done!
This is really well made dude!
This scene made me cry
You’re one of my favourite critical role animatic creators ❤❤❤❤
Oh wow this was beautiful. Thank you.
it ok i didnt need my heart
This was overwhelmingly beautifully done. You did such credit to this scene, above and beyond what I could have imagined
AMAZING!! SO SWEET AND SO BEAUTIFULLY ANIMATED!! aa thank you for making such a wonderful thing!
Wholesome interaction with the local kid ♥️
lovely work.
OMG YOU STILL MAKE VIDS. IM SO HAPPY
This is so nice ;w; 💖💖
Algorithmic punch!
This is why c3 is so bad. Its so dependent on c1 that the characters cant just be themselves
